I go here everyday and love it. My recommendation is order online because the lines do get long

First of all I will always love potbelly and no one could ever tell me otherwise. But second- I came here to talk about the Mexican street corn chicken sandwich! It was such an interesting idea and I really enjoyed it! I will say, it was something that now that I've tried it once I don't need to again. But that's just because I love sticking to my regular potbelly order. Fun idea on the sandwich! read more

I have not been to Potbelly in awhile . Saw that they have a special: sandwich chips and a drink so I went to enjoy an early dinner. Turkey with Swiss and additional Avocado tasted good. Not as much Avocado I hoped for, but still sandwich was spicy good with all the fixings! Got the key lime cookie to go, yum! Staff was very friendly the second you walked inside. Staff was helpful with any questions about an order. Place has plenty of tables and even has a to go shelf for pick ups. Music playing is a great addition for diners looking for casual atmosphere. I plan to return. I really really like their sandwiches. read more

Ordered a Turkey sandwich, but it was the slimy processed Turkey. Thought a sandwich business would serve REAL meat. Made the mistake of eating the sandwich and was sick the entire next day. Will never order here again!! read more

Very generous portions, wholesome ingredients. I usually order-out, don't sit-down much, but the environment is pleasant. Could use some more parking read more

This has to be the best Potbelly's I've ever been to. I've visited several times and I'm never disappointed. The staff is always nice and it's always a positive ambiance. From time to time I even catch live musical performers sharing their artistry at the front of the restaurant. I got my favorite Italian sandwich today and they got my order right yet again. Evanston is lucky to have this Potbelly's. read more

UPDATE 10/2/19: Bumping this down to one star, because I ordered vegetarian mac and cheese for a lunch meeting today (mac + roasted red peppers and hot peppers), and somehow Potbelly's took that to mean "lets smother the entire thing in bacon." (See photos. The label indicates is the correct order: mac + 2 kinds of peppers. Whoever prepped it didn't know what they were doing, and apparently no one else checked their work). So, I sat through a 2 hour lunch meeting without lunch (other than the chips and cookie I fortunately ordered), and then had to reschedule my meeting afterward so I could go pick up real lunch so I'm not starving the rest of the day. This is the second time I've ordered a vegetarian meal and found meat in it. On the plus side, at least this time it was obvious (unlike the last time when I bit into a veggie sandwich and found roast beef hidden inside of it). read more

From my experience, and the reviews of others, this is a location where you'll get the best service if you come in and order. I like to order via the app and there's always a little something off with my sandwich (i.e. I order extra onions and somehow get no onions at all). Otherwise, the sandwiches are good and my order is usually ready when I get there. read more

I grew up down the block from the original Potbelly's, and, at first, I had mixed feelings about seeing new locations start to pop up. Eventually, though, I've come to love the fact that it's available without losing its original personality or quality. Sandwiches and shakes are still every bit as good as I remember from my youth, and they've added some other great options as well - soup, mac and cheese, salads... These subs are far superior to anything you'll get at Jimmy John's or Subway and feel closer to an actual deli. I have to restrain myself or I'd probably be there at least once a week. read more

I love this potbelly so much! The staff are always so kind and helpful, and the food is delicious. The restaurant is clean and always has plenty of room. Also got a catering order from here once and the manager was so kind and helpful! Highly highly recommend this potbelly for a quick and tasty meal. read more

I have used this location for several years to feed a camp full of boys - anywhere from 90 to 200+ campers - and a staff of athletes and coaches - twice a week for two weeks each year. The GM, Wendy, is incredible to work with and there have never been any hiccups. This store even hit a home run for us by filling in both camp sessions when another local shop couldn't handle the amount of sandwiches we needed. I am incredibly impressed as is my boss. read more

So consistently good. I have not had a bad experience here. People are friendly and the sandwiches are hot and delicious. I get the wreck, tons of meat. read more

Ok.. so my daughter was raving about this place. I mean CRAZY about Potbelly's. Being a college student she was eating anywhere that wasn't the cafeteria or dorm building food as much as she could. Poor thing, mama wasn't around to feed her. So having heard SO much about this place I was drawn to the appeal which was Potbellys! I was told the Wreck was the best sammie ever! So I order the Wreck and well... dont hurt me... please... but... I didn't like it much. Sorry NU students. I do not love the pot nor the belly. I did however give it a second chance being the cool chick that I am.. Tried the Roast Beef.. and guess what?? I found it to be .. equally unimpressive. Not bad for a meal if you must, but there are great places in the area I would rather nosh at. read more

Not a sandwich fan. We just were so hungry that's why decided to walk in. I got Mediterranean sub, my boyfriend got chicken or turkey one (can't remember for sure). Just really nothing to say. Usual Sandwich Shop with good location in the Downtown of Evanston (so that's great for students). Regular prices. Stuff was nice. Atmosphere as well. So if you are so hungry and love sandwiches it might be a right choice for you. read more

Food was pretty good. My whole order was very rushed and when it came time to pick toppings the guy behind the counter closed my sandwich before I was done picking out my toppings He then seemed upset when I asked for condiments on the side. I also got a vanilla milkshake it was horrible! I will never get a milkshake from here ever again On the other hand our cashier Vlad was very kind and patient with us. read more

I've eaten at several of the Potbelly's locations in the Chicagoland area and I feel that the Evanston Potbelly's is the best. Of course the food is the same as the other locations (great) but the atmosphere seems more relaxed and their outdoor seating is right off of the square which is perfect for people watching. Oh yeah- say it with me now: Chocolate Banana Shake (with a butter cookie) read more

Never had a sandwich from here I didn't like. There's a delicious selection that you can easily customize. I usually go for the roast beef and add lots of veggies to it. Honestly, I feel like you can't go wrong with Potbelly's and their sandwiches. First of all, their breads are to die for!! I've tried both the white and wheat breads and I prefer the nuttiness of the wheat bread sandwiches. They have a variety of different sandwiches and I most always choose the turkey breast original. You can choose to go Big for a sandwich which is a longer sandwich for an extra $1.30. Original sandwiches cost $5.10, which is fairly reasonable. The sandwiches are toasted and the whole process is fast and easy. If you like sweets as much as I do, definitely try the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies here! Those cookies are addicting! This location is located in downtown Evanston, so parking might be tricky. There are street metered-parking and garage parking nearby. read more

Extremely rude customer service. Walked out without any lunch due to how rudely I was treated.

I give Potbelly's on Davis Street in Evanston, IL 5 stars! Jesse, the manager is so caring and very accommodating. He and his staffers work very well together. The sandwich man today (Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:30 pm made the best tasting sandwich. All of the people were working. Smiling faces on everyone, so you know they like working there. Almost everybody I know is obsessed with Potbelly's. I'm not a huge sub person (OK, it's not technically subs, but not ordinary sandwiches either), so please take my review with a grain of salt. Or, rather, take that salt and put it on your sandwich. You don't need to be a huge spicy food fan like I am to realize that this stuff is not flavorful at all, unless you count grease or mayo. Ordering is confusing. I like grilled mushrooms. Sometimes, I forget to order them in Phase 1 of Your Important Ordering Experience. Then, I try during Phase 2 of Your Important Ordering Experience. If I do that, they yell at me and tell me I should've ordered them during Phase 1. Uh, okay, but how does that help me now? The attitude here is annoying. read more

Guys figure your online ordering out. Usually you're so good but you left people waiting in store for 30-45 min bc your system was messed up. What about people who need a quick in and out and use your online service bc they need to get back to work? Thank goodness for the dude behind the order counter with the glasses who helped me out and put my online order together so I waited for 25 min instead of 45 like the rest of the folks. At least offer complimentary Something for having to wait around. read more

I work right across the street from this location and have gotten lunch from here at least once a week for the past few months. The quality in the food has drastically gone down. I usually get the roast beef. And the last two times I've gotten it, it was by far the grossest beef I've ever tasted. The first time this happened I thought oh this must just be a one time thing. But today was even worse...i literally had to eat just the bread so I didnt have to go buy another lunch. I got the roast beef And it basically all fat, and the small pieces that weren't were awful to taste. I definitely won't be going back after this experience. read more

Ok this use to be my favorite potbell to go to as it was one of the first to open in the Chicago area but wow they really need to get some new staff. I came about 8:30 pm and the guy making the sandwich was really nice but there was no one for me to pay for my sandwich. The cashier was too busy adding chips to an already full of chip area until I had to ask her. Not only did she roll her eyes at me as she walk to the register but took my card swipe and left. no questions. I had to pulled my receipt of the machine behind her to make sure she didn't over charge and ask the sandwich guys for a bag to carry my food out. read more

Sandwiches and pizza. Two things I think of fondly when remembering my days in Chicago (Evanston). Fuck Jimmy John's, Potbelly's is king. They have an awesome Veggie sandwich and their hot peppers are a must. The pizza sandwich is pretty great as well... While Quiznos offers a similar approach to subbing with their toasting system, it doesn't quite compare to the little sandwiches at Potbelly's. A sad truth when I'm living so far away from the Chi... Thankfully the powers of franchise have put one at Midway, because there is nothing worse than leaving the windy city without a breezy sandwich for the long flight home. read more

Although "Potbelly Sandwich Works" is nothing like the "Earl of Sandwich," it is pretty close! All of their sandwiches are wonderfully toasted, which gives you a fantastic warm sandwich for a chilly day! For under $10, it is just a good sandwich! Even their chips are tasty! Every time that I've been to Chicago, I have always made at least one stop to Potbelly - whether it is downtown or even at the airport. With their great service as an extra bonus, I just love a delicious sandwich! read more

Ordered several sandwiches for my team to be delivered. Kept following the order in the app and five minutes after the 30 minutes of it supposed of been delivered by it still said was being prepped. Checked five minutes later the order had been cancelled. Someone from the restaurant called me saying that it had been delivered, but nobody knew where it was. So I ordered lunch elsewhere. An hour later I get a call from a very frantic delivery person saying they couldn't find the giant office building that I work in. Had to leave my coworkers multiple times to try and fix lunch. Had to call the restaurant later to confirm whether or not the order has been cancelled and a refund had been put on my work card. It had, but that was not made clear to me. What an absolute mess. Will never be ordering team lunches from here again, that's for sure. read more

Potbelly's overall as a chain is decent enough. It's usually not one of my first options for a meal but you can get a warm sandwich for an average enough price. My husband swears by the Wreck sandwich which includes salami, roast beef, and turkey as his main sandwich when we do go here. But this particular location is in the south part of downtown Evanston and has outdoor seating in the summertime. I'm usually torn when we do go here if I want one of their shakes with the little cookie or if I want a Jamba Juice smoothie which is next door. read more

I always enjoy your sandwiches. They cook them good regardless of the location. Keep up the good job! You're doing just great!

I'm a fan of Potbelly and so is my boyfriend, but he's had issues with delivery from this one. Today was the third time the delivery guy arrived at my boyfriend's work without change. The order total was $14, and this already included a $3 delivery fee. My boyfriend had a $20 bill and was going to tip an extra $2, and AS USUAL, the delivery guy had no change. BF: "If you send me another delivery guy without change on them, I will send him back and never order from you again. Sandwich was delicious though." It sucks when you like a business/restaurant a lot and want to patronize and support them, and they just keep giving you reasons to never return :-( read more

Not the best place for Vegans/Vegetarians, this location only offers two sandwiches. (-1 star) - The Mediterranean, which includes hummus, feta cheese, cucumbers, artichokes & roasted red peppers --- the better of the vegan/veggie options, you can always go with no cheese (+1 star, the better option) - The Skinny Mushroom Melt, which includes (canned) mushrooms, swiss, provolone & cheddar cheeses--you can order without the cheese, but then you would only taste the salty-ness of the mushrooms. ( -1 star, the worst option) Of course, you have the option to add these free sandwich toppings: Mayo, lettuce, pickle, mustard, onion, hot peppers, and tomatoes -- but even when you tell them to put a little extra, there still is not enough to fill your sandwich or belly. (-1 star) These sandwiches fall flat in the veggie department--and I honestly would never eat there again. I have a bunch of meat-eating friends who absolutely rave about this place--and maybe that's the reason why it's so good. The other +1 star comes from their shakes and dessert options (although not vegan-friendly) they taste amazing. Offical verdict: 2/5 stars--I'm just going to stick with Jimmy Johns for now. At least when I order a veggie sandwich (the #6) from there, they fill-it-up (and the guac is free) read more
