OMG they had a NU students discounts on dillo day and it was only $5 for a burger :D I think it's nice that they let you choose whatever you stuff inside of your burger, i mean, it's much easier to do addition than subtraction ( think about what you don't want in a burger) and who wants to be surprised by something they dislike in a burger? They offer healthy options (wheat buns, anyone?) that makes you feel good. The ingredients were fresh. Overall the burger was quite good, not as good as in n out though. read more

I'd say the burgers are PRETTY damn on point here. The patties are juicily succulent, the bun nice and soft, the bacon oily and fried - it's a perfect unhealthy post work out meal when I'm just craving for that burger. And it leaves me feeling completely satisfied and the King of the world. However, I'm going to knock one star off for the price. $10 for JUST the burger (granted yes I did add a fried egg and bacons) is pretty preposterous. Have been here multiple times with great service but this time was different. A few new faces greeted me after my workout at the gym (I'm very hungry at this point). Good service, but mediocre burger and fries. They gotta do more to stand out in the saturated burger market. One thing to applaud them for is that they use humanely-raised meat that is free of artificials and focus on bringing non-processed food straight from the farm to the table in front of you. I got the junior sized turkey burger - the patty was juicy and you can tell that it is quality meat, but it is too thin for a good bun-to-patty ratio, and the Epic sauce (a mix of mayo and Thousand Island) is too sour and overwhelming. Fries and vanilla milkshake are both very fresh, but also hardly impressive. Maybe I should've gotten their beef burger (the turkey burger was a mistake order). read more

The customer service at this location is incredible. I went in over the weekend to get a Beyond Meat brat, but they had sold out. LeAndra and Sheree giggled at my 'Oh (profanity)!' but I was far from upset. Yet, both women made other menu suggestions, a coupon and were deeply gracious. Their kindness allows me to pass that coupon forward, and I can buy lunch for someone in need. Also, the store is exceptionally clean and the food is delicious. My family of four went to Epic Burger for the first time a few weeks ago. My initial impressions were very favorable. I liked the clean, open space and design, and really appreciated the "build a burger" approach of picking bread, meat, cheese, condiments, etc. Everyone can get exactly what they want. We had one turkey burger, one chicken burger, and two beef burgers. The chicken and beef were devoured and enjoyed, but my turkey burger was excessively salty. Maybe this is because turkey is so bland and requires so much seasoning? I ate about half of it. Regardless, there are plenty of other combinations of meats that I'll definitely go back to Epic again; everything else, including the service, was a very good experience. read more

Beyond burger was delicious, as were the sweet potato fries. Nutella shake was a little underwhelming, not much flavor. It took a while for the burger to come out, but I was in no rush. My only real complaint was that once I finished eating, I went to the restroom and when I returned my plate was cleared but so was my drink. I love a good burger and epic burger hits all the major points. It is a BYOB concept. I decided to venture here after walking by it while running errands in Evanston. First, the meat is fresh tasting and not greasy. Second, it is so easy to choose the toppings one likes, along with the bun type. I chose a beef burger with a brioche bun topped with cheddar cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. I hadn't ever had the epic sauce so I ordered it on the side along with a side of fries. I ordered everything to go and it was made in under ten minutes. The service here was wonderful. The young woman working the register was an absolute delight! Customer service these days goes a long way! The burger was delicious and fries were great! I will definitely be back. read more

I really had a craving for a good burger. Took my lunch break and came here and I was not disappointed. Epic burgers may not be the greatest burger you've ever had in your life (let's be honest we have only truly had 1 or 2 of those), but they always deliver a quality burger. Food took a little while to come out, but I was not disappointed in the final product. I devoured the burger a little faster than I should have and that left me to eat the fries by itself. Personally, I do the classic on a white bun with cheddar, raw onions, avocado and all the other fix-ins with fries and a drink. Epic Burger is an Illinois gem - tasty, quickly made food without sacrificing quality. We go here regularly because of the quality of the meat they use (humanely raised and no additives, antibiotics, or hormones) - also because it tastes good. Our favorites are the epic burger and the chicken sandwich - meat is always seared right without being dry. Any toppings you get are always fresh. Fries are solid and the shakes are good. Things cost a little more, but it's reasonable for the quality and totally worth it. Also, The service here has always been great. We've lived in CA and TX, which have well-liked burger places, and tried other options too - including those "gourmet" burgers - but for us, they just don't compare. It's been a while since we've gone to those other places, and I see no reason to go back. We've got all we want with Epic. read more

So I gave the Honey Hot Chicken sandwich a try. The sauce is not bad tasting (really all you get from it is sweet), and they can surly leave the "Epic Burger sauce" off the chicken sandwich as the "Honey Hot" sauce is enough. First and foremost... there is nothing "epic" about their french fries. SAD FACE. The manager tried to pass of lukewarm, borderline cold fries off as fresh after I asked him if they were still hot. Why lie? Do you not think your customer is going to test the fries? This is the US, and I challenge anyone who loves fries to not dig for one immediately upon receipt...quit playin'. So now I have to wait for "hot" and "fresh" fries as opposed to the coldish dried out ones and of course that now means my sandwich is just sitting, releasing heat. LE SIGH. Anywhoooooo, the pic of the chicken sandwich is of a nice neat fried piece of chicken. Ummm, no. Since this is an attempt at "Nashville Hot" chicken in which the "hot" is in the brine and the coating. Totally not the case (least as far as my tastebuds can discern). It's a fried chicken breast, literally submerged in a sugary sauce which makes it ridiculously sloppy to to eat. Everyone knows (don't y'all?) that you should brush a sauce on meat, not send it to scuba in sauce (that's what a side of sauce is for). Oh and why the Epic sauce along with the Hot Honey sauce. Y'all was doin' TOO MUCH. So I like the brioche bun and the pepperjack cheese but that is not unique to Epic burgers. I found nothing really unique about this chicken other than it was really slippery as the sauce eventually made the bun soggy and the abundance of huge pickles (they are not supposed to overpower the sandwich, right?) just added to the inability for the chicken to stay put in the bun. I really gotta say this and I hope Epic is paying attention... your fries need help. Really they do. They are the most uneventful fries ever and I am actually kinda mad that I let my weekly allotment of french fries go to waste. They're rather dry...even when hot. You know french fries can be put in the same category as hot dogs, baseball and apple pie, at this point in American culture. Epic's french fries are doggone near baby food bland, and not the most crisp... at $3.00 maybe spring for a little duck fat... pink sea salt...somethin'. Overall, that chicken sandwich isn't enough to bring me back...I was so hoping it would be better than your burgers. :-( Just reminded once again why I stick to local burger and hot dog "joints". It appears, at least in my experience, that they really care about quality and taste. Epic Burger lives up to its name! My fiance and I were having major cravings for a filling, juicy burger and we are very happy we stopped at Epic Burger. I ordered a double beef (which is not 2x patties, just a larger patty) with a wheat bun, horseradish harvati, fried egg, lettuce, pickles and Epic Sauce. The plated burger and fries was a sight to behold! The bun was light, fresh and well toasted, providing a satisfying crunch near the edges. The meat was juicy, perfectly seasoned and was seared so nicely that its edges also had a satisfying crunch. Honestly the bun and burger alone would have been satisfying. Yet also piled on top was a well-cooked egg, havarti (whose horseradish flavors made random, welcome appearances), hearty pieces of fresh lettuce and delicious pickle strips. The Epic Sauce is tasty and a nice mix of condiments, much more than the typical 'special sauce'. Together it was a true burger experience, bring on the napkins! The fries were a nice thickness with great flavor and texture. A great compliment but also delicious on their own (also kudos for having malt vinegar available). My only recommendation for my burger experience would be a more robust bun that could support the massive burger and toppings. The juicyness of my creation quickly overpowered the light wheat bun and had me holding a beautiful mess. Still, not enough to overpower the general Epicness. The joint in Evanston is in a prime, walkable location with ample seating. The staff was really helpful and amiable. I welcome Epic Burger's advertising of a more 'mindful' burger and the specific experience they offer. The flavor/textures are definitely mindfully created but I pay close attention to those establishments that are also mindful of their impact and their supply chains. Can't wait to return! read more

They have gotten our order wrong multiple times. It was delivered and my vegetarian fiancé wasn't able to eat anything because they gave her something with meat. Not the first time they've done this. Had a meeting to attend and ran out to grab carryout. Got back to the office and took a bite of this really delicious-looking burger. It was so over done, that it was crispy/crunchy! Was time to head to my meeting so I couldn't take burnt burger back. The fries were cold too. Staffing: They needed at least two more people. One person was trying to cook all the burgers for a busy lunch crowd, and the guy on the register had to keep going back to make the fries and help bag and serve the tables as well.
