Beautiful place! We came here for birthday celebration and we had reservation on a Saturday night, Mister X was playing live music. Our table was little away from stage for that the volume was good not too loud and we could see the stage as well. I can understand people that were sitting close the stage can feel music to be loud. Apparently, it was overpriced French cuisine before and now they've tried to go the traditional Armenian route. It's interesting but the foods are probably good if you have a Soviet/russian/armenian palate. As someone with a more middle eastern palate, it was a big disappointment--dry, absence of seasonings, salty, and just overall overpriced for what they served. Does it look nice? Yes. It's a place to go and be seen. Lots of women. I can confidently say, other than the servers, there were probably only two male patrons in the entire restaurant. It's basically food you'd get at a wedding hall but in smaller portions and more artistic presentations. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty. The entertainment is good. But I wonder if it was better when it was French! Sadly, I have no desire to go back when there are so many delicious and flavorful alternatives out there. read more

Ended up here after a ballet performance of Swan Lake. We were looking for some dessert and a latte or cappuccino. It was around 9:30 pm and there weren't a lot of places open serving food or the type of experience we were looking for. As our luck would have it, Epique was very open for business, and it looked like a beautiful place from the outside where we could see there was live music quartet: a violinist, pianist, singer, and percussionist, singing sultry songs that many of the clientele, all seemed to know and were singing along too. The main entrees others diners were having looked delicious, and people were really enjoying themselves. The music seemed a bit loud at first, but I adjusted with the vibe as I really appreciate being a part of other cultural experiences and always love stumbling onto live music. We originally wanted to order cheesecake, unfortunately they were out, next we wanted a cappuccino or latte, sadly the machine was broken, my friend was ready to go after that, but it was late and we were not so familiar with Glendale. At this point, I was really enjoying the music and the waiter arrived just in time with the most heavenly ice cold bottle of Saratoga flat spring water that I didn't know I needed that much in the moment. I convinced my friend to "relax", enjoy the vibe, and we ended up settling on some cafe Americano coffees and a few dishes of chocolate and vanilla ice-creams all around. Sometimes..... it's the unexpected things that end up making the moment the best part of the night. The coffees were excellent and the ice creams I'm guessing were home made. The vanilla (my favorite) was a delicious creamy mixture with little bits of ice that collect in homemade ice-creams (IYKYK) and this was definitely my unexpected highlight of the night. If I am back in Glendale for another ballet performance or other event in the near future, I will definitely come back here and try their main course entrees and order a few of their delicious looking cocktails that were being served in heavy rotations. Probably the worst service I ever received regardless of it being a holiday. I've been to many restaurants on a holiday but today was exceptionally awful. First off, all our main entrees came extremely late, and one of our family members had to watch all of us eat, and his steak never came out. Interestingly the table in front of us was going through the same experience. The manager was preoccupied with a friend who was dining here, so ALL the waiters were attending to that one table. Our waiter had NO CLUE about anything on the menu and couldn't answer our questions. I'm extremely upset our Father's Day got ruined and I will never be back here. Here there is a clean, neat, well managed restaurant, where you can try French cousin, under amazing live music, on Fridays and Saturdays night. I had the honor to meet my most favorite Armenian singer, Arthur (Mister X), listening to his singing in different languages, homophony of piano master Armen. I had a chance to celebrate my Father's Day with my family there, where I could try Frog leg salad, and escargots, for the first time in, my whole life. Both were unbelievably tasty and delicious, with cocktails, Margarita and Karas red wine. It's a little pricy but it is worth it to try. The team celebrates birthdays and participating in their guests' event with serving cake and singing (which we witnessed). In general, I recommend this place to everyone. We came here for a nice quiet dinner with family we hadn't seen in many years. It seemed well suited to this at first, and then the "live music" started. Full operatic shouting less than 4 feet from our table with a huge, open grand. I think this would be a good restaurant to take a date where you didn't really know what to say to them but wanted a nice place. If you are hoping for a quiet conversation, you may have to look elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it was very mid for a high end dining place. Visited this place in March. The food was okay but it was nothing special. The salmon was dry and missing some flavor but the ratatouille was good and so were the desserts. Food wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything with bountiful flavor either. What bothered me was the foul smell of sewage coming from the bathroom area that seeped into our table area. Eating a high end meal next to the smell of sewage wasn't pleasant. We eventually became nose blind to it so there's that. Idk what happened to cause the smell; maybe a pipe burst nearby? I know it's not the staff's fault if that had happened but they should acknowledge if something had happened. We were a big group so we expected a large charge but we were a bit frustrated we got charged for water. It wasn't even distilled water. Water for a shared bottle at the table was $7 each and again as a large group it was almost $35 we paid for water alike. We would have been happy with tap water in a pitcher but they said they didn't have water from a tap? The live music from the piano and singers were beautiful but the smell was so overpowering that I didn't really enjoy the experience. The service was pretty good so I can't be mad at the waiters for what happened really but it just left me feeling like I was paying for an extremely inadequate experience. Overall, not terrible but not the best. I would try it if you're okay with a hit or a miss type experience--some of it may be good and some of it may be bad. read more

The atmosphere here is top notch. The service was just great ( but we were the only people in the place). The 5* reviews here must be friends and family. The food was 3rd world cafeteria. The menu for lunch was confusing at best. WTF Italian meatballs next to Mongolian beef??? I thought Airline chicken was a humorous name and yet, I've had better chicken on an airline. The chicken was as hard and dry as one would expect for airline chicken. The buratta was good, but it needed more balsamic. I had the meatballs. They were seasoned well, but way over cooked, dry and crumbly. They were served on mashed potatoes even thought they did have pasta in-house. The lunch bill for 2x glasses of wine, one meatball, hard chicken, buratta and some sparkling water was $110. This included an $10 appetizer we ordered, but never received. We brought our concerns to the manager and she ONLY comped us on some deserts to-go. I am rooting for this place, because the potential for it to be better is eminent. I only hope they listen to their customers and fix this situation. I look forward to giving them another try when they get their act together. read more

I've been to Epique several times before and since i love the food and the ambiance, i decided to host my mom's birthday there. And let me tell you i wasn't disappointed once again. Everything about that place is 5 out of 5. Since we were a large group we set up a prefix menu in advance. We got a choice of 5 appetizers, 2 salads and 2 entrees. The Appetizers and salads were being served in smaller portions and were being refreshed throughout, which was great since everything was fresh all the time. For the entree we chose the steak and seafood platters and they were both delicious, all our guests made sure to mention how much they enjoyed the food. Now let's get to the service, starting the day we booked our reservation with the manager and all the way till the moment we left the service was incredible. The manager was super attentive throughout the night making sure everything was in order, the waiters were constantly making sure that everyone's glass was full and no one was in need on anything. I know how exhausting serving to a large party can be since i was in the hospitality industry for many years myself, but considering that the staff at any point of the night had a smile on their face and was super polite and attentive. And of course we're not going to skip the main reason we chose this place to celebrate such a special occasion. The live music, it really creates an atmosphere that is hard to forget. All our guests greatly enjoyed the live entertainment and were amazed with the talent of the great maestro Armen Martirosyan and the singers Marta Kirakosyan and Arthur Mister X, which wasn't supposed to be a part of the entertainment last night, but made a surprise appearance. Please do not waste your time or money at this place!! And pay close attention to the bad reviews, we lived through that! This was by far the most disappointing fine dining experience we've had in a long time! The quality of what comes out of the kitchen and service are both subpar especially for a high end and pricey restaurant such as this one. So stay away! We ordered the Escargots and although the plate they were in came out hot, nothing else on the plate was! The butter wasn't even melted! After explaining the situation to our server, who appears to be clueless, he first went to check with the kitchen, then came back to pickup the plate. He returned a little while later with the same plate, and hot snails, but the quality wasn't anything to write home about. Then came our expensive Tomahawk, along with its grilled ratatouille, and truffle fries. The only thing that was hot on that plate was the little bowl of fries ($10!). The $10 grilled ratatouille consisted of 5 round slices of already cold zucchini and butternut squash, 4 small tomatoes on the vine and 3 or 4 cold grilled baby corn. We again complained to our server, with no reaction! Then our server pretty much ignored us until we caught his attention to ask for the check. He immediately brought the check. Based on our issues we would have expected that a manager would have come to our table with the check to discuss our issues and maybe offer a discount of some sort? Well no! The server then returned to ask if he could get the check to process the payment. We asked if he had mentioned our issues to the manager. He said, yes. So we asked if the manager would come and talk to us at least? Finally a lady comes, and asks about our experience, and we said it was very disappointing, and explained the situation. She claimed to have seen the kitchen pull the escargots out of the oven. We explained to her how escargots should be served. We also explained how the vegetables on main course were cold too! She offered to remove the charge for the escargots and get us their delicious desserts on the house, to turn our experience to a positive one. We decided on the crème brûlée and the lava cake. The desserts came out, and guess what!?!? Yup, they were cold! The crème brûlée's crystallized sugar was cold! Usually you would expect that part to be warm, because they supposedly just scorched it! Well not at Epique! Now on to the Lava Cake.... Well disappointing too! The cake was cold, and the ice cream on top was intact! I mean come on, this is lava cake! The manager came back and asked how it was, we pointed out the issues again, even gave her a piece of the lava cake so she could check the temperature! No difference! She picked up our check, processed the charge, and went on with her life. This was a very disappointing and expensive dining experience. Did I mention that a small glass bottle of coke is $7??? Oh and they pretty much force you to pay for water! $7 per bottle! Live and learn, as they say. Please do not waste your time or money at this place!! They are a rip off! If I could stop the charge with my credit card company, I would in a heartbeat! Epique Failure! read more

The service is great! We had such a sweet server who was super attentive. He took a picture of us and showed me their playlist because it was so good haha. The scallops were alright. The French onion soup is a 10/10. It not salty and had such good flavor. I would go back just to eat the soup. The ribeye was good but well done. I ordered medium well (I know, I know should have ordered it medium lmao ). The waiter suggested the pepper sauce and that was a 10/10. If you get the ribeye def get it done medium haha. We also ordered the scallop potatoes but it's called something else on the menu ( French name) that was good but not great for a $10 side. The atmosphere is lovely as well as the wine. Go at 8pm! 2 stars for the ambiance and the decor inside,but the place was mildly impressive. Literally the second we walked in, it smelled like someone had sprayed a bunch of toilet air freshener in the place. Second, the food was very mildly tasty. Like I've had better at hole in the wall joints that didn't break my bank. The steak was so so. Literally no flavor. But the thing that annoyed me the most was that we ordered their advertised "ratatouille" as a side with our steak. Do you know what we got?? A few roasted peppers, tomato, and zucchini arranged all over the board. Literally no sauce, no ratatouille. Just a few grilled veggies like how do you call that ratatouille. It was a deconstructed ratatouille at best. I'll never go back. Once was enough. Anyone who posts 5 stars at this place is for sure related to the owners in some way.
