Equal grounds is such a cute and convenient location! I stopped by here this morning with my mom and ordered the spring bunny special latte. I'm a sweet drink lover, however, this one was a bit too sweet for me. I do know that the barista had said that she can make them less sweet - which if I have the ability to come back in the future, I may take them up on it. My mom ordered the dirty spiced chai with a shot of espresso and it was unreal. It was literally a snickerdoodle cookie in drink form. This drink easily earned a 10/10 rating. As for the Easter special, I would most likely lean towards a 5/10 or 6/10 just based on my preferences. It definitely earns extra points for aesthetics and a peep on top! I also loved the fact that you're able to sponsor a "pay it forward" meal for someone who may need it. I purchased a grilled cheese and chips for someone who may need a warm meal in the future. You tell the barista and you're able to pick what you want to order for someone and then put it on the cork board in the front of the restaurant. It's a great opportunity to give back to others! The aesthetics and kindness of this place is so warm. It feels comfortable sitting in the atmosphere of everything. There was even a little therapy dog with his family when I came in! He's there every Friday morning.

I've passed this place enough times and I finally went in. A few of us wanted a little pick me up after our late afternoon visit and this place hit the spot. Inside is lighter woods and lots of space to stretch house out, bring your laptop to work or grab a table or the couch and lounge with your favorite hot beverage or a cool one too. I had a hot chocolate and I liked it, maybe I should have asked for whipped cream. Hot & cold drinks are well made and tasty. We all shared a piece of the chocolate bomb (or whatever it's called cake) an excellent chocolate cake with different layers of chocolate mousse inside. The guy behind the coffee bar was pleasant and accommodating. Everyone who came in was chill and we ever got to meet a customers very cute doggie Barney. They have a line of their own coffee. This place is open and welcome to everyone. It's a nice spot I'll for sure visit again. Street parking but dear reader they do have parking in the back a good to know tip. Cheers

Dark roast coffee with half a sugar packet--what I needed for the next 1.5 hrs of driving. The atmosphere here is super welcoming and vibrant. If I lived in Rochester, I'd hang out here all the time. Looks like there are regulars hanging out in the spacious main room on cool eclectic furniture. Super friendly staff.

I wanted so badly to love this place. But was a little disappointed. The woman at the register acted like I was bothering her by being there. Not very welcoming. I just ordered an americano but would have gotten a muffin or croissant if she was nicer. The barista who made my coffee was pleasant.

Natalie helped me again today and I was happy to let her know her recommendation has become my obsession. Just wish I could take a slice of this coffee shop home with us. My friends were raving about their orders because they nail it every time here. Everything from matcha to the sweet babboo to the coffee slushie was on point. Thank you for treating us like locals and welcoming us to your coffee shop. I'll miss greeting Daphne the plant each morning.

There's pretty great plant based options for all preferences. Coming in here there was a crowd. It's got the counter to order at and they bring it out. The majority of people get it for takeout. A good thing because it makes more room inside. It's about $6 for a specialty coffee, and I got The Snug. A ton of flavor in it. This is made with bitters, espresso, maple syrup, milk, and molasses. A few small pastry items. It's about $5 for the Apple Cinnamon Muffin. This one happens to be vegan. Just know there's no chargers. Keeps people moving it seems. They have a few tables. Got to say it's a great place for starting a morning. It's located on Charlotte at Pitkin. The inside has tables but no chargers so it's not good for working or whatever.

Today I stopped for breakfast and tried up the PBS, which is a plant-based breakfast sandwich. It was so delicious, and I am looking forward to ordering it again! Breakfast was reasonably priced, with drinks being on par with prices in the area. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. While I waited I admired the mail station where you could buy a letter pack which included a card, wax seal, stickers etc. It was such a cute idea, but I couldn't figure out who to write to so decided to try it for the next time! My only disappointment was with the book section itself, which was upstairs, were also part of a continuation of the cafe...which sounds weird be be disappointed over--but it was close quarters/intimate seating upstairs so it felt like you were invading personal space of those eating whilst you were trying to shop. Parking is street parking and it was busy so took a few rounds to get a spot. However I would happily come again!

The shop was cute enough, though there wasn't much of a selection for any of the genres. There were plenty of people using up the various tables and seating spaces... though this also made it a bit awkward to try and navigate around those folks to look at the various shelves of books. In terms of the little cafe, it's a nice addition to the space... though perhaps adds a bit of chaos too. There was one person working the cafe when I visited and it was clear that she was completely overwhelmed with having to make everyone's orders AND help cash people out. I was fine waiting, but I ordered an iced salted caramel pecan latte (one of the fall specials) and ended up getting a hot one instead. I'll drink it either way, but it was a bit unfortunate that I waited 10-ish minutes for a latte that wasn't what I originally ordered. (And honestly, I didn't want to add on to the stress of the server by asking her to re-make it, since, again, I would drink it either way.) TL;DR Not necessarily my vibe. I like to wander around the bookstores I visit and not feel like I'm hovering too closely to people that are seated or having conversation with friends. Bookeater feels a bit chaotic for me between the handling of the cafe orders and the organization of the spaces. Probably won't be back, but that's just me.

The atmosphere in the Armory Building licated just off the 490 highway in the fancy Cobb Hill area in a repurposed older building is modern, clean, sleek as well as light and airy. There is great natural light for working or catching up with friends. ExCELLENT baked goods! My boyfriend's latte was delicious and my green tea was so fresh and good. Overall such a fun yummy cafe!

This visit wasn't quite at that same level, but I still enjoyed the experience overall. This time, I ordered a hot caramel latte and a rosemary brown sugar latte. The presentation was fine, and the café itself is aesthetically pleasing. I especially enjoyed the lower level filled with hanging plants, which creates a relaxing, zen atmosphere that's perfect for studying, reading, or catching up with friends. The cashier was friendly and accommodating, and the café was very clean overall. My only criticism was with the drink preparation. While we were waiting, it seemed like the espresso and milk were ready, but the drinks sat for a few minutes while conversations continued behind the counter before they were finished. As a result, the coffee wasn't as hot as it could have been by the time we received it. I was also a little disappointed with the rosemary brown sugar latte. I was really looking forward to that flavor combination, but I could barely taste either the rosemary or the brown sugar. It felt like there was only a hint of the flavoring, so the drink came across more like a regular latte than the specialty drink I had ordered. Overall, I would definitely come back because I know how great Hydra Coffee can be. My first visit was outstanding, and I know they're capable of making exceptional coffee. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is friendly, and I appreciate the unique drink menu. I'm hoping this visit was just an off day because I look forward to giving them another try.
