I'm so torn about this place. On one hand, they have a huge menu with Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes. Everything looks and tastes very authentic. Came here for dinner last night because I was craving pho and Indochine Cafe is closed on Mondays. I must say that the pho hit the spot in a pinch. The broth was a little bland I thought, but they give you generous portions of meat, noodles, and garnishes. I also ordered the fresh rolls with pork. I thought they were pretty good although the pork was a little chewy and I didn't care for the dipping sauce as much as other places. Still delicious though. Ordered the papaya salad and the sauce had excellent flavor. The salty crab was a little too authentic for me and next time I'll order it with peanuts and hold the tomatoes. It reminded me of a dish we would have gotten on our trip to Thailand, very authentic. So, the food was actually pretty good I must say. Where they fell short was definitely service. The place was pretty much empty except for one other couple having dinner. The server did not once crack a smile, didn't bring us utensils or napkins when she brought out our appetizers and would NOT make eye contact with us from the counter, so I walked up to the counter just to have her again not make eye contact and rush into the back, so I stood there and had to wave my hands at her to ask for napkins and silverware. She boxed up our papaya salad halfway through the meal and never brought it back until we asked for it when she brought the check. No refills on drinks were offered, we had to ask. When you order the papaya salad at an "adventurous" 3 stars spicy, that's not cool. Also, the music was hysterical. She was definitely playing top pop hits of 2010 with all the greats like Minaj, Perry, and Flo-rida. Made me giggle. There was also an obnoxiously extended remix of Last Friday Night by Katy Perry that lasted literally from the time I garnished my pho to the time it was gone...haha. Anyway, I would say food is good, service not so good, but comical. I would definitely go back. Might be getting take out next time though :) read more
