I have been a loyal customer for many years and I came to Santee for the first time and I have to say, this is the BEST location! The ambiance around the restaurant is sporty and fun with GREAT food! The food beats Buffalo Wild Wings any day of the week...the beer prices are jaw dropping too! ($4 dollars for a draft?!) I ordered a double meal medium strips and it was fresh, hot, and super tender. Sorry Wings in things you're slipping. This is my home away from home and my question to you is this: Why do you keep changing your policies? Our favorite bartenders ( Chris and Wes ) are now confined to only the bar and they can't do anything else? Really? They can run circles around most of your staff!! We sat at a table behind the bar, got finished with our food and NO ONE came to bus our table for over an hour. ( no direction by manager on staff working at the time) I found out later that Chris had requested several times to get assistance to bus tables but his request fell on deaf ears? I finally got tired of it and handed our trash to Chris. ( thanks Chris for looking out for us and all the other patrons by the way) I'm not one to bring things up but in this particular case I saw the manager on shift, Rene and about four other co workers standing behind the Jones soda display chatting like there wasn't anything to do??? I understand whenever it gets slow it's nice to take a little break, but not when all the tables need to be cleaned and new customers can't find a clean table and the bar is slammed and needs assistance with glasses and pitchers?? Really?? My suggestion to the upper management, you almost have it right. Leah, Chris, and Wes all are seasoned veterans who don't crack under pressure ( I've seen the bar 4-5 deep with people), they are true professionals, they talk to everyone the are personable, and they CARE!! They can teach everyone else how to work as a team. Give them the tools and authority to run this place the way it needs to be run. If that's too much too ask, get the bar a bar back designated only for the bar and keep them behind the bar to assist during football games or big sporting events. I guarantee if Leah was here that night, or if Chris, or Wes had the authority to do what they naturally do, you wouldn't have a thing to worry about. This place ROCKS!!! First off, food, OUTSTANDING, I went in and got a single meal with 6 wings I tried the garlic medium and it was so delicious! Second, I loved the aroma and how cheap the bar was!! I mean 3.50 for sculpin pint?! I mean who can beat these prices! Third, specifically one worker stood out to me, I believe his name was Adam, he was on top of everything and from working in the restraunt biz, this kid has definitely have potential in being a manager and possible running a store himself, he showed great leadership skills in a very good way(not rude to other workers). We often take out from this location and have never been disappointed. I placed a party order and there was a miscommunication as to the time when the food was to be ready for pick up. The staff was apologetic, extremely helpful with getting things ready and getting me on my way. What was totally unexpected was the fact that without even asking they gave me credit for my inconvenience! I like the fact that they actually cared! The staff was very nice and helpful. Other than that it was a waste of money. The chicken was soggy but ok. The menu says "freshly cut" for the fried zucchini but they meant freshly cut before frozen in some warehouse. The zucchini was over fried, bland and was worse than what you'd get at a drive thru. All their sides except the fries are frozen! The iced tea is made from syrup and taste terrible. The chicken in no way is good enough to compensate for the lack of quality and taste of everything else. If they made fresh sides and had real tea Id try them again, if not, I'll never return. I wrote a tip now doing a review... great food and it was fast! The bartender rocked, she took our order from the table, kept our drinks coming, served the food and made sure customers had what they needed... by far the best bartender I met here (I like the other guys but they don't work as hard). The wings are the best. The beer / wine bar and patio is fantastic and Dhani the bar gal is wonderful. The bar has outdoor seating which I think is the best. However, as I understand it, the owner or managers are not opening the garage door style seating in the winter because it is too cold. Too cold? I was there on a Sunday for football and it was 80 degrees outside. Numerous patrons complained that the bar door was not open on such a nice day. This is a big drawback because the bar/patio is such a destination seating area. I was told that after the sun goes down the restaurant gets too cold with the big door open. Okay, then warn any patrons who come to sit at the bar that if it gets too cold, they will have to shut it, and anyone sitting at the bar can choose to move. Not a big deal to open if warm and then warn to close if too cold. We are in San Diego! I've been to bars in Denver with outdoor seating in the winter still open. I love the wings, take advantage of your patio and accommodate your customers. read more

I go to school right up the road, so I often come here for lunch between classes. Always great service; never had any bad experiences here. The wait for food is pretty annoying if you're not expecting it, but I've learned to live with it. It's about 15 minutes minimum, even if you're the only one in the restaurant. I know because this is often the case during the off-times that I go there. The upside is, that even when it's super busy you still only wait 15 minutes. Win some, lose some. The food is really awesome. There have been a few times that I felt it wasn't hot enough, or too chewy, but the vast majority of the time it's spot-on. They do take orders over the phone for take-out, so if you're looking to just pick up food, you're in luck. Just be prepared to reheat the food when you get home because it doesn't stay hot for long. As a frequent wings n things customer I have to say that this location is definitely my favorite. The wings are always fresh never frozen and (unlike the slimy ...insert negative adjective here... you get at buffalo wild wings). And don't get me started on the beer prices... $4.00 for a pint of pretty much any beer you can possibly want and $3.25 for a pint of Coors. The bread sticks are obviously crafted by the gods and brought down from the heavens every morning, and when paired as a compliment to my favorite honey bbq wings its like an explosion of all that is delicious in this world. I believe its around $8.00 for a single meal which includes 6 wings, 2 breadsticks, a side of carrots and celery and a drink, which is really not bad considering the QUALITY food you are getting. As a side note for those who complain that the prices are too high... I believe that when McDonalds was selling there FAR FROM mighty wings, it was $6.00 for a 5 pack... just saying... you can complain all you want about the prices but you have to think about your other options people. read more

I don't do reviews often but my experience here was quite something both negative and positive. First off I called my order in about 30 minutes early before I needed to pick it up for my lunch break a girl took my order and told me it would be ready at the time I requested. I go down 30 minutes later to get my order which was a double meal. A girl by the name on the receipt was "Natachia" had been the one to take the phone order and took my payment when I arrived. She had told me that the order wasn't ready yet and it should be out shortly, I informed her that I was on my lunch break and needed to head back to work. She was apologetic and said she was going to let "them" know that it needed to come out right away. By them I assume she meant the cooks. While waiting I spoke with her and another girl by the name of "duveena" another uncommon name but both were friendly and apologetic for the wait. 10 MINUTES later my food came out! When back at work I bit into my strips that I had ordered hot with the garlic were extremely cold and tough ! This was very frustrating for the fact that I had no time to go somewhere else to eat. Stumbled upon a gem Saturday in Santee while out shopping. My husband saw the Wings N Things sign on Mission Gorge, and wanted to stop and catch part of the football games. He loves watching football and eating hot wings. I was so pleased to find out this Wings N Things has great salads! The atmosphere is great, and the bartender Jessica made us feel right at home. While there we noticed the Manager Allison went out of her way to follow up with us and other customers to make sure everyone was taken care of. We don't live in Santee, but with all the shopping in that area, this is going to be our go to spot when there is Saturday shopping to be done! read more

I was born and raised in Santee since 1975, I am a Santee business owner, I have a family of 6, and I know a lot of people here. That being said... my family, friends, and I eat here at least twice a week and we love the food. Unfortunately we had the first and only bad experience there thanks to the manager Adam. During a heat wave with temperatures over 100°, we noticed inside temperature was still pretty warm. We asked Adam to turn the AC cooler, his reply was the AC is set at 70°. After we noticed our drinks were turning warm and sweating more than usual we asked again about the AC, and again Adam did nothing to give comfort to his customers. OSHA industry standard ambient air temperature is 72°... upon checking the thermostat we realized it was not 70° in the establishment. Finally we got up and left without buying anything more even though we were planning on spending more, but the temperature was hot and unbearable. Whatever happened to the saying "the customer is always right"! I'm sure there are other managers there that understand this but as for Adam...he needs to realize the customer is always right, especially if it only takes a few cents to give them comfort!!! FYI 5 customers that I know complained about how hot it was, and it doesn't help when the thermostat is in the hallway near the bathrooms where the coolest part of the place is, and it still read 77°!!! I went just today for the first time and the two cashiers were distracted to helping one customer instead of helping the other who were standing in line, on top of that I had to wait longer than the others that arrived after me because the kitchen processed their orders before mine. I only gave this place one star bc no stars wasn't an option. This place is run by a bunch of inexperienced, young workers who don't have an organized system of delivering food efficiently. I waited nearly an hour for my food, with no valid excuses for the delay. Also, none of the employees had the decency to update me on the progress of my meal. Not only did I mind the long wait, but I was also frustrated over the fact that over a dozen people, who arrived after me, got their meals before I did. Finally, when I did receive my food, it did not correctly match what I ordered and what was listed on the receipt. I am extremely upset and I had no compensation whatsoever, other than a pathetic apology from an employee. Don't go here unless you want terrible service with a side of terrible food to go with it.
