Noticed on the website they were competing for the James beard foundation so I was eager to try. Definitely enjoyed this cute place. Burgers were cooked to perfection. I had the Eco Epikurean Burger cooked medium(which is up for voting)  Ground Shortrib, Brisket and Chuck Beef blended with Truffle Oil Infused Portobello Mushroom Duxelle. Topped with Blackberry Demi Glace, Cremini Mushrooms, Pancetta, Maytag Bleu Cheese Mousse, Parmesan Cheese, Balsamic Aioli and Scallions. It was delicious. Hubby had the Elvis milkshake, which has a strip of bacon. It was great also the fruit and cheese buger which was medium rare with a spectacular Cheddar, Riesling Poached Apple, Bacon, Honey Drizzle, it came on a baguette which was alittle soggy, but in all, it was a nice twist to a burger. The epikurean burger is nothing short of absolutely amazing! The deliciousness includes Maytag Bleu Cheese, Truffle Mousse, Pancetta, Mushrooms, Blackberry Jam, Balsamic Mayo, Green Onions, and Parmesan Cheese. This is my burger soulmate y'all. I also had the cheese fries and they were also phenomenal! The fries were perfect. Some were soggy and some were crispy, they were seasoned with salt and pepper, and topped with a delicious cheese sauce. A match made in heaven! As for the price, I think it is on point. My kimchi burger was very messy and became too mushy due to the kimchi sauce. It tasted good but a little too saucy for my taste. I've eaten at Epik over 7 times now and every time, hits the spot. My significant other has a gluten and dairy allergy, and they are always happy accommodate. The burgers come out perfectly cooked, I prefer medium and my SO prefers well done, and always on point. The only complaint would be that the fries tend to be a bit on the room temperature side/cold side but we love potatoes anyways, so not a big deal to us. Aesthetics: Mix of nature and metal with the metal tables that seat 4 people and the 2 glossy wooden picnic tables down the middle of the restaurant. Clean lines and decor. Was craving a burger and needed a fix. Epik Burger came up on my Yelp-dar. I went with the Juevos Burger and an order of the Bacon & Egg fries to share. I have learned that I don't enjoy turkey gravy on fries as much as I thought I would; it approaches too salty for me. The egg & aioli added the right umami, but the slices of bacon were not as enjoyable as one would have hoped; pieces tend to work better in these situation. The burger was served with guac & jack cheese. I opted for the bison patty. Sometimes when you get guacamole on a burger, it's just a little dollop. Not with Epik - there was a nice schmear of guac so that I got a little bit with each bite. While I opted for no jalapeños, that was a mistake. The burger was missing that kick it needed. Not their fault; totally mine on that one. And while I know not everyone loves the trend, I love an egg on my burger to get that extra 'mmmmmmmm' quality. We definitely will be going back to try more of their offerings and make our way through the menu. read more

Before I start, I need to say our family was very divided on this trip. My kids rated this a resounding "5 Stars", while I felt it was more like a "3 Star" joint. In an effort to show that we can all get along, I am compromising and rating Epik Burger a 4. How can we have such different views, well let me explain. First, I was paying the bill, so three burgers and three milkshakes tipping the scales at over $37 dollars seemed like a lot. And milkshakes, while very tasty came out in what seemed like 12 oz. cups. So I think you may understand the difference, from my perspective it was value. But Epik does some things fantastic! First they offer great gluten free choices on everything from food to buns to drinks and everything is well marked on the menu. So if you have Celiac disease or just try to limit your Gluten intake, this is your place. Another is the breadth of sides and condiments. I cannot think of a time I have ever walked in a burger restaurant bad spied avocado on the menu, or had an option for a Nutella milkshake. So really good on choices, great on variety, not so good on value. read more

I had a build your own burger with bison patty, Brie and bacon on a wheat bun with lettuce, tomato and onion. Unfortunately the bison is only available in 1/3 lb and larger patties (no 1/4 lb option). I had the Philly burger which was very good. My friend had the Greek which he said was also very good. Although the onion rings I had looked great, they were greasy to me - more of a tempura so the taste was grease, batter, then onion was last and I would not order those again. Although I did not have any fries, my friend did and the serving size was very good and he stated that he would eat those again. Along with my onion rings I decided to pay $.99 for their house sauce which overall was bland and really didn't add much to the greasy onion rings. Overall I would not get that sauce again. $15 for a specialty burger, onion rings, drink, and side of sauce. A little pricey if you consider a family of 4 would put you at $60 provided someone doesn't buy a milkshake which would take that bill to $70+. Summary.....great burgers and fries, forget the onion rings and sauces (they should really give you one complimentary sauce - smaller serving - before charging you for another serving to avoid people taking advantage or wasting it. read more

I didn't expect this place to blow my mind like it did since it's in a strip of small shops. The Red Dragon Burger was out of this world! I'm not usually a fan of pretzel buns because of them being so soggy at previous establishes but Epik's was nice and crisp yet soft and not greasy at all! The burger was topped with some red wine sauce and the burger was cooked with some ale... I didn't expect to be drunk off of it but my stomach was food drunk! Got the 1/4lbs Epikurean Burger with buffalo bacon cheese fries. The burger was awesome. Really loved the flavor of blue cheese and blackberry jam with mushrooms. The fries where great too. Reminded me of buffalo wings but way better. I do feel that the flavor of the burger was worth 15$ but the quantity was only about 8$. The burger was $9.99. I had to drive 10-15 mins to get here. Not sure if the cost was totally worth it when on a lunch budget but the flavor was worth the trip. The fries where filling for 1 serving. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. It was good for my co workers and myself to eat lunch. I only gave it a 4 star just for the price vs. quantity for the burger. Outside of that its a 5 star. Will do this again. read more

Just moved to Jax and tried out this spot after driving around trying to find anything that was not a chain. We were not disappointed from the staff to the food - all on point. The order consisted of a PB & Bacon Burger with Poutine and a housemaid VEGAN Guac bean burger with vegan cheese fries. Would have given this a 5 star but the fries for our taste were over seasoned when paired with the toppings. A hidden burger gem in Jacksonville's Arlington area. I knew Epik Burger was good when I finished the burger and realized I didn't have to add any condiments in order to enhance it. E.B. is a small location but it packs a punch! It's a clean restaurant with a nice, friendly staff. The burgers are fresh with great, sometime unusual ingredients and toppings. You can get beef or bison for just a few $ more. The Epikurean and Korean BBQ are personal favorites. Epik also has chicken and tuna burgers and are gluten sensitive to customers needs. They also feature rotating specialty burgers and milkshakes that change over time. The fries by themselves leave something to be desired, so order the Buffalo Bacon Cheese Fries. They are really good and you'll need a fork to finish them but they are really good and messy - in a good way! They also have a selection of beer, ale and wine that can be paired with your order. You can't leave without getting one of their deliciously awesome milkshakes. In my opinion, SOME OF THE BEST IN TOWN. The Cinnamon Dolce is really good, but if you like it simpler the vanilla is great too, and always get whip cream. If you love burgers and want to expand your horizons a bit Epik Burger should be tops on your list. Definitely worth a visit...or several visits. read more
