However I was shocked today when I went to BOW to purchase a bellows (small plastic part for heads, looks like an accordion) I buy a lot of parts there and expect to pay a little more. However when I went to the cash register the girl told me the price was $173. I was shocked and didn't follow thru with purchase. I went out and looked on Amazon and found the same OEM part for $41, ordered it and will be delivered tomorrow. Love this place! Valuable advice, great selection and reasonably priced. They are my go to store when I need something fast!

My reasons for giving Boat Owners four stars are two. First off they have much better prices than do their closest competitor, West Marine on Federal. For example I noted a stainless steel cup holder of exactly the same make and model priced exactly at $10 less here than a West, and though if you tell West they will match any price, why bother? The second is that Boat Owners has a much better in stock supply of marine parts, also at a better price. I first went to West for an impellar, which they didn't have but offered to order, could have had it next day, but found it the as I have found other such parts in the past to be readily available and at a lower prices than quoted at West. I've also found Boat Owners to have a more knowledgeable staff when it comes to marine engine parts and marine hardware. As far as t-shirts, shoes and fishing accessories, West seems to have the edge, but for the real necessaires of boating and boat ownership, I've found Boat Owners the better choice. read more

During a recent visit to Boat Owners Warehouse at the Fort Lauderdale location, to purchase boat soap that my husband asked me to pick up. I was very disappointed by the way I saw a tall dark employee speaking to a lady employee in a very demeaning way while customers were present. Don't know if he is just an other employee or supervisor but he needs to be professional and not to speak to other employees in that manner. I am very unhappy to have come across that situation. Purchased $800 worth of marine audio equipment in February and had it professionally installed and was working beautifully for about a month or so. Appeared to have some event that caused all 4 speakers to blow, 2 at a time. When I called to check on store hours because of covid, I asked about return and clerk said to just bring in the receipt, which I did(drive from boynton). When I arrived they called a manager to front and she didn't greet me or even make eye contact, she had her arms folded and waited for me to say something! She then proceeded to tell me that I had to send back to manufacturer because it was past 30 days! They could have saved me a trip by telling me that Over the phone! Oh well, my loss! Zero customer service here and I made the drive down there for the good selection and the thought that I was supporting a local business! I also run a business and would never treat a customer like that! There was more said but I won't bore with details! Walked into the Pompano beach BOW this morning to purchase some cleaning supplies and a bilge pump switch. Cashier gave me the total of my purchase and asked me to chip my card. I placed the card in the chip reader and it said chip error, I then asked the cashier to swipe my card,and her reply was, I can't do that we've had too many fraud problems. It's unfortunate that the employees are not trained to ask their manager to help them with a situation such as this. If the cashier would have ask for assistance, the manager would have possibley recognized that I am a regular loyal customer of over 25 years in this location. The days of paying attention to your local customers, is gone. I will no longer have loyalty to BOW as a retail supplier of my boating needs. Went in there and was greeted by a lovely older gentleman with glasses. He was extremely on the ball and very kind. The woman behind the desk was also very nice and patient.
