It's so creamy with plenty of cheese and meat sauce. We've had seafood pasta , fettuccine ala bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs, roasted potatoes, sautéed spinach, salad and crème brûlée that is caramelized at the table. The staff is amazing, friendly and responsive and the atmosphere is like eating with family or friends. I've added pictures of the menu. Daniel is the best Best meal in Rome with my family. In a city filled with standard fare food and restaurants that cater to tourists with mediocre food - Daniel's family restaurant stood out. The food is fresh and delicious. We were able to see up close how the pizza was made (Thank you Hassan for the lesson). The Arancini was fresh, crispy and flavorful and we got to see it made by a master Italian chef (it was made from scratch - not something most of the restaurants we've been to can claim). Great dinner at Er Faciolaro. We started not to go but kept on walking. Glad we did. We arrived and were graciously welcomed. The place was very crowded inside but had a great vibe. As we had eaten here on previous visits we hoped we remembered how good it was. And we did. We ordered lightly...Pasta with a Meat Ragu, an order of Fried Artichokes, and an order or Focaccia. We realized that the pasta dish was going to be huge and it was. Therefore we shared all of the food. The ragu meat sauce was superb. The dish came out piping hot and beautifully plated...not for long. The fried artichokes were equally as beautiful. They were smart serving them on paper on the plate as the paper absorbed the grease they were fried in. Great idea. The focaccia had a great taste but it could have been a little softer for me. But that is me. I like soft bread things. The tastes of everything were great. Complimentary limoncello was served. I could have sat there all night with their homemade batch. Much better than the store bought stuff. Service was great. The whole staff was a friendly as can be. The atmosphere was lively. Lots of groups - a mixture of locals and tourists. Then, we tried some bruschetta with olive spread and an order with tomatoes. They were tasty. For the main dish, the 4 of us tried 2 different pasta along with the lamb and a special steak with slices of Parmesan cheese and mushrooms on top. All of the dishes were outstanding from the first bite to the last. We skipped dessert but they brought us limoncello shots to round out the meal. Danny was so memorable and made this part of our vacation one of my favorite memories. I enjoyed it so much 8 years ago, that I ended up taking my boyfriend here when we went to Rome a few weeks ago. The food was just as incredible as it was 8 years ago, and the service was even better somehow. They make it such a fun and inviting atmosphere that you end up talking to people at tables around you. I ordered the Cacio de Pepe and fried artichoke and my husband ordered a steak with potatoes. My husband asked for his steak to be medium, it was literally raw. The potatoes tasted old and like the oil needed to be changed a month ago. And my pasta was the saddest thing I have ever eaten. It literally tasted like salt and it was drenched in sauce. It was extremely liquidy and tasted like a fifth grader try to cook for the very first time. The artichoke was edible. We ate absolutely nothing except one bite of everything, paid, and got the hell out of there. And when we first walked in the waiter who sat us was extremely rude. He asked me for my order and as I was giving it he started to talk to someone else (absolutely didn't give a shit I was talking) and it went down hill from that point. The moment that I saw that the menu had "fettuccine Alfredo" I knew we should've got up and walked out, as that's NOT Italian and it's an American dish, AKA this is a tourist trap. Please do not be fooled by any of these reviews, save your money, and go elsewhere. So far, we have experienced very great dining experiences, and this was the very worst from our trip.
