My daughters have been coming here for a little over 2 years now. They love Ms Vicky, the instructor! Ms Vicky really cares about the skaters and because of her guidance my girls and two of their rollerskating friends won 2nd place in the California State Games back in Feb 2023! It was a nice experience for the girls and it makes them want to practice more for the next competition! This place is also getting a nice facelift. The owner does a great job making the whole place a location you want to come to with your family and friends. Class prices went up in January to $18 a lesson, but it's so worth every penny because of what you'll get out of it! Totally recommend Epic! read more

My kids love hanging out here. They enjoy the food ($18 for a whole pepperoni pizza), & the different icee flavors ($4.50 each). They enjoy skating to the music & being able to watch sometimes the music videos on the big screen. We tend to fall into the time slot of the 90's music often, but the kids still enjoy it. They have lots of seats for the parents to sit & watch, but beware it's $10 just to go in. Even if you don't skate. So nice that you can choose between roller blades, or the 4 wheels, or even have the option to bring your own wheels to save the fee on renting if you want. They do offer a few lethargic lights up. However, they don't offer those training racks you push around, but I've seen some little kids bring their own from home. read more

I've been coming to epic for about 5 or 6 years. It's always been a nice place to come and skate or even just bring your kids to skate. The main prob I have is Post Covid they have been charging people full price to just sit there watching their kids skate. Why do I have to pay just to breath the air in the building? At the very least you are still making money off of the ones who just come to watch from the concession stand when they purchase food and drinks. I wouldn't even be mad if the fee was maybe $5 BUT to be the same price as a skater is ridiculous. On top of the fact that if you come and bring your kid to a skate lesson prior to open skate (but stay for the open skate session) you don't have to pay to watch so it's really all B.S. and depends on who's at the register. read more

I love this place, reminds me of my childhood. Everything is great, prices are very fair. I usually go to the 6pm skate for all. The entrance fee is $11 per person, super fair! The skate rental is $6, you can bring your own skates. This facility is very clean and well taken care of. I enjoy the music, drinks and of course skating... while my kids enjoy the arcade. Got an invitation to come here through my wife's dentist and we had a great time! First off - the skates are a bitch to use if it's your first time so be careful... I used to roller blade when I was younger so I probably should've grabbed those instead but wanted to give the skates a shot... hard AF is all I'm gonna say I'm not a big fan of pizza or food at places like this, but I've gotta say that I was actually impressed with the quality of pizza they provided the guests as well as the service throughout I don't recall what the prices were for entry, but between the food, the large area to skate and the decent arcade area as well I'd say it's worth the experience! read more

It was my first time bringing my 9 year old roller skating. We told the girl at the front desk that I would not be roller skating but needed to be able to keep an eye on my daughter. I was still charged for staying with my MINOR. That is extremely disappointing and an unethical way to make an extra buck off of families. I clearly cannot leave my minor unattended. Escondido Kit Karson skate park may not have all the lights and music but at least families can be together to share these moments together without paying an arm and leg. We really like this place. To truly understand its value, you have to compare it to other skating places and then look at all the amazing things it has to offer. Let me go over a few to help you see why we feel this place is great.... First great thing: It's clean. Aside from the bathrooms (see below), this place was clean overall... no funky smells or dirty tables, which surprised us. The floor was clean too. They also offer rentals for both skates and roller blades. This is something that most places we have been to in the area don't offer. We also loved the energy and kindness of the DJ during open skate times. Want a song? Request it. Want to ask a question? Go for it.... That's excellent service. We went to another skating place where the DJ told our Girl Scout Troop they couldn't do a shout out unless we paid them money or had a birthday party there and there were "no exceptions". Umm hmm. Sure, I get giving shout outs to everyone could bog down your flow, but acknowledging a big group of girls who come to your place and give you money just by being there is a win... acknowledgment of your customers builds loyalty in a business. The other great things: there is an arcade (if you are looking to spend way too much money for basically no prizes), and a small food area with decent food!! The kids liked the food and loved their variety of choices on the menu. The staff were so friendly and nice... we really like going there. There are also lockers for your stuff and lots of places to sit down while you are taking a break. The only not awesome things were: a lot of arcade games were broken during our multiple visits (we weren't there for the arcade, so we didn't mind) and the bathroom was not cleaned regularly. You can tell some effort was made to keep it up, but not nearly enough. Overall, this is a great value for the money. We will definitely return ... Edited to add: Important to know before you go: you have to pay to enter the facility. Want to watch your kid skate? You have to pay a fee. I really don't like that policy. It's a sneaky way to get more money. However, most of the other skating places in the area are doing the same thing. I get it... it costs money to run such a large operation, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. If there is a good thing about that policy, it's that a ton of people aren't there taking up chairs and sitting space and not skating, so my kids who are skating and want to take a break can do so, without having to fight for seating. However, I think charging a little less to "observe" would be a big win win here. Just throwing it out there... read more

We'd love to support this place. We used to go about 6 times a month, daytime hours. Unfortunately the music is mostly trash and the videos that accompany it make the whole experience uncomfortable and inappropriate for children. Would be ok if it was like that for evening sessions, not at noon during an 8 yr old birthday party... We tried requesting classic roll songs, but it's always some kid at the booth who shuts us down. It seems like this business is run by teenagers who have complete control and zero discernment. Bummer because it's the only rink nearby. Not trying to be a whiner. I never leave reviews. I just came here to try and skate with my daughter for Friday night skate, and they turned us away at the door. They insisted she have a government issued ID. However, she doesn't drive yet and only has a school ID. I definitely don't want to say it is a race thing but it makes absolutely no sense to me that this is a requirement when it isn't posted anywhere on thr website. Why would a minor need a government issued ID if they don't drive yet? Also, why is this requirement not posted anywhere on the website calendar or on the FAQs page. It seems like they are making up rules based off who shows up at the door. Not cool at all! Very disappointed in this place. The fact that you pay $13 just to sit here you're not allowed to bring in anything not even water. They have an arcade and you still have to spend $13 to play the arcade. What is up with this price gouging. For 1 drink they charge $3.81 cents. 6 Arcade games don't even work. read more

Pros: - wasn't busy even on a Saturday (probably because they have no returning customers). - games were fun - nice arcade (extra fee) Cons: - expensive ($70 for 4 people for 1h 15 min) - you have to pay just to enter--even if you're just there to watch your kid skate - no refunds. My 6 year old tried it for less than 5 min and they refused to give us a refund. - the snack shack was closed Lockers are available for an extra fee. My husband doesn't skate so he basically had to pay to supervise my son play in the arcade. My son liked the arcade but why go here to pay to play arcade games that you then also have to pay for when you could go to Castle Park or Mulligans to enter the arcade for free? read more

Really great customer service from every staff member. Pizza was really good, and the drinks and food were at a reasonable price. Staff really went above and beyond, they tightened my sons skates as he is a beginner and he had a much better time. Took my kids here for the first time today. It's nice, but the fact that they charge everyone and not just skaters is ridiculous. It will definitely be at the bottom of our entertainment list because of this alone. Other places do not charge for parents monitoring their kids. Food is okay, not great. BEWARE BEFORE YOU GO........This place is absurd!!! We came for the first time ever last weekend for a birthday party. My kids enjoyed it so we decided to come back. I wasn't skating rather, just watching my kids. They still make a supervising adult pay the full $13 admission. On top of that, they wouldn't let me bring my water bottle in and made me take it back to my car. I assume just so you have to purchase beverages from them. On top of it, the arcade is crazy expensive. We figured on average about $4+/- per a game which last maybe 30 seconds to one or two minutes. My kids loved skating but they are ridiculous, making parents that aren't skating pay and not letting you bring a simple water bottle in!! Unfortunately, we will never return here. read more

I'm sure we can all agree that water is a basic human need. We used to enjoy coming here quite often. Today when it was over 110° outside, so we decided to go into a nice cool atmosphere to have some fun and activity while waiting out the heat. To my surprise this business no longer allows customers to bring waters from outside, not even sealed waters from Costco. The only alternative is to drink out of the provided public faucet or purchase a nearly $4 water. Also, To my surprise, they don't even offer water cups. Even theaters offer free water cups that can be filled with refreshing ice water. So unless you have no problem being forced to purchase water, your only other option is to drink out of a public faucet. I even asked if I could bring in an empty container and fill it with their provided faucet so I wouldn't have to bend over and slurp water. The answer was a resounding NO! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is right. Every place I've ever gone to with my kids, including Disneyland, SeaWorld, magic mountain, theaters, trampoline parks, etc, etc...allows us to bring in a basic human need called WATER. This is very upsetting. If you're going to have a policy like this, then you should have the decency to offer, at the very least, water cups so one doesn't have to put their face in the public faucet, or for us to pay for four dollar waters. If I had all my kids with me, that would be six people times four. That's a ridiculous cost for water!! Don't get me wrong. I love skating at this place. It's always clean and it is a nice place to take the kids. Please either allow us to bring our sealed waters or offer us water cups. Thank you. PS I saw another review complaining of the same thing. She was a nursing mom. I've had five kids and I know nursing demands a lot of water. Believe me slurping water out of a faucet is not nearly satisfying or easy to get the amount of water that is needed. This is borderline criminal. read more

Two Stars 1. Music was awesome! The DJ played all the great songs of 80s and 90s. I loved the music videos on big screens. 2. There were a few hand sanitizer stations- good look, but not many people using. Subtracted stars 1. No covid mask required. Many people including workers were not wearing a mask. I didn't see anyone routinely wiping any surfaces down. 2. Lockers are ridiculous expensive. Gone are the days when the skate rental clerk would take your shoes. It's $0.75 cents each time you open your locker. Smh- just let people rent the locker for the evening. It is an unnecessary upcharge. They have a coin machine for your convenience so that's nice. 3. Felt very crowded to be at 20-25% capacity. It definitely made me miss skating. I will try again at some point later this year. If Covid wasn't a thing this would be easy 4 stars. If prices were more reasonable for locker rental then 5 stars. No clue what bathroom, food menu or game area looked like. I didn't tour around. The kids stay active with other sports but was asking to replace them with Roller skating instead. Giving families a monthly fee/subscription would make this place perfect! What a fun place to hang out and hide from the summer sun! The rink has pretty awesome music blasting, which certainly make the skating fun. There are some arcade machines to play and hang out. There is also a snack shop. The vibe here is awesome, and I have never roller skated before. So what fun!!! I am very much pleasantly surprised. We came in for open skate on a Wednesday. I was really impressed. Everything is spaced out nicely, it's clean and not run down. There's decent amount of seating and decent food (and alcoholic beverages). There's an arcade and a decent amount of staff so things run relatively smoothly. It's definitely a hot spot for tweens/teens during summer open skate. Only cons I can think of is 1. you have to pay to just be an observer (parents on the side) but that's because of Covid. The remodel and all the screens look great. The place looks really cool. I give 1 star because of extremely poor taste is music selection decency. Playing a song that says "a freak in the bed" and couple grinding provocatively in videos on the large screen in the middle of the afternoon with a bunch of children present is disgusting--shame on them! One song played with a photo of a woman smoking the duration of the song. Plus, they played rap the entire time!! There was no straying from it till another mom complained as they left and then they played 1 Bieber song out and then went right back to rap and R&B and songs saying "sexy" and other similar trash even after a parent complained. They lack judgement. The previous week at the same Th 12-4 was a different DJ and there were a few songs where you hoped your kids don't understand it like when you're in a store. I wanted to respond as a follow up to the post made by Destonie P. I would first like to clarify that we have enjoyed our experiences at epic as we have gone multiple times over the last two years. The cashier Claire who helped us on our most recent visit was very rude and condescending (as she has been in our previous visits working the snack area). Our little girl enjoys roller skating and for both me and my wife we would just let it roll off the shoulder to not ruin our time there. This time she definitely was out of line. The experience went like this; We came in with a group of 16. Claire seemed overwhelmed and wanted us to separate into 2 groups and we complied with no problem. Our first greeting from her was "Just so you all know even if you're not skating you have to pay an entry fee", even though this was said with an attitude, not a problem. She assertively let the older kids know they needed to spit out their gum, which they complied. My sister in law asked why (she's never been) and given the attitude Claire was already giving, I explained to my sister in law it's for safety reasons. From there she aggressively instructed my sister in law to remove her gum for the second time. My sister in law responded politely and said I will as soon as I pay (Claire hadn't even rung her up nor did she pass the entrance). I paid for 8 of us in our party to skate. Claire again aggressively told my sister in law "You need to take your gum out". Keep in mind she isn't asking her to remove the gum, she is telling her "You need to spit your gum out" aggressively. At this point she had told my sister in law 3 times to remove her gum before she even asked how many skaters and rentals they needed. My sister in law was fed up as she was not being rude to this girl at all and told her no and asked to speak to the manager. Like I said during our past encounters with Claire she has always had a slight attitude. The "manager" who came out had no desire to resolve our issue. Instead they decided to defend their position and completely disregarded the attitude we were given by Claire. Seeing there was no resolution from "management" I asked for a refund and we went somewhere else. Even though it happened to somebody in my party and not me directly, this has affected my family's decision to return. read more

First of all....my kid went to sit down on a chair and the chair was extremely wobbly and she had her skates on and she fell and fractured her wrist. That was a nice long drive home with her in pain. My other gripe about this place, specifically tell you no water bottles yet this place is covered in them and water bottles to buy here are $3.50. I paid $100 just to get in and other $50 on water. We're from out of town and it just doesn't seem fair that everyone seems to know they can care less about their own rules. I literally have my water bottles inside my car. That's what I get for following the rules! Also the employees tell you slow skater near the outside of the rink, yet they skate the fasted on the outside of rink. The skating rink itself is a little rough, you can tell a lot of people enjoy this place. The amount of seats it great, even though some of the the booths are in need of desperate repair. Why would she assume that I would not question of why I am paying more than what the sign says.
