Great place to learn any SCUBA needs! Inquired about a Groupon deal, he offered a better Summer Special for Open Water class w/ gear and education docs. Easy going class, stress free and professional. Kurt was so good I convinced my friend to do the Advanced class a week later! In the process of getting EAN/Nitrox now! I took a refresher course and my son took his open water with Kurt. Great choice, Kurt is funny and is a great instructor. He really knows how to relay the material in a way that's easy to understand and genuinely cares about your experience. The two boat dives were amazing we had an absolute blast. Took my Open Water Cert with Kurt and had a marvelous time. Kurt is perfect for students who are brand new or nervous because he's extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and safety oriented. For folks who already have some experience, he can take it to the next level with his tips and isn't afraid to give critiques to make you a better diver. Throughout my OW process, Kurt was flexible and communicated about weather or other issues that would prevent diving in a timely fashion. He worked with my schedule and my nerves with ease. His prices are fair as well. Highly recommend Scuba Dive It and Kurt. read more

Used their website to schedule several boat dives. I found it to be very user friendly with the ability to easily schedule what you want and when you want. I had a question about it and called the shop where I easily got my questions answered. They don't own the boats which makes the cooperation between shops imperative, which it was, and went off without a hitch. Very good group, especially Scuba Dive It's Terry E. who we had the pleasure to dive with. Highly recommend. read more

I am DM certified and have been diving with them for a few months now and I can honestly say the professional and staff at Scuba Dive It are the real deal. More than just a dive shop or a dive club and don't have the pretentiousness of other dive shops/clubs I have used. They truly become friends for regular customers and mentors if you are on the pro track. You always look forward to your dive and learn something new ever dive. Their rental equipment is brand new and high quality not that edge stuff. As far as the retail so far I've only bought an Aeris air link for my wife's BCD. Kurt not only got me the part cheaper than the online websites it arrived promptly and he installed it right away! My wife totally loves getting ride of on of her hoses! I did my PADI open water cert with Kurt in March 2019, and it was an awesome experience. He was able to fit me in with less than 24 hours' notice, and everything was perfect. He's been diving since the 70's, has tons of PADI certifications, and it shows. He's a professional, knows his stuff, and won't waste your time. His gear is high end (not the cheap stuff you'll get at other dive shops) and basically brand new. I was so happy with Kurt that I'll be getting my advanced cert with him in a couple weeks. I've wanted to get scuba certified for years and finally got an opportunity to go on a dive right after Christmas. Scuba Dive It was the only company I found that was flexible and offered multiple classes during the week so that I could quickly complete the open water certification in a short amount of time. The instructor and owner, Kurt, is knowledgeable and made me feel at ease right away. He was extremely patient and accommodating, allowing me to complete the underwater skills at my own pace. Additionally, the gear I purchased was top of the line and at reasonable prices. Pretty disappointed in the outfit. They piggyback on another dive shops boat which I don't have an issue with. However their information is not updated and their shop location is not what is shown on the receipt which wasted a morning of my time looking for the shop. I needed a partial gear rental which they offered when I booked the dive but they did not bother to show up the morning of the dive and let the boat owner do all the work. They also did not call ahead to let them know we are coming so we had to spend some time figuring out payment and reservation details once we arrived the morning of our dive. It would've been much simpler to book through the boat that was actually doing the dive and skipping this middleman. Finally I find their reviews suspect because they offer free dive if you give them good social media reviews. I can say that they do have a good website but aside from that I would go somewhere else. read more

Scuba Dive It is the ALL inclusive dive store in Broward County/Ft Lauderdsle/Pompano area. Owner operated both are very conscience of there customers and students. Offering it all from A-Z in diving. Air fills, Nitrox fills and dives, dive trips day and night. All levels of instruction, and multiple dive classes with the luxury of doing a lot of your class in the comfort of your own home, All equipment repairs and available equipment a sales. But beyond all that these guys are professional and love what they do, diving and teaching diving. If your wanting to learn or want to plan a dive trip in my opinion these are the guys to see. We provide this rating based off the information on…read morewebsite and details prior to booking, viewing glass (one companion did not snorkel), was advised to get to shop to share my concerns; however, one of my companions was in a rush to leave so I'm sharing here, and level of confidence if we needed help in the water. We beginners had expectations based on what was presented and these expectations weren't met; such as correct arrival time and its purpose (we could have arrived at 10:00), wearing a swim cap, sunscreen to wear to protect the reefs, when to take Dramamine. After inquiring about it when we were out on the water. First mate John discussed the timing of when to use Dramamine (night before and an hour or hour and a half before getting on boat) and that there is not any on the the boat and it would not be effective. Dramime instructions should be just as clear as the waiver that if you take this risk no one is responsible for the outcome and it extends to your heirs. He further stated I would need to go to "the shop" to pick up the Dramamine that was purchased while booking in addition to speaking to them about detailed preparation instructions. We did appreciate the Captain saying that he would provide something to smell and suggested focusing on a particular thing if motion sickness occurs. I did not get the vibe that first mate John was prepared or willing to go in the water to rescue if he had to. I did not stay in water long, I could not relax as I had a hard time with blowing air out, and inhaling salt water. I attempted twice and exhausted myself. In those brief moments I saw grey or silver fish, nothing as beautiful as when I was in the ocean years ago (pollution sure has damaged this ecosystem) . My two other companions stayed out for a little bit and did not see a variety of fish, or any other marine life that wows. The two viewing squares were not clear like glass. A disappointment for our companion that did not snorkel. Captain was clear on his instructions and expectations! When we ended the the Captain mentioned buying things to protect the reefs; I want to reiterate I do not recall this being communicated prior to booking. My hope is that beginners see this and are more informed than we were and that those responsible for updating instructions would include these tips.

His son had no idea about the booking but told me he confirmed we were good to go. I still couldn't get ahold of Jerry. Finally a week before the trip I called and Jerry answered. He was extremely condescending, scolding me for not following up on the booking and saying he "never heard back from me" in such a rude and misogynistic tone. He changed his tune really quick when I told him I have been trying to get a hold of him for at least a month, and also spoke to his son who confirmed the dives (he had no idea). He then expected me to still trust his professionalism and use his service. No thanks. As a business owner I find it appalling to scold your potential clients for YOUR own neglect. Do better.

The captain did a great job staying with us on the drift dives and picking us up. They provided great snacks and encouraged us to drink as much water or soda as we needed. Skip was a great deckhand and helped us find everything we needed. We even met Fred(erika) the pelican and my wife had a lifetime wish fulfilled getting close to and feeding a pelican. Overall we loved our time on the Aqualife with Skip and the captain and look forward to being on their boat again next trip!!

do not recommend diving with this operator due to multiple serious safety concerns, poor…read moreorganization, and unprofessional customer service. I prepaid for a two-tank Nitrox dive approximately one week before the trip. When I arrived at the boat, there were no Nitrox tanks available for me despite my reservation and prepayment. Brad repeatedly counted tanks and passengers but could not determine why my tanks were missing. It was eventually discovered that another diver had taken the tanks I had reserved and paid for, set up his gear, and used them without having a prior reservation or payment. Rather than reclaiming the tanks that had been reserved for me, Brad arranged to use tanks that a friend happened to have in the back of his car. These replacement tanks raised several concerns. They were not properly labeled, had no visible inspection stickers, and there was no way for me to know when they had last been inspected, serviced, or how they had been filled. One tank had a damaged O-ring that required replacement before it could be used. Additionally, the replacement tanks were not secured when brought aboard. One fell over onto the deck, causing the valve handle to break off. This seemed to me that the handle had been corroded. I was also inconvenienced by having to reconfigure my gear to accommodate a steel cylinder instead of the tank type I had reserved. After the first dive, I set up for the second dive and discovered that my replacement tank contained only 2,500 PSI rather than a full fill. When I brought this to Brad's attention, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. I explained that I had reserved and paid for full Nitrox tanks and expected to receive what I had purchased. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, he became confrontational and aggressively stated that he would "comp the tanks." The most concerning issue occurred after the second dive. The boat began departing the pickup location while two divers were still in the water, visible at the surface with their dive flag. Brad had to shout to the captain that divers were still in the water, forcing the captain to stop and reverse course to retrieve them. Starting the engine and moving the vessel while divers are still in the water is an extremely serious safety concern and could have resulted in severe injury or worse. The trip concluded with passengers being required to climb approximately five feet from the boat to the dock using an unstable ladder, creating yet another safety concern. Overall, this operation appeared poorly organized and inadequately prepared for foreseeable issues. There were no readily available backup tanks, equipment handling practices were questionable, and customer service was lacking. Most importantly, several situations raised significant safety concerns that no diver should have to experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this operator.

The following day, we were off to Tigertail Lake not too far away. Note: even though it was close to 90, the water temp was 76! Be prepared. Final dives were again in Tigertail due to uncooperative weather. Through the staffs instruction, I feel confident and comfortable being underwater and they truly care about each individuals progress and success. The owner at Underseas Sports said he would take it to his aqualung rep for me. it took some time but he had his aqualung rep actually find the last of these watches around and got the screws for me. He then brought the watch to the dive watch doctor who fixed the watch with the screws he sourced then mailed it back to me. They saved a $500 dive watch that the manufacturer refused to support. I cannot thank the team at underseas sports enough. If I could give them 6 stars, I would.

The paths are well marked and wide. There are benches along the paths. There are picnic tables and water fountains on the island. The trails are appropriate for most abilities. The island is well shaded. There are a few butterfly statues which make for a nice photo op. You catch the shuttle boat at Sullivan Park, it runs on the hour between 10 and three Friday through Sunday. Parking is convenient ( and free) in the large lot. If you have children you could also visit Sullivan Park. Local lore has it that Al Capone buried some treasure here although it has never been found. You can see all the island in about an hour but could make a day of it with a picnic lunch.

I did an Open Water Certification that I found on Groupon. At first I thought it was going to be a "let me sell you everything I can" kind of gig, but Kurt was very knowledgeable and even after researching equipment, he does have the best price on a lot of things! I didn't have a wetsuit going into this since I figured, "I'm not sure if I'll even like this and besides, it's Florida- how cold can it be?" - YOU NEED A WETSUIT. Do not even question it! Kurt can hook you up! As far as the dives and course itself went: I had an absolute blast and learned so much through this course. The lake dives helped prepare the group with the main basics and just getting comfortable under in the water. We were well-prepared for the ocean dives and everyone unanimously had a great time. The group I trained with was great, which definitely helped. Kurt is definitely a very patient guy, though. I don't know how he puts up with some people... I will absolutely be returning to this shop for future dives and hopefully additional courses. It was a fantastic experience and I'm glad I did it. read more

Since my grandfather retired and bought a place in Florida I decided to leave NJ for the winter and enjoy the warm weather in South Florida! I was already open water certified and wanted to advance my certifications so I found ScubaDive It on groupon and I've been diving weekly with Kurt since then - September 2018. I can confidently say that you are in good hands diving with Kurt. He makes me feel safe during my dives and will stay close to me or talk me through my occasional anxiety. I have used other companies and instructors in the past and feel the safest when diving with Kurt. Additionally, Kurt offers super competitive pricing that makes diving affordable on my extended getaway. So far I've done some training with him at a local lake, we've done shore dives, and boat dives, incorporating drift diving and seeing a lot of wrecks like the Lady Luck, RSB1, Ancient Mariner, RD25 and the trek wreck dive. I highly recommend diving with him if you're not sure where to begin or if you're looking to advance your diving skills and you're in the South Florida area! read more

I've been searching for a long time to get scuba certified, but for me it's very hard to find time away from work. Until I came across scuba dive it, they offered the open water course that was offered three consecutive days. It was conveniently offered every weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This made life so much easier, compared to other places that would spread it over the course of two weeks or only offered it on certain weekends. As for the experience itself, it's definitely crossed off the bucket list. Not only crossed off, but I plan on going back and continuing my education to advance level. I don't only want to make this a one time experience, I want to turn into into a lifestyle. Kurt, our instructor and owner of the company showed me a whole new life in the water. He made sure to keep me safe but making it so much fun as I learn. There was never a dull moment with him, whether it was in the classroom or open waters. If you want to be treated like family and get the best experience for your time and money. This shop is a MUST visit. Not just for the dive trips but the equipment in store is wonderful and they don't beat around the bush with what is going to be the best for what they know you are looking for. Had a great experience with these guys! Got my Nitrox certification with them and Kurt was so wonderful in answering all my questions with the education and making sure I fully understood what I was learning. Tim was great in making sure my practical experience was one of the best. Got more education through this shop than any other I have ever gotten a certification through and will be coming back for future certifications and dive trips! Next stop Master Diver! I received my PADI open water certification last weekend from Kurt, AKA Aqua Man. The guy is a great teacher - he takes the time to make sure everyone truly understands what we are doing and why we are doing it, and makes it extremely easy to feel comfortable during the whole process. I was truly impressed with his patience and dedication to the entire group - we had a teenager that was struggling pretty hard the whole time, but Kurt slowed down the class and took the time to make sure that the kid felt comfortable and didn't feel embarrassed or rushed. You could tell he truly cares about the well being of his students. It was easy to see that Kurt was far beyond the skill set and training capabilities of most of the other diving instructors that we came across. If you have any interest in diving whatsoever, this is the guy that you want to go with. read more

Our 13 year old son has been obsessed with marine life since he was 5 years old. We finally agreed to let him PADI certified. After researching the many dive companies in our area (Miami/Fort Lauderdale) we chose Scuba Dive It. Kurt made it an amazing experience for our son. He is very friendly and entertaining, as well as extremely knowledgeable about diving, marine life, etc. He even helped our son retrieve his first "treasure"! Most importantly to us, Kurt is very safety conscious. After this experience, we have complete confidence in Kurt and his ability to teach our son safely while still making it a great experience. I ran into this scuba school while looking for different alternatives and the price looked better than most (if not all) of the other options I came across. Kurt was kind enough to reschedule for me several times due to an inconvenient that I had with my car that limited my mobility. My experience with this course was great. You are expected to read the books before the class and know what they are talking about, but he's a great instructor who is patient enough to go through every section and make sure everyone understands before moving on. He's knowledgeable and very serious about his job, all while being a very pleasant person to be around. Overall it was a great experience. Este fin de Semana tuve la oportunidad de certificarme como un buceador en aguas abierta por medio de PADI y con la ayuda de Kurt Schaffer en su local ubicado en Deerfield Beach fl, tomo solamente un fin de semana de viernes a domingo y alcanzamos a tener buceada en total, la verdad pensé que iba a tener problemas con tanta información en tan poco tiempo pero Kurt fue excelente en todos los aspectos, me explico paso a paso toda la información por aprender, se tomó su tiempo en explicar preguntas que tenía y al siempre me sentí muy seguro de estar con el y mi familia en el agua. SCUBA Dive It is a one-stop shop for instruction, gear, equipment repair, dive trips and even interesting stories. Kurt is an amazing Instructor and an all-around great guy! ScubaDiveIt and Kurt are both INCREDIBLE!!!!! I recently got my diving certification, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Kurt is legit the best of the best. I could not have asked for someone more qualified or fun to learn from. I am certainly going back to get my advanced dive certification soon. As an added bonus he won't push anything on you to buy unless he thinks you need it (We were diving in colder weather so he suggested a wet suit and I am so grateful I took his advice or I would have been frozen solid by the end. ) AND he has the best prices on gear. My younger sister and I just recently completed our Advanced Open Water Certification with Kurt at Scuba Dive It. Kurt is a phenomenal instructor and was beyond accommodating with us. We called looking to book the course on pretty short notice, and I bartend so it is hard for me to do a lot of weekend diving. Kurt put together a custom schedule, and got us diving on days that worked for our funky work hours...and it was all on pretty short notice to boot. We came from Arkansas. When I scheduled my original dive trips, Kurt stayed on the phone with me and walked me thru the whole process. We spoke for around 45 minutes. Once we got to Florida, Tim has met us at the dock everyday. He went out with us and treated us just like family. Best dive shop in south Florida! I've been diving down here for 2 years and don't think I'll be using any other shop. I did my advanced open water this weekend and had a blast. My 15-year-old son was a little reticent about jumping into scuba diving. I signed him up for an open water course with Kurt at scuba dive it. From start to finish he was professional, thorough, and made my son feel completely comfortable in the water and now he is certified. My son truly did not think he had it in him to do it however Kurt was patient, encouraging, and took safety very seriously. Upon going into the shop to begin the process, we were informed that on top of the original Groupon purchase, there was an ADDITIONAL $260 to pay. This is for the PADI online course, wetsuit rental, purchase of an underwater writing tablet, and a boat dive. Do the math....thats $440 for a $179 Groupon. Now I know scuba diving is expensive, but surprising customers with $260 on top of the original purchase is wrong. There is no indication of extra $260.00 on Groupon.

I also had them replace the low-profile buddy reg with like. When I picked-up my octo, they had replaced my buddy reg with the CHEAPEST one they sell -- not a low-profile as I requested. This is where they told me it would cost me more $$$ to get my octopus back in the condition I brought it to them. After paying them $$$, I take the octo home and discover they didn't test the new configuration! Not happy with their service.

Paula showed me everything I needed to know about diving. We went to the pool first and she was amazing in teaching me all the safety techniques in diving. Then we went to the shore dive and that was spectacular, she was very helpful and patient with me in showing me the proper techniques in diving in the ocean. Then 25 minutes into the dive and I got see sick really bad. She did everything in her power to make sure I made it to the shore safe. She went above and beyond to even make sure I made it home safe by driving me home in my car and taking Uber back to Force-E. She did not have to do all of that and I am so appreciative of her. Thank you, Paula. I am looking forward to my next dive session. Paula deserves recognition for being an outstanding dive instructor and a very kind person. I will definitely go to Force-E for all my scuba needs.

After dark the pier lights up and the lighting is just perfect for those soft shots. I was lucky it was a cloudy day and so I still got some clouds in my pictures as the sun came down. I need to comeback with a better camera. This was a nice long pier. It had bathrooms at the entrance. It wasn't crowded. They charge a low fee. I think it was worth the money. The parking is public. A garage is nearby. I saw some street parking also. This area does get crowded.

That said, the scenery alone makes it worth the visit. The sound of the waves, the ocean breeze, and the gorgeous shoreline create a peaceful place to unwind. There is a Walgreens and a convenience store across the street to load up on supplies and snacks. If you're just walking the sand or enjoying the view, Fort Lauderdale Beach is a lovely spot to spend some time and appreciate the beauty of the Atlantic.

The coolest part was walking in the morning and seeing the endangered sea turtles protection areas everywhere. I even saw a turtle early in the morning making it's way back into the ocean.Pretty cool!! We were fortunate enough to have a private beach due to hotel stayed at so was not busy with locals. Yoga class on the beach was spiritual and made for a Zen start of day.Stand up paddling was a must although it was very choppy that day.My old surfing skills luckily came in handy so only a few falls off board. An excellent course for South Florida…read more I first came here a year or so ago, and didn't think much of the course. I was only able to get a few holes in as I had a work thing come up. There was a few groups of people and I honeslty prefer a course where there isn't people in the way so we can go at a decent pace. I've been back a few times lately though when I'm in the area and its grown on me quickly. And that's not just because I'm starting to put good scores up there. It a nice easy dribe into the Delray Regional Park. there is usually people picniking or walkign dogs or in the far back there is a popular RC plane flying area. Just past that is the beautiful Disc park. It starts out with about 9 holes of play in the woods. The back 9 is more open though. Its a great mix of shots. left right, par 3 and a few par 4's. I think its 16 that you have to whip it across a pond, but its a short distance. It grew on me, and it probably will for you too. And its the only course in that area, so may as well learn to like it.
