Allrighty! Away we go on my 46th Donair shop. What can I say...it's an addiction . 1st impression walking in. Clean. New. Simple...but that's just fine. Employee friendly enough My Super donair... $10. Fair price. With my obligatory water and garlic sauce...$12.50 plus tax. Not too shabby. So... Value was solid. Fair size for a reasonable size. Meat...kinda bland. Not bad. But lacking seasoning. Pita was fresh and held up. Tomato was actually under-ripe. Lettuce and onions spot on. Sweet sauce was hard to nail down. Despite watching it go on, and seeing it, the taste was just not really there. Garlic sauce, while "garlicy"...was alas, really salty. Verdict. Not too shabby. Not bad. But not great either. Enzo's serves a solid donair. Literally. For a regular donair, I would compare it's weight and size to that of a super donair at other locations. It was overflowing with meat. For $7.50, you are getting your money's worth. The flavour is what you'd expect from a GOOD donair. I ordered it with lettuce, onion, black olive, and sweet sauce. Cheese and hot peppers were an option but I just wasn't feeling it today. My sole hang up was it was light on sauce. I almost dropped a star for that alone. Worth a visit if you are in the area and needing a donair fix. read more

I travel through out Western Canada for work and was staying at the Holiday Inn Just down the street from this place I love a great Donair and when I seen it was close I was excited to try it Unfortunately it fell short of expectations The fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease and I don't know if it was the sauce or the meat but it tasted a little off I only ate a 1/4 of the Donair and left it just to be safe I gave 2 stars because the service was friendly and the place was clean I will not go back Kind of disappointed read more

Used to come here all the time. Last time I was in the owner skipped over the frying of the meat ; literally cut from spit and thrown into the pita while I washed my hands in the washroom. I didn't notice how light coloured the meat was until halfway through the donair. As you may know it is LAW to cook donair meat as the spit does not get hot enough to ensure there is no contamination. Hard to believe the owner could be so lazy and put somebody's health at risk to save literally one minute ! Needless to say I spent my weekend puking, seated on the toilet and sick to my stomach, will NEVER eat here again !!! read more

Could this be the best Donair place in Edmonton? Please note the emphasis on Donair, this isn't shawarma. I think it beats Urbanspoon's #1 Cheap Eats restaurant, Swiss Donair. So what separates Enzo's from every other Donair spot in town. 1) Fresh, soft pita bread! 2) They'll grill onions 3) Well-seasoned meat It's still greasy as can be, and I'd still take a shawarma from Al Salam over this, but I may now have a new favourite greasy lunch spot! read more

Was out looking for lunch and the sign got my eye. It's in a odd location but donair sounded good. Ordered the super donair to go. Service was quick. Disappointed in the actual size of the super. It is much smaller than the super donair you get anywhere else. The taste however was very good. Fresh meat, fresh veggies and the perfect sweet sauce. Very impressed with the flavour. Overall though not great value. $10.25 for a super that is the size of a regular anywhere else. Too bad. read more

Great donair, friendly service and super quick. I'll definitely be back. Yes yes, some of the reviews talk about how far out in the boonies this is... but some of us live in the boonies! It was a quick stop on my way home and I picked up my super donair to go so I could eat it the way donairs are meant to be eaten (at home standing over your kitchen sink because they are messy as hell and there's no chance at looking ladylike trying to eat them in out in public). I'm definitely going to be back (probably after one of my Bulk Barn sessions again, I always need refueling after the damage that store does to me!) so I can try out some of the other items on their short but sweet menu. Ample parking, great location (for those of us out west) and speedy service. Really, that's all you really want and need in a donair shop. read more

I liked the food and the donair meat and chicken was really good! The service was a little bit weird though. I know that sometimes people have off days but the person serving us really seemed like he wasn't that happy to be there. I get it people hate working but we were the only customers at the time, and he didn't even come out of hiding in the corner until we called out "hey!". Donair was rated 10/10 by my boyfriend so we will probably go back one day. read more

Massive donairs with nice tasty tender meat,fresh onions and great sauce . I love this place. Best donaire i've had in edmonton so far. His spiced -up fries are good too and always fresh and come hot. They always have a couple of Sun newspapers around to read as well which is a real bonus. The guy behind the counter calls everyone 'boss' which is a nice friendly touch and he's a good guy. read more

Tried this place out for the first time today. Wasn't really impressed with my cheese Donair. There was little filling, dry and lukewarm. I did tip the guy that made it but apparently that wasn't good enough. The Donair definitely wasn't good and I won't be back. After trying the Donairs at Simply Donair, this place doesn't stand a chance! read more

There are those times when you find yourself way, way, WAY out in the west end of the city. And if you do, and you happen to have a hankerin' for a donair, stop into Enzo's. I am by no means a big fan of donair, I usually crave burritos or pizza when those types of late night or carb-loaded, meaty-sausy craving creep up. But I decided to do donair one night and dropped by Enzo's. I got a gigantic donair to go, then headed over to visit some Family and boy were we blown away! My Uncle, Cousin and I devoured the donair! The meat was so tender and juicy and surprisingly light, not greasy. The garlic sauce was crazy good and the side of fries was down right rockin'!! Hot, salty, fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside and with a spicy kick. Oh and the bonus prize, Enzo himself is a hell of a good guy, chatting with me while he cooked my order. They are open late too. So next time I roll into the city limits, back from a trip to Jasper (and with that Sunday apre ski weekend hangover) I know where to pull into to get to fill up!! read more

Good donairs and the guy during the day is super nice. Evenings however are a bit of a different story. The first time we came in the evening it was about an hour before closing. The guy told us we had to take it to go because they were closing. He eventually told us we could eat there but he stood there staring at us till we finished. The second time we went in the evening it was about 45 minutes before they closed. We couldn't order fries or anything fried as they had shut the fryers off for the evening. Then a half hour before closing he turned the signs off and locked the door. Why stay open until 9 when you stop serving people around 8? read more

Not all donair shops are created equal. ENZO's has absolutely become my top choice for donair or any delicious donair-type of food. The service is great, the two guys that run the shop are friendly and awesome. The donairs are HUGE, tasty, and always fresh. The shop is clean, and welcoming. Their menu selection extends beyond just donairs; they make a wonderful donair poutine, a wide selection of delicious burgers (donair, and other), as well as wings and other fast food menu items. It is hard for me to write a review on donairs so I will keep is short and to what I know. This place is filling! Friend got me the biggest one for lunch and couldnt finish it. Huh? Man, it's a donair shop; it's not a four-star or a five-star anything! That being said, the place is clean and the guy who owns the joint is nice. It's recommended if you're in the area and you're craving a donair. read more
