My son has been to this location 4-5 times for a facial rash and she was not able to prescribe a medication to actually treat the rash. I pulled him from school for an 11:00 apt and showed up 11:08 & the very timid receptionist took my $35 copayment came back. Two minutes later told me doctor went into a surgery @ & We have to wait 25 minutes. We waited 10 to 15mins and then the receptionist came back to say we're gonna have to reschedule. Because we were late. They don't go above and beyond for patients. I will be finding a new office- avoid them if you want a practice to treat you like family and extended grace. My child has special needs and this was an unfortunate situation. Not surprised to see they have 2 stars. read more

Epiphany is now simply a chain of what used to be independent physicians who cared. They are all owned by the same investment group and their new goal is to make money, and lots of it. Creative fees for just making an appointment, which by the way, are now scheduled every 20 minutes, so the "doctor" is on the clock to maintain volume of visits, not quality. I found another office that really cared about me, much more affordable and professional. Sorry to see that these offices have succumbed to the corporate promise of big bucks. read more

First, upon my arrival at the office, I was greeted by Gladys, who confirmed my name and instructed me to wait. After I sat down, she publicly announced to the entire waiting room that I had an outstanding balance and needed to make a payment. I attempted to clarify the situation as I had already paid two previous bills but she was unable to provide any answers on what was owed. Second, during my appointment with Dr. Aronica, I was treated with a total lack of respect. When I asked her what the treatment entails and the results of a prior appointment and biopsy results, Dr. Aronica's response was to instruct me to "Google it." Furthermore, when I questioned her on my right to be informed about my own care, she suggested that I could cancel the appointment. Will not return. read more

Definitely don't go here for cosmetic dermatology!! It's an actual SCAM!!!! When I called to make an appointment, they insisted that I first book a consult. Didn't want to do it, since I've had cosmetic dermatology services for years, but it's close to my house (and I dont' trust Med Spas). I was told they needed a $100 deposit to hold the appointment but that it would count towards services booked. Went to the "consultation" where Dr. Severson basically told me all the things I already know and then tried to upsell me on more than I wanted. After the "consultation", I was told that I'd need to pay another $100 to book an actual appointment and this would be applied to services. I inquired as to whether the prior $100 I'd paid would also be applied. The girls at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about regarding having already paid $100. I showed them my receipt, and they found it in their computer. Neither of them could figure out why I'd already been charged. One went back to talk to the Dr. and his assistant about what I'd been told regarding my prior payment and the requested additional payment. She finally came back and told me that the original $100 was for the consultation and to set me up as a new patient. It would not be applied towards services, and if I wanted to scheduled another appointment to actually receive services, I'd have to pay another $100. At this point, I told her this was all a scam and that I was just going to leave and never associate with this type of bait-and-switch again. I've been to several dermatologists for cosmetic dermatology and never been subject to this type of shakedown. I called another dermatology office to schedule services. When I talked to the receptionist, I made sure that I would be able to make an actual appointment for services and not be subject to some crazy "consultation" fee or required deposits. She literally couldn't believe another dermatology office would pull something like that. No kidding!!! I'm heading over there in a few days. Today was my first visit to Epiphany dermatology. It went better than I could have imagined. The receptionist was very helpful in getting me checked in. The office is nice and what you would expect. I met with Dr Janessa England MD and her assistant Lolo. They asked about my concerns, checked my skin from head to toe (you have your underwear on) and took care of some sun damaged areas. They also took a sample from one spot to have a biopsy done. Dr England gave me a feeling of confidence that she knows what to look for and how to treat it. I like that in a doctor. She and the entire office, has made, what is by no fault of theirs, a ridiculously stringent and sexist process to get isotretinoin as easy at it could possibly get!!! Genuinely the most frustrating medical experience I've ever had. Epiphany is impossible to get in contact with, and if you finally manage to speak to someone on the phone, they won't actually do anything. I have called multiple times to get my prescription refilled, and the one time they answered, they said they would send the refills to my pharmacy. However, when I went to the pharmacy, they said they hadn't received the refills from the physician. I called Epiphany again, and they informed me that I actually couldn't get my refills until I went in for an appointment. I explained that I had moved and wouldn't be able to visit their office anytime soon. So, I asked if they could send my records to my local dermatologist. They said they would, but when I called my local dermatologist, they said they hadn't received anything. To make matters worse, I can't even log into my patient portal because it's attached to my old email, which I no longer have access to. I've tried calling to update my email, but surprise, surprise, they never answer the phone. This isn't the only issue I've had with Epiphany, and I don't know what else to do. Dr. Aronica, Dr. Lee and their medical staff have treated me for years. I have actinic keratoses from too much beach time in my youth. I can't relive my past but I can rely on Epiphany Dermatology to help me quickly treat or eliminate threatening changes to my skin. Before Epiphany, other medical professionals practicing in this specialty have made me feel like I was an inconvenient part of their assembly line freeze process, making for an anxiety-filled experience. I have had so many cancerous and precancerous spots removed and with each one, I am more impressed with Dr. A and Dr L. The scarring is minimal, the aftercare is great and I truly trust their judgement. It is rare that a section is biopsied without a positive result. Bad for me, but they aren't just cutting to cut. I really can't say a negative thing about them. Love the nurses as well. You have a choice to be grumpy or happy about your doctors. They make it very easy to be happy! read more

Had my first appt. here due to recent hair loss. Saw Dr. Thomas Lee. Spent time prior to the appt. filling out multiple forms by hand in the waiting room, not sure why they couldn't have sent these to me to do online ahead of time, that is pretty much the "norm" these days. Not a big deal but something to note. Went back to the exam room where the Dr's assistant proceeded to ask me why I was there (already answered on the forms I filled out) and asked for more details (timing when hair loss began, etc...) also addressed already on the forms. When Dr. Lee entered to exam room, he walked in backwards pushed the door open with his backside (I thought, okay he just doesn't want to touch the door???) and started speaking to me while turned the opposite direction saying, "hello, nice to meet you" and didn't even turn to face or look at me. He then slid onto the round rolling chair next to the exam chair I was seated in. He had on a mask (which I am fine with) and proceeded to ask the same questions I had already answered on paper and to his assistant. As he spoke he looked at the wall to the my left and never looked at me directly in or near my face or eyes. NO direct eye contact whatsoever which was the most uncomfortable, unfriendly and unprofessional experience I have ever had with a Dr. let alone anyone I had an appointment with involving my health and well-being! He says to me, "so I see from your paperwork that you had Covid in March of this year". Noooo, I had Covid in December, 2021 which is what I told his assistant. My symptoms of hair loss began in March of this year - UGH!!! So I filled out all of their paperwork, verbally gave the same information and now he is not paying attention to details all the while NOT even looking at me when speaking to me. He of course then says "oh yes, we've seen many patients who have suffered hair loss following Covid". My next thought is well lets not diagnose me before examining me and speaking with me a bit more since you know nothing about me - okay? He poked around at one side of my head for 10 seconds or less, that was it and says "you need to go to Costco and purchase Rogaine and start using that". He hadn't asked me about any of my medial history, diet, nothing! I am very familiar with Rogaine. He didn't address any possible side effects of using the product, nothing at all. I had to pepper him with questions and of course, if you stop using Rogaine, any hair regrowth will fall out so this is a long-term, life-long commitment with side effects. I had to ask HIM about diet, supplements, natual oil remedies I was using, again since he didn't even bring ANY of these other infuential factors into the conversation he was still having with the wall adjacent to me. Yep, still no eye contact! He offered no advice on any of these other remedies or considerations I brought up to him, he was so stuck and focused on Rogaine, he shut down and was not listening to anything I asked or said, it was as though he was saying "hurry it up and get outta here"! It's Rogaine or GO HOME LADY! I walked out the front office door and said outloud to myself, "Well, that was a complete waste of time and money"! Oh and yes, they billed $330.00 for a horrible experience and a canned remedy. And NO I'm not using Rogaine, I'm still taking the supplements I had started and using organic coconut oil with rosemary (at the advise of my hiar dresser) and guess what - I have hair regrowth coming in. I've been a patient of Dr. Lee's for some 6-ish years. Zero concerns about his ability as a dermatologist. Recently, I was in for a minor procedure, albeit stitches were required. I failed to mention the need to refill a prescription in that appointment. I realized it almost as soon as I had left, but I planned to say it when I returned to have the stitches removed. So I did. Much to my surprise, Dr. Lee's office changed my visit (to have the four stitches removed) to a medical appointment. Dr. Lee came in for (less than) 3 min and left, stating my prescription would be refilled. Later that day, I got a call from his office asking for my $60 co-pay and stating they were billing my insurance company. I questioned the need and legitimacy of said practice, let alone my $60 and the insurance billing. Just before pulling my wallet out to make the payment, frustration overcame me, and I changed my mind and asked to talk with the office manager or Dr. Lee himself. Surprise; no callback. I hoped they waived my co-pay somewhere in my mind. I called my pharmacy... They informed me that they did have a script called in, BUT IT WAS CANCELLED. I find this practice despicable, if not fraudulent. Yes, I got a statement from my insurance company. They didn't cancel the billing, just the script. I'm heading to Affiliated or another dermatologist next time. Hippocratic oath??? I think not. read more

Been seeing Dr. Aronica for about 5 years for pre-cancerous lesions on my face. She is through and professional, yet personable and conversational. Found out we share common roots growing up on Long Island. When she moved to North Phoenix from Deer Valley, I stayed with her even though I could walk to the Deer Valley office. It's unfortunate that patients have given negative reviews because of the support staff in the office. The doctors are outstanding, but the office staff can be rude. read more

I went to the Peoria Az office. Very shady practice. After my exam I was given 2 options for the cream that would help my sun spots. The insurance would cover a 3 week cream or I could pay $50 for a 1 week cream. I chose the 1 week. I bet they make money on selling the 1 week cream. I was instructed to come back for a follow up so I did and she said I needed another 1 week cream for another $50. Then I was billed for another office visit on a follow up. This place is booking appointments after requesting certain doctors and putting patients with different ones when arriving. When asked why we weren't told that a doctor we were scheduling with is no longer there, the office manager hung up on me. Regardless of me being made about a situation never ever should a business office manager become rude and hang up on a customer/ patient. Never once did I say anything rude or disrespectful just asked why we were not told that this dr was no longer there and why we were not booked at the closer location and basically handle it. read more

Beware and don't let your prescription expire because you'll be charged a office visit to have it renewed. I spent two minutes with the Doctor for $140 to get the prescription renewed, no other service. The Office Manager justified the insurance didn't pay well, most medical insurance has little coverage for dermatologist. I won't be back. read more

After being a patient here for almost a year I had a procedure done to remove a suspicious looking mole. A month later the area was still looking red and inflamed so I requested an appointment to have it checked out. Was seen by the Dr. And ONLY this issue was addressed. A few weeks later I received a bill for the post-op visit. Many months later and discussions with the billing office and they will still not waive the fee (I made my post-op appointment after the 2 week window that they allow). As a medical professional myself I believe that billing a patient for a post operative visit is unethical and morally wrong. I would never even consider charging a patient in my own office for this. Very unhappy with how this situation was handled as it reflects poorly on how a health care practice should be run. read more

I went to my appointment and there was an issue with the insurance. I wasn't a new patient and had asked when I made my appointment if they had everything they needed. I was told not to worry about it. The employee at the front counter was very rude and short with me. I asked for the manager and when and sat down. The manager came up and yelled at me across the waiting are full of patients. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior. I tried to contact the district manager who has not returned my call. This was not the first time I have seen that manager be unprofessional and clearly complaints about her behavior by myself and others fall on deaf ears. read more

Fairly sad to have to leave this review.  I had 3 good years with Dr. Aronica.  When I first saw her she understood an ongoing issue I had and we agreed upon continuing the same treatment.  At my last annual check-up she forgot all about the condition I guess, and when I called to refill my prescription I was told I would need to come back to see the Dr. just 4 months after my annual visit.  I went around and around with the office staff until I was hung up on.  Then I was hung up on by Bethany, the office supervisor, who said I shouted at the staff, which was not true.  Yes, I was extremely frustrated I was being asked to spend additional money on an office visit after having just seen the doctor, but I was not shouting.  Bethany also told me if I didn't want to follow the Dr's policies I could go somewhere else.  When I spoke to Bethany, or I should say "listened" to Bethany as she didn't let me talk, I was calling back to schedule another appointment to get the same medication I had been on for 8 years.  Unable to even schedule an appointment because the office was so unprofessional and hung up on me twice, I was forced to find another doctor.  Sadly, I would not recommend this office because of the unprofessional staff and poor notation of patient history resulting in unnecessary office visits. read more

Horrible service, Every time I have been I end up waiting 20+ minutes after my scheduled appointment (most have been the first available in the morning), staff talks and messes around behind counter, I would get leaded to my room then wait another 15 minutes for a doctor to come see me, just to take a look and not give me an in depth observation of my skin. The phone menu selection 1 thru 5 puts you on hold indefinitely. I left a call back message according to the instructions. Nothing. No email followup from the website asp appointment request. I finally tried the yelp and got the Peoria office and was promptly given excuses as to why calling the main number doesn't work. I had been a patient at this dermatology office for several years, back when it was Arrowhead Derm. The primary reason I stayed with them was because of Dr. Ryan Stevens. However Dr. Stevens recently left Epiphany and moved to Center for Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. When I called the Epiphany office they lied to me about what Dr. Stevens was doing and where he was. They didn't even say he wasn't working at Epiphany any longer. Two different calls to Epiphany and got two different answers, or non-answers. Very unethical and unprofessional. I put up with Epiphany's terrible front office customer service, no return calls, etc, which to me shows that management could careless about their patients but also the support staff. I can only speak for the location on deer valley and 77th ave and deer valley road. Employees and medical assistants are not on the same page at all. Was given specific directions for a new injectable medication my son was put on. Was told to have the medication delivered to me and then bring it into the office with my son and that they would give him his first injection to demonstrate. I called the office upon receiving my sons medication and was now informed they could not give him the medication in the office unless it had been delivered directly to the office! So now I have a months supply of meds that my son cannot take. I will be finding another dermatologist office ASAP. read more

I decided to give this place a try since I live virtually across the street. Having some skin health concerns, I was hoping to find a nice staff and good doctor. That's exactly what I got!! Dr Stephens is amazing!!! He's very friendly, knowledgeable and has exceptional bedside manner. Everyone in the office is equally as friendly and helpful.
