Very happy with the experience I had with epic. The customer service was not only very helpful but they were very knowledgeable they showed me the difference in the geometry of a frame for the type of riding I would be doing and what fits me. I took my mountain bike in to get a complete new front wheel and tire as the person I lent it too, bent the front wheel and threw the whole wheel assembly away. I decided to have them tune it up also. Boy did I go wrong coming to EPIC BIKE SHOP. Mind you my rear wheel has a presta tube which works with the air pump on the bike. What I got on the front was a Schrader tube that makes my pump not work for the front, unless I buy and adapter. The rear was also has a quick disconnect. Did they put one on the front to match? No, now I need wrenches to take the front wheel off and mount on my rack. As for the tune up, When I dropped it off, I was told that it wasn't shifting into the third set of gears on the crank. The front derailleur needs adjustment. When I went to pick it up, I heard something is wrong. They think may by the shifter assembly is broke. They think? They Think? Didn't I pay you money to Tune it up and find out what needs to be fixed/replaced? Did you think to call me and ask if I wanted whatever was broke replaced. No, because you had a young kid work on it. You didn't even call me and say its ready, I called and was told yes, its ready it. I paid good money for a wrong tube, no quick disconnect and as I look at the dirt on the chain, derailleurs, dry shift cables, I paid $75 extra for a 1 min wipe down. I will not do business with EPIC BIKE SHOP ever again and I don't think you should either. Poor communication and terrible work. Guess I will go back to Bicycle Discovery!!! Service so bad, I bought a presta tube for the front and will change it myself. read more

I was missing a very small but crucial piece from a headset, these guys hooked me up and didn't even charge. Obviously it's more about customers than cash here... I don't know what these guys are talking about. I've been going to Epic BMX for the last 4+ years and have experienced nothing but great customer service (and yes I ride fixies). They've been nothing but helpful especially the owner Phu and one of the main dudes who works there Robbie. All of my Volume Cutters and Thrashers have been built there and when ever I encountered any problems, they did not hesitate to fix it. Okay I don't get the other reviews about Epic. I picked up a BMX bike for my son about 3 years ago here and the guys there were great. I was in there before Christmas 2011 for a fixie for my growing son and they did everything on this bike that was asked of them. I will be back I'm sure. They have great prices as well. Epic is easy to get to from the 405 fwy. Rob helped me out last time when I bought a full face helmet for my son. It was a size too small and I had to call Epic to get a new size in from the distributor. Distributor took forever, but Rob stayed on top of it until it came in! He was always very professional when I called to check on it, and he was a big help when I exchanged the small for the medium. I would much rather buy from Epic instead of dealing with a mail order return process! read more

wow, This place is HORRIBLE. I walked into this small shop and couldn't get any service for 10minutes or even a "hi" for that matter from the staff because he was talking to his friend on the phone.. They sell skateboards so I went in to ask for the Bones speed cream and the dude had no idea what that is and they don't stalk any bearing grease for skateboards..wtf? he tried to sell me some bike chain grease for $12. This shop is over-priced, unfriendly and unusable. Definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else. read more

So the first time I came here, I had okay service from the wwner, I believe his name is Fue or something along those lines, but the second and third time, I got to meet his employees, all of which turned out to be a bunch of rude and immature kids, running a bike shop. I don't know what the hell I was thinking buying my first bike here. After a few days of riding my newly bought bike, I decided to go for some risers(handlebars) and needed to know what size handlebars would fit my bike. I went in and got some help from the caucasian kid working the counter. I asked him what size handle bar would fit the flite 100's clamp. He looked at me clueless for a while, so I asked him "is it a 31mm or 25?". Suddenly he acted like he knew what i was talking about and walked over to the display bike, the same model I had bought not too long ago. He took a look at the stem without even measuring or taking more than 3 second's time and came back assuring me "Oh yeah it's a 31mm handlebar" Uhmm okay? So I went ahead and ordered some 31.8mm risers off of ebay for 40 dollars. When they finally came in, guess what?! THEY WERE THE WRONG SIZE! It turns out, I needed a 25mm riser. This pathetic excuse for a bikeshop employee gave me the wrong info! What's worst was that he didn't even put the effort into making sure what size the bar was. Do not EVER shop here, especially if you are a fixed gear rider, because a lot of them clown on fixies. Furthermore, the place is absolutely filthy! Every time I walk into the store, I feel like I need to shower. I hate the young employees working there so much that I created a Yelp account just to complain and warn my fellow fixie friends to never ever shop here (or at least until the current employees are fired and decent ones are hired). Plus their inventory is very impressive. They have the best selection of BMX bikes and parts you can find in Orange County from all the high end brands. Great shop! I went in with just a basic knowledge of BMX biking and no clue what I wanted or needed. Both Brett and Foo (sp?) were a huge help. They took the time to talk to me not just about bikes and riding, but also about the shop and business in general. The found a great bike for me that fit well with my height (I'm pretty tall) and even offered to get different bikes from their warehouse for me to try if I was interested in waiting it out. They definitely go the extra distance to make certain any brand that they sell, will be backed by the manufacturer with the highest level of customer service. I saw other shops on yelp that had more reviews than Epic, but they all had a few really negative reviews that put me off from making the drive and gambling with getting that same negative experience. Hopefully these guys can get a few more positive reviews! We need more businesses like this! read more
