Dick's is like a Supermarket for Sporting goods...pretty much anything you want that is related to active life or sports, you can find here...their prices are very competitive and there's an advantage to go to a place where it is a One Stop Shop....you can get everything you need under one roof. This store in the River Market shopping center is very convenient to us, only about 1.5 miles away...so easy to get to....large parking lot that is shared with many other stores. I found a nice heavy duty folding chair and some nice workout clothes on sale at this store... nice friendly staff, very busy....but friendly. Richard "Dick" Stack started the company as a fishing tackle store in Binghamton, New York, in 1948. He began with a $300 loan from his grandmother. Edward W. Stack and his siblings purchased Dick's from their father in the early 1980s, when the company had two locations in Upstate New York. Stack established a board of directors, opened additional stores, and relocated the company's headquarters to Pittsburgh in 1994. He became chairman and chief executive officer following his father's retirement in 1984, and led the company during its initial public offering in 2002. Dick's operated primarily throughout the Eastern United States, up to 2009, and has since expanded to the Pacific Northwest and West Coast. Dick's is the largest sporting goods retail company in the United States, with approximately 854 stores, as of 2020. The company's subsidiaries include Field & Stream, Golf Galaxy, and Public Lands, and, previously, Chelsea Collective and True Runner. In 2017, there were 690 Dick's stores, close to 100 Golf Galaxy locations, and approximately 30 Field & Stream stores.

This store has been here for several years, has a good sales team with plenty of staff and a huge sporting selection for everyone. It's not a specialty shop per say, but they have everything from golfing, to camping, to paddle boarding, to baseball/softball, all types of athletic wear, etc. Check out their website and you'll see they have a little bit of something for every sport, but they don't focus on any one in particular. This means you may have to find a specialty shop once in a while. But it's still a great store.

I found what I was looking for (ON MY OWN) but the service wasn't good. We walked in and the person at the front didn't acknowledge us. Walked to the shoe area and the guy didn't acknowledge us either. We literally had to approach him to ask for a size and when he did Bring us the shoe he said the shoes were ugly and walked away. Got to the register to purchase our item and another dry personality was in our presence. These folks could use some training on how to be FRIENDLY!

We removed all the grass in the backyard and planted peanuts. The perennial peanut ground cover is coming in, in thick patches, making it hard to see lizards, snakes, toads, duck eggs, etc. I needed a pair of rubber boots so that I could walk more confidently in the space, without worrying about anyone nipping my ankles. Dicks had rubber boots that were comfy. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for boots to wear to garden so the $15 price tag was a STEAL. The clerk was very helpful and made our shopping experience a joy. We were walking to the front of the store to check out and I said those magic words that credit card companies love, "hey, do you want to look around for anything else?" That $15 order morphed into a nearly $130 bill! We got buy-one-get-one-half-off fishing lure boxes to use for our vitamins (works like a charm and only needs to be refilled 12x a year). We got a new lunch bag for my husband and a Yeti ice pack. We got a Yeti thermos cup and lid with a seal. Hey, we got things we wanted and needed so it was a good thing. The store has a lot to offer - clothes, freeze-dried camping foods, etc. The clerk at the register was very friendly (this former Coloradoan loved our hats) and checked us out quickly, while greeting customers entering the store. We got great help, loved their inventory selections and prices, and moved on with our day. I'd return in a heartbeat - but right now, I have gardening to do!

This entry for Dick's would appear to be a duplicate of the more popular which has of this date 22 reviews to it: https://www.yelp.com/biz/dicks-sporting-goods-fort-lauderdale The only difference, other than the number of reviews is that the other site spelled "DICK'S" all in capital letters. And yes, I've report this as a duplicate suggesting a merger of the two. Located in what was once a Winn Dixie Super Market, Dick's Sporting Goods is huge. Also, with the sudden closing of its rival Sports Authority store, it's now our only big box sports store in the area of North Federal. They have a real good line and selection in fishing equipment at prices that are lower than you'll find in tackle shops. The prices on their other sporting equipment also seem to be better than you'll find elsewhere but on somethings like Yeti Coolers and camping equipment, somewhat on the high side as compared to Bass Pro or West Marine. At least that seemed to be the case when I was last at Dick's.

Dick's Sporting Goods is really your go to store for anything sporty! They really seem to have everything covered. The store is expansive with a separate Pro Golf section. They also offer outdoor recreational gear, so go ahead and shop for a kayak or fishing trip. All major sports are covered, soccer was our focus on this trip, and we scored! More of a spectator? They have chairs. Need running gear? They have that too! They even have GU. They actually have a decent variety of single energy gels, protein bars, and candies. They have a decent variety of athletic apparel for every taste. I liked their selection of College and NFL shirts. The prices are comparable to most athletic stores, watch for sales! The staff is helpful. On this particular visit, Taylor was great, and offered to help us figure out the world of soccer socks. Yes, there are many. I know, crazy right?! Overall, great store for all of your fitness needs!

Dicks is no secret. It's a big chain, so common sense says it would have less of a personal touch. And this location at least, proves that wrong. I have been by a few times for this and that. I was just in the other day to check in for a marathon being held locally. I got that done quickly so I had time to roam around and look at some things. I checked out the shoes(nice guy working that dept) and the outdoor department. I then swung through golf and tennis. I remembered I needed a new tennis racket. It had been a dozen years since I started using the current racket and in was pretty sure it was more like 20 years old. This place had all the different rackets that I had googled. I looked up on line top 5 racquets for intermediate skill and they carried all of them. The prices good but they were higher end rackets. I googled up a coupon discount for Dicks but I want sure they would take coupon I had found on my phone. My coupon didn't work. But the fella at the counter found a similar discount code in his system and gave me that discount. It was a kind gesture and came with great service. Overall I'm not sure it could have been a better experience. Definitely a top of the line sports store.

Brand new, this Dick's just opened. It's in the location where the Winn Dixie used to be and it's a big improvement because that wasn't a very nice store. We got a a coupon in the mail and popped over to check it. Fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for the outdoors, even if you're not planning to play sports. They have tents and kayaks and tons of camping equipment. And then the sports stuff. Baseball, basketball, golf and all of that. Plus shoes and shirts and shorts and more. All very neatly organized and prices are clearly marked. Prices... well... they're a little on the medium to high side.

I came here looking for some new workout apparel as I was running early for my workout at Pure Barre which is in the same shopping plaza. The apparel choices were not too exciting. There was Nike, New Balance and this singer Cary Underwood has her own line. But unfortunately nothing grabbed me. Prices were high even on the sale racks. The only special I had seen was on Nike oversized tanks at $19.99. Nothing too exciting or gave me reason to buy anything. I looked over the ladies golf equipment and apparel and it only got worse. Very generic and ordinary they had golf clubs on special $199. a set with bag included not the best of brands. I hate to say it but they have more choice on Amazon as we just got a set for my step son for his birthday. I see no reason for me to ever return let alone not one associate even approached me as I walked the entire store.

An interesting experience nonetheless. I want to start by saying the women I spoke to before coming…read moreand after the incident was very lovely and apologetic. Now, this was the first time I've came to this location and will definitely be the last time. The only reason I came to this range was I grabbed lunch with a great friend at Top Hat Delicatessen and it was down the street. Before entering the shop the sign makes it clear you cannot enter with a loaded concealed carry weapon, not a problem; I proceeded to take out my magazine and place my carry weapon into my range backpack before entering. As I walk in its dark but I can hear gun fire from the range so I pullout my earmuff from my backpack while standing in the lobby when I'm interrupted by a greeting by a man brandishing his firearm stating "what do you want motherf***". I slowly turned around to see him standing behind another counter with his weapon locked and loaded. I advised him that I spoke to a woman about shooting at the range and his response was "she's not here, what do you want motherf***" I proceeded to explain again I'm here to shoot at the ranger. The man at the counter proceeded to call me motherf**** a few more times and to sign this paperwork. I proceeded to advise that the language was unnecessary and I'm good on using there gun range. I asked what his name was (which he refused to provide) then I left wishing him a great day. I would not recommend coming to this facility over better, friendlier, and more professional locations like Gunworld, Revere Gun range, and declarations defense.

Looked up online for live shiners to purchase. This place came up a lot of times and had good…read morereviews. I decided to try them out. The first time I went they were out of medium sized shiners, but after looking at them the smaller ones were good size. I went to the lake and they were great lots of action to them. I probably caught 6-7 bass with them. The next time I went I went early in the AM just when they opened at 6am they had medium sizes in and they did not disappoint in size. My only regret was catching little dinks with them on such a good size shiner. Good guys inside as well easy to talk to and ask question. This will be my go to going forward for live bait. They also had a good selection of items inside.

There are some choice fishing spots around the Plantation/Sawgrass/Davie/Weston areas, and this shop is on the way to many of them. I was in town visiting my family and wanted to take my kids fishing, and nothing works better than some live shiners for whatever might be swimming in the lakes and canals of Plantation. I grabbed two kids combos at Walmart and a couple dozen shiners, and we SLAYED the peacocks with a few nearing the 3lb mark. I'm not sure who was having more fun, the kids or me as I helped them land these beasts on the lightest of tackle, including a silly push button Paw Patrol rod with only two eyelets! Like everything, bait has gotten expensive, about $20/dozen, but the smiles on the kids faces and these memories are worth every penny! I am so glad I had the time to make this happen for all of us, and that BJ's was still there to get us what we needed! So if you want to go, this is the spot to stop. The shop has everything you need to get outside and all the advice to go with it. Go fish!
