I apologized for the inconvenience but afterwards I discovered I had been removed from the loyalty program. When I politely asked to be reinstated and have my points restored, I felt I was still being treated as though the misunderstanding hadn't been resolved. As a longtime customer, that was disappointing and pretty extreme. I still recommend the store for its products and staff overall, but I hope (specific) management treats any future unusual issues like mine with a little more grace, understanding and an overall just nicer demeanor.

We woke up a little late so called to check if they could change our appointment from 11 to 12 they said no. We completely understand as they probably are super busy. We rushed to get here in time. We made it 10 minutes before 11. We found a parking spot in front of the establishment. We notice someone else was waiting outside, she told us no one was here, door was closed. We checked, yes no one was there. We decided to wait till 11, then we decided to call, a lady answered, she said she would be there in a few minutes, few minutes turned to 30 minutes. We called back I was sent to voicemail. It was a hot day out, she finally arrived, we had to sign a waver. Finally time to have some fun, she walked with us outside and tells us how to get to the beach where they will meet us with the equipment. :( after not allowing us to change the time, her being late 30 minutes and now they don't offer transportation!!!! Good thing it was only a 10-15 minute walk. When we arrived we had to wait about 5 minutes. Our Groupon was for two hour kayak for two. We arrived at 11.50am. My husband and I had a lot of fun in the ocean. Two hours is more than enough. Also for our first time not bad, we got the hang of it right away. The ocean was really clear, not too many waves. It is a busy area a lot of kayaks and paddle boarding also a lot of scuba divers so you do have to keep up an eye where you go. So after our two hour kayak they where in time to pick up the equipment. They arrived at 1.50pm exactly lol. We walked back to our car and notice another group off ppl waiting... how sad. Over all I had so much fun in the ocean. I would not recommend this place. Or would use it again. Sad part is that we told about 5 of our friends about this place and they also bought the Groupon. So now we have to let them know...

I really like their new store as the interior is twice as large and you now have great parking. It's far better than the old 24th Street location. Sailorman is not your ordinary marine supply and equipment store. They have both new and used items here for sale and if you have an item you no longer need, they might be interested in purchasing it from you. What's really special about the place are the prices. Often time less than on third of what the same may be at West Marine. Braided docking lines, for example, at around $9.00 when the same at West are $29.00. And as a tip, if you're making the purchase of a big ticket item like a windless, don't hesitate to make an offer of slightly less than the tagged price. I have and they've been more than happy to accept it.
