Though it say "& Tackle," tackle is the afterthought. What Aces is and what it excels in is bait. It has every kind of live or frozen bait you'll ever need for fishing the ocean and water areas of South Florida, including live crabs, goggle eyes, shrimp and pilchards. Also rigged baits, fresh dead, fresh dead frozen, chum and for those travelers who left their fishing gear behind, rod and reel rentals at $15/day. I shop my bait here not only because of the reasonable prices, the vast selection and above average quality, but more so because their staff tends to be one of the best informational sources around. As they sell the bait, they not only have a pretty good idea of what fish are hitting, what fish aren't hitting but exactly what bait they are hitting on.

REI Boca Raton -- More Than Just an Outdoor Store!…read more I really enjoyed visiting REI in Boca Raton. Located on Glades Road, this is the kind of store where you can walk in looking for one thing and end up discovering all kinds of products and ideas for enjoying the outdoors. REI carries an impressive selection of hiking and camping gear, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, water bottles and hydration equipment, bicycles and cycling accessories, hiking and running shoes, outdoor clothing, travel gear, paddling equipment, and much more. They also carry their own REI Co-op and Co-op Cycles products, along with many well-known outdoor brands. (REI) One thing that makes this location especially useful is the full-service bike shop. REI's trained bike-shop staff can help with bike maintenance and repairs, making the store more than simply a place to purchase equipment. The Boca Raton location also participates in REI's Re/Supply trade-in program, allowing members to trade eligible used outdoor gear for an REI electronic gift card. (REI) A fascinating history What I find particularly interesting about REI is how humble its beginnings were. REI was founded in 1938 by 23 friends who loved climbing and the outdoors. The founders, Lloyd and Mary Anderson, were looking for a better and more affordable ice axe. They eventually arranged to import quality Austrian ice axes and share them with their fellow outdoor enthusiasts. The original REI wasn't a huge store at all. The first retail location was essentially a shelf in a cooperative grocery store, with the founders using their attic for storage. What began with 23 outdoor enthusiasts eventually grew into a cooperative with millions of members. (REI) That history is still reflected in REI today. The company describes itself as a consumer cooperative whose purpose is to help people get outside, and its members remain an important part of the organization. (REI) And then there's the return policy! Another interesting part of the REI experience is its 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Currently, REI Co-op members generally have up to one year to return most items for a replacement or refund, while non-members generally have 90 days. There are exceptions, including certain outdoor electronics, and the guarantee doesn't cover ordinary wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage. Used gear must also be clean when returned. (REI) I think that kind of policy says something about the confidence REI has in the products it sells--and it gives customers an opportunity to actually use their gear and make sure it works for them. REI Boca Raton is definitely worth a visit, even if you're not a serious adventurer. There is something for hikers, cyclists, campers, travelers, runners, families, and anyone who simply enjoys spending time outdoors. What started in 1938 with 23 friends, an ice axe, and a shelf in a grocery store has become a remarkable outdoor co-op--and the Boca Raton store is one more chapter in that story. A great place to shop, learn, prepare for an adventure, and get inspired to spend more time outside!

The bicycle section has an array of models hanging from the ceiling and offers a full service bike repair shop. For only $30.00 anyone can become an REI member and receive 20% off of bike tuning and service rates. The "Employees In Action" wall photos depicted REI staff in action pictures of their own adventures. This was a thoughtful idea that forms a bond between customers and staff.

He gave us proper instruction on how to use the jet skis and what to do if we fell in the water. Each of us were provided with life jackets. Because we started off in the canal we were able to get comfortable on the jet skis before heading out to the ocean. Once in the ocean we were able to open the throttle and feel the speed. The early morning tour was a great option because the waters were calm. This tour had a balanced mix of faster speeds and also slower idle speeds in the canals which allowed for seeing all the sights. This tour started in Pompano Beach, came back around to Lighthouse Point down the ocean to Fort Lauderdale and back up through the canal. I was surprised at how long we were on the skis - for about 2.5 hours. We were satisfied with the timing but you'd also want to make sure you have proper sun protection. I also liked that the office KC Jet Ski is operated from had little extras to buy in case something was forgotten - waterproof phone cases, sunglass straps, sunglasses, etc. This was an awesome experience. Thank you KC Jet Ski & Watersports!
