The owner or manager indicated that he recently ran a marathon and wore the $250.00 sneakers on display, they literally weighed six ounces. Anyways, it was a good story. Aside from sneakers, they offer sandals from Oofos and Spenco. A few styles of dri fit running shirts and socks. I have extremely flat feet and currently have posterior tibial tendinitis. Ricky did a great job fitting me and helping me find a sneaker that fit. Unfortunately they were out of stock in most of the colors I would have wanted so I had to get them elsewhere. read more

I went inside to look at bicycle helmets and I was very surprised at the variety and selection this store had. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store has been around since 1986, so many years of supporting and providing sporting gear for the Fort Lauderdale community. There were great looking T-shirts, sneakers, sandals, fitness monitor wristbands, bicycles for sale, helmets, backpacks, etc... For a small store in a strip mall across the Galleria, the inventory of goods was really good and surprising. I saw many top brand products from Accel Gel, ASICS, Balega socks, Brooks, Feetures!, Garmin, GU, goodr, Hammer Nutrition, HOKA, Honey Stinger, lululemon, Mizuno, Nathan, New Balance, Saucony (which is my favorite brand of sneakers), Spenco, Sorbothane, Superfeet and Thorlo. Personal service and attention was very nice and unexpected, very helpful in choosing the correct pair of sneakers for my lifestyle. Guided me to the correct brands for my foot width and arches, ended up with the Hoka brand. Quite frankly, these were the MOST COMFORTABLE sneakers/shoes I have ever felt. Terrible I bought a $200 pair of shoes and never wore than tried to return them within 2 weeks of buying which policy is within 30 days and was told I wore them and they won't return there was one spot on the shoe they were never worn. A great local place to support! We stopped by to browse for some running shoes and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted and assisted right away. I told them I was looking for some sneakers that I could run in and also do HIIT, because evidently I was doing all of that in shoes that were meant for walking. I originally asked to see their Saucony selection, but ultimately bought some Brooks. I tried on a few pairs and the gentlemen who helped me were so patient and gave great advice on running and the type of shoe needed for support. I walked out a happy customer and more knowledgeable. We also found out they host a two mile run every Tuesday that ends at a bar! So we're looking into joining that one of these days. It takes a lot for me to visit a physical store these days when I can buy anything online...however the 40 minute drive to Running Wild could not have been more worth my time. I walked in to the store and was immediately greeted and helped. I took off my shoes and ran across the store and was asked if I ever got blisters in a specific place on my foot. It felt like he was psychic because I do in fact only ever get blisters in that specific place. He had me try a few pair of shoes to stabilize my foot and I immediately fell in love with the first pair (which came in the exact colors I requested). He showed me how to put them on and tie them properly and I was in and out within about 15 minutes. In general I have no problem paying a little more for excellent service and to support a local business. However, out of curiosity I checked the price online and couldn't find the shoes I bought anywhere for a cheaper price! I have a $$ store credit, but couldn't use it, they sad was not on the computer, when they gave the credit I was told I wouldn't need any receipt to redeem it, just show my iD with my name and would be able to locate, well, that didn't happen, plus I was treated like a fraud. I hate to say it but they are not a runner's running store. The selection is too slim. They always look like they are going out of business and with good reason. I was looking for a stable shoe, they had two, the one they pushed was the Brooks Beast which weighed a ton and was not good at all. I did my own homework and moved into the Hoka Arahi bought from REI (perfect). I've tried them a few more times to support local but they didn't have layers or rain jackets. The worse is they give off the snooty, "I'm a real runner" vibe which is a turn-off. It's a business at the end of the day....do better at faking being a humble human or go broke. A follow up on a previous post. I bought a nice pair of sandals, unfortunately they tore within 3-4 months of purchasing. The owner said there was nothing he could do as it was beyond their 30 day return policy. Oofos, the manufacturer saw a post on Facebook and immediately responded. According to the manufacturer, they have a 6 month warranty and have stepped up to remedy the situation. Because Running Wild was too lazy to address this themselves, they've lost a customer. I had arthroscopic surgery a year ago and my knee never really recovered from it. Week after week of Physical Therapy only got me so far. I was recommended to try a new sneaker that would give me more support so I yelped and found Running Wild. I explained my issue and they took my foot measurements and just 4 pairs the pain had subsided! They had me walk around the store to measure my gait and we decided that the Brooks was the best for me. The price was fair and later research shows me I could not buy the Brooks on line any cheaper. Easily accessible location, convenient parking, very neatly arranged store. Prompt friendly greeting. Split opinion on the sales assistance. Here's why. My podiatrist recommended a particular brand of sneaker which the older sales associate flat out told me, No, that brand wasn't a good fit for me, supposedly too narrow. When I asked him are they available in wide, he replied, yes, but quickly flat out said he wouldn't order the wide because he doesn't know how they would fit. In hindsight, I now realize how intense pain can warp one's mental clarity. Because after several doses of anti-inflammatory medicine for my ailing foot and further reflection on the sales associate's comment, it dawned on me that has to be the most nonsensical advice that I've ever accepted. The sneakers the sales associate recommended and I eventually purchased are not the most stylish, but are comfortable. I regret I didn't comparision shop to get them less expensively elsewhere. End Note: I went online and ordered a pair of the sneakers my podiatrist originally recommended. The wide width fit fine and cost a lot less than the sneakers I bought from RW. read more

We usually go to the chain stores (Dick's Sporting Goods, Sports Authority) to look for running shoes. While the staff at these stores are helpful if you can find them they are not really knowledgeable. So we took a chance and looking for a specialty running store...... We found Running Wild on East Sunrise Blvd and hit the mother load! Robert was our salesman. A very knowledgeable, former professional pilot who just happens to be a track coach at one of the surrounding schools. He started with my wife. Had her walk up and down the store while watching her feet and posture. Then he came up with shoe options and explained how they support her foot and had her walk around. After about 15 minutes she found the shoes that felt great and supported her foot properly. Then he had me do the same and examined my asics which I had brought with me. He examined the shoes and explained the wear pattern. He had me try on different pairs of Brooks running shoes and I could immediately feel the difference between the various models as well the major difference from my asics. Now your probably wondering about the price. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. The shoes averaged about $140.00 but with Brooks you have thirty days and if your not happy with them you can return them. Bottom line is we had a great experience, we were no pushed into any specific shoes and were fortunate enough to get a great salesman who educated us about running and shoe construction.
