To my surprise, I was greeted with a bottle of water and sat in the waiting area. The mani and pedi areas are separated which allows for a conversation level with your tech or friends. I also noticed they keep cleaning logs and have everything labeled for clean or dirty. This impressed me because other salons dont keep their equipment sanitized. Went there while visiting from out of town and got a dip manicure (something I've been doing for…read moreyears, I have had one a month since 2017). It was clear the man doing my nails was rushed and sloppy, but he followed the steps that I've seen at other salons so went with it. One nail chipped THE NEXT DAY. What was I doing you ask? Obviously something super hard on my nails because everyone knows dip can last while, right? Wrong. I was opening my wallet. I had to file my nail significantly down to hide it. Two days later, another nail chipped. What was I doing that caused this? Putting on a pair of pants. So that's two chips in 3 days. It's now day 5 and three more nails are very close to chipping. The edges are sloppy. It's laughable this is how they perform work, but I understand mistakes happen. I call the salon and ask for a refund and offer to send pictures. They refuse to entertain it, saying it's not their policy and I should have spoken up at the time. Spoken up about...what? Should I have had a sixth sense to know my nails were to chip? Come on. They did mention they have a 2 week guarantee, however being from Chicago and visiting, this is obviously not feasible. So I guess go here any expect poor quality but if you can go back every day? Who has that kind of time? Likely won't be back to ABQ, but putting this out there for local ladies. See pics below and good luck! Update 1 - 2 more nails have chipped since I wrote this 3 hours ago. All I did was put on my coat and reach in my purse for my wallet. Such a joke. A dispute has been filed with my credit card company with plenty of proof of this poor service. Update 2 - 7 days after getting this manicure, 9/10 nails are chipped. The salon refuses to do anything. This is without a doubt the worst manicure I've had in my life. Regular polish would have lasted longer. Avoid this place at all costs.

The minute I walked into the salon I knew it was a good one. It was spotlessly clean and nicely…read moredecorated. It felt soothing to be there. Tina greeted me as soon as I walked in the door for my appointment, and took me right over to a pedicure chair to get comfortable and soak my feet. We chatted a bit while she took great care of my feet, trimming and filing my nails, treating my cuticles, and giving me a very relaxing foot and leg massage. This in combination with the relaxing massage chair put me in a very happy place. After a while I close my eyes and relaxed fully while she continued the pedicure and polished my toenails. I have to admit it's been awhile since I've had a pedicure and I finally think my toes look good again. There is no doubt that I will return to this salon as my favorite in Albuquerque.

My toe nail had brittled off due to the excessive filing, and my nail bed was exposed, she applied acrylic over my bleeding nail bed saying it would be fine, but it kept burning. I asked if we can stop and just do the refund, she rudely threw the acrylic got up and said "keep your money and get out" not refunding me the full amount. I no longer wanted to argue so I just left.

9/15/2026 i've been to Joy's several times and never had the service that I had today…read more I went in to get a pedicure and asked the lady to make sure to get the areas that were dry First off, she started scrubbing really hard, and I let her know it was too hard. when she was done with 1st left foot, she went onto the Right foot. I checked the left foot and it was cut up. At the end when I went to pay, I asked to speak to a manager because my foot was really hurting and cut up and I showed him. All he kept saying was we do what our customers tell us to do. I said I did ask her to scrub the dry areas, but I didn't ask her to cut me.. He repeated myself and proceeded to charge me full price. He ended up only giving me six dollars off. Why this didn't suffice, because number one she was talking to the woman that was working next to her and not paying attention to what she was doing. Number two, I go there frequently and had never experience this kind of service ever until today. Not once did he apologize or did they take accountability. Even when I showed him the pictures and my foot, all he did was blame me. Shame on Joy's. I know that you don't care that I will ever go back again and it's unfortunate because I always like to go in there. One bad experience negated the previous good service I always received because they were rough and not gentle like their website says, and they didn't take accountability nor apologize

She was so kind, we chatted about our children and Covid, she talked me through different nail types, Acrylic, Gel X, etc. it was great. What I liked most about the experience is that it was so personable and everybody there seem to really get along like a family. Two girls came up to watch her finish my nails and show her how to do a different technique with the cat eye polish, and they were just joking with one another in a way that was warm and friendly.
