It's west marine. They price match with Amazon if they are selling it through Amazon idk . But the kind lady looked at my phone and said yes I can match some Starbright stuff in a pinch . This West Marine location is sort of a satellite store, nothing at all compared to its flagship store on Andrews. One might look upon it as a boater's convenience store. The selection in clothing, fishing tackle, electronics & etc. though large remains rather basic by comparison. Then, if you are a price comparative shopper, you know that Marine West is one of the pricier stores for boating needs. Indeed, I only shop at West Marine for items I can't find at lower priced retail boating centers such as Sailorman or Boat Owners Warehouse (BOW). Like all West Marine stores, however, everything is well displayed, the facility is neat, orderly, and clean as well as staffed with a knowledgeable, polite sales staff. read more

This store holds up pretty well however they have ONE huge issue. And it's a short miserable sales associate with glasses. I had everything situated and explained thoroughly, so I thought. The next day I come in, everyone was as pleasant as yesterday except this guy. He not only has the audacity to speak down to me like an idiot but also try's to repeat himself as if he's not being understood (nobody asked for repetition), when in fact he's the one misunderstanding the rebuttal I provide. I purchased this one item and sadly I rather return it and not deal with this ignorant clerk/associate/manager whatever he is , and cut off all business because he really made such a sweet experience sour within 5 minutes of being back in that store. I refunded and will NEVER come back/purchase/recommend. Do better West Marine, you need to have a team meeting on how to speak to customers. Especially the ones who are NOT trying to cause issues, if I came with attitude his tone would have made sense. However not only was I understanding I let him speak over me and repeatedly had to reiterate myself so that maybe with clarification he would calm down and understand. He did not. I was going to leave and come back, I decided I didn't want to support any business with terrible customer service like that. They're not cheap either, I went down the street. Most helpful and friendliest Marine shop in two counties. I went to four places, from Delray to Ft. Lauderdale. This is the West Marine store in Pompano where I purchased my kayak, paddle and other equipment and the sales people that helped me. We all hugged goodbye. I will definitely shop at West Marine in the future! read more

Just left this location about 30mins ago, & was EXTREMELY dissatisfied! If you're a "person of color" needing Marine supplies, & simply wanting to browse their store, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT even consider this location or maybe any of their locations. I don't think they're used to seeing anyone, other than Whites, owning a Boat or shopping there. We barely walked into the Store before were accosted with, "what can I help you guys find today"? Before my husband could say anything I immediately said, "Can we look, I mean is it OK to look". We were followed throughout the Store constantly being asked, "What can I help you find, What can I help You find"? Then an older Gentlemen made certain my husband KNEW he was "watching", & blurted out sarcastically, "How Are You". It's like, if they didn't turn us around at the door, by the time you get to the back of the Store, you won't purchase anything & leave. Funny thing is we SAW exactly what we needed, but, they were RIGHT, we took our GREEN MONEY elsewhere (Boat Owners WareHouse), & spent it. Was disappointed that I drove all the way from Coral Springs and it says ur open and you were not!

I am not gonna say this store is terrible but the young group of kids they have working are not trained very well or at all. They also take advantage of people as my son went into the store and asked for rope he was told the only rope they had cost 15 bucks. Once the worker left he looked around and found it for 5 bucks. Not a very nice store and very overpriced I will be sticking to my local bait shop. Aces bait and tackle where the people are knowledgeable nice and the stuff is CHEAP. read more

My worst experience at West Marine. I have purchased all my trolling equipment, rods, riggs ect. from West Marine. Went to the Pompano Beach store, although it is further from me than the Deerfield Beach store, to have a few of my rods, which I have purchased at West Marine, spooled. We were sent to the back to ask for Travis. Travis was helping someone so we waited about 10 minutes. The assistant manager her name was Robin came up and said that she could not pull Travis off the floor to spool our rods right now. I asked why it is not like the store was crazy busy actually there was only 1 other person in the store and 3 staff members i could see?? Robin stated we could pick it up later or tomorrow she also said since it was a free service she could not pull him. She should have checked our name and the amount of money we do spend at West Marine before she made that comment. Not any more! So much for their mission statement. read more
