This is for the Guildford location. First visit to this nail salon, popped in for a manicure. Took me to the very back room in the corner, where I was the only customer. (it was not at all busy, several nail techs available) She seemed pleasant enough, told her it was my first visit, she said I will try try do a good job for you. The lady was extremely rough while filing my nails, cut me with cuticle trimmers while trimming nails and over all missed many steps in the process and overall was very inconsistent, clearly not looking for repeat customers or trained well. Will not be returning. My best advice go somewhere else. read more

If this is the same chain as in metropolis Metrotown Envy Nails - the review is for metro. The service was ok and manicure was very basic. But the main issue was THEY DONT STERILIZE TOOLS BETWEEN CUSTOMERS! They used nail tools from an open cart box then went over to the next client and used the same tools without cleaning! The worst experience. First time they waxed my eye and it was not done properly. Second time the lady was asking if I needed one suse of my eyebrows waxed and the other side threaded I told her that I needed both sides threaded she could not understand what I said. Took my wife there for manicure and pedicure, after 5 days the nail polish started to peel off. She called the left them know, the male Asian cashier who answered the phone was rude, he asked that she pay for a full manicure again. He was so rude, he kept talking, not listen to my wife to reply, he ended the call. This was the last time I will spend my money there. I have been here many many times and mostly they are over busy but today was an exception. Not busy so i got pedicure spot right away. But let tell ya, even if u have to wait its not longer then 10 mins. They have so many nail technicians and equal number of working counters that the service is fast. Almost 8 pericure chairs and 15 nail technicians counter. From the outside glass windows the seating doesn't look big but they have another hidden room behind the front wall. Over all this place is very clean, hygiene conscious, managed well and good collection of nail art stuff. All technicians are gloved and to work on ur hands or feet. Sanitation is taken care of like each client uses a towel once n leave it for laundry. So less paper wastage. TV screens play all sort of shows but you can request ur choice. I have got nail art done which lasted almost a month. They even removed my dip powdered nails smoothly that i got from USA. I have had best pedicure service here. "Winner" ( real name) was my pedicure person and she was so good and meticulous in her job. Smiling face and caring hands. Thank u winner. Overall i like this place as its in the mall so whenever i am waiting for my apple appointments , i spend my time here. . Actually it's convenient and not too expensive . I had my nails done here a week ago and thought that Michael did a great job. The salon is very modern and they have a large selection of polish colours. I took 2 of my friends in today to get a fill and fresh polish. The website lists the fill price at $25 dollars but we were charged $40 dollars each!!! When questioning the price difference from the website, we were told it was different price because of the shellac polish. Very dishonest in the pricing and no advance notice or any additional advertising of the extra costs! The counter cashier is rude. No attempt at making the situation a more positive experience. This was my first time in this nail salon. What I liked was that they had a large colour selection and the inside was clean and modern. What I didn't like is that the staff pressure you, quite strongly, to get add-on services (e.g. shellac). Also, they aren't honest with the price they quote you. I had Vivian do my nails and she kept throwing out numbers quickly and ended up charging me more than what we agreed upon. I understand that a lot of salons do this but it's very apparent with this location and they are dishonest with their pricing. In addition, the front desk staff are very rude. And my friends gel polish was horrible and lifted and was patchy, her foot was sliced with the callus remover and bled all night; even tho she asked the tech not to use it on her and only use the foot file. Be aware of non authorized charges. They automatically adding $1.00 on each of your service there. They instructed staffs to add it on at cashier, the female owner is very aggressive and greedy. She will scold at your technician if you question her why? She said it is for the disposable tools but isn't a business expense and tax write off? They never dispose the nails file, if you look closely, you will find pieces of other people's skin still dangling on it. I had never see them sanitize their implements. They just wash it with soap and use the same tools right away on the next client. They had been scamming the public for years. This place is toxic and gross. Also, please if you care about leaving gratuity for the girl, please give cash directly to them. They also take tips from the staffs. Happened a few times i was there. Everytime i find a good technicien, they leave without notice. Located conveniently in Guildford mall. It's big and looks nice. Super busy. Prices are on par with usual Vietnamese nail salons. It's the service you would expect.... fast and average. Plenty of colours to choose from for Shellac. The workers are usually speaking in Vietnamese. I had a shellac mani and it was probably at most 30 minutes. I was told to sit and they were ready.... however, it was probably 10 min before a nail tech arrived back from her break. There's better places out there but if you're in a hurry at the mall then this is an option. read more

New nail salon in Guilford Town Centre. The place was busy, but I did not have to wait too long for service. There is 10% off on Mondays and $28 pedicures on Tuesdays advertised currently. I happened to stopped by on a Monday right after New Years and there were 3 other customers ahead of me and more lining up after. The nail salon is clean. The pedicure also includes a brief hot stone massage. The nail colour selection is very thorough. There is a colour to please everyone. I felt the service was a bit rushed because they were trying to get through the line up. Also, staff spoke in Vietnamese to each other the whole time. My nail technician barely said a word to me other than when to move my foot and to wait 30 mins for my nails to dry before my nails were sprayed for the final touches. Overall, nice, average pricing, clean nail salon located in the mall. It has a good location for mall traffic. Also, they let you take the nail file and brush home for the next visit. Everybody -staff laughed and started talking about me in their language which didn't make me feel so good! they continue to Ridicule me and speak really loudly to the point where I had to take some Tylenol. The worker sitting directly behind me, kept hitting me with her chair, which was a little bit annoying when it came time to leave I had to back up and hit her chair and she screamed. I definitely don't recommend going there unless you want to get a headache and be really Ridiculed and insulted in another language, which is not nice. My nail tech did make a nice conversation. Went for a pedicure today with my daughter. 1st thing wrong was it was a total rushed pedicure, the woman was so careless and just rushing to get on with the next client. Her pedicure was half way finished before mine even started. We picked our colours and the colour that was put on my daughters toes was not what the bottle looked like at all. My daughter wasn't happy with it and so we asked for a new colour and the woman came over and said I asked if you liked and we both said no you didn't. It was a huge deal and the woman told my daughter she would change it after she was down with the new client she had. It was a client that was in for her nails, which means it would have been at least 45 mins. Completely rude and didn't care. We said we'd go somewhere else to get a polish change. Didn't even phase the woman. We will not be back to this location, terrible customer service. Not to mention the products they use. The cheapest lotion and dollar store packets of I don't even know what it was she put in the water. DO NOT GO THERE!! Went to Envy Nails in Guildford Town Center for the first time with a friend and decided to try them out since their salon LOOKED clean. We booked an appointment in advance by calling them and by surprise we were still told to wait 10 minutes after we arrived right on time for our appointment which was 6:30pm. We didn't finish until close to 8pm. My friend and I both got pedicures done but my friend also had a manicure service done as well and her gel polish was lumpy and didn't dry properly. The ladies who were employed there do not have very good communication as they were barely able to speak English and the lady who did my friend's manicure was probably not certified in Canada by any institution to perform any nail services because she mentioned to us that she came to Canada only 6 months ago. When were finished getting our nails done, we weren't very happy with the results - we paid them anyways without complaint since we were only left with less than an hour until the mall closed. They charged my friend a hefty $75 for her manicure and pedicure finished with gel polish (which is usually $55 anywhere else even with gel polish), so she ended up paying $80 including tip. I was charged $45 for my pedicure finished with gel polish and I was shocked that she told me that I didn't have to leave a tip...makes me think that they may have included a portion of the price that they are charging us as the tip already; which is FINE if they told us that gratuity is already included. The reason why I am giving this nail salon 1 star is because that is as low of a rating I could give. If I could, they deserve 0 stars because after my pedicure, the last 4 days since my service, my foot has developed little bumps and are super itchy. I have never ever had that happen to me before after getting a pedicure service from any other nail salon. I know that they were super super duper busy in the salon and I think they do not sterilize their tools. My friend was the first to complain about how her toes were swollen and red and irritated. During the service we experienced pain while they were trimming the cuticles - I think they trimmed them too far back and I am aware that cuticles are supposed to protect and prevent foot fungus. read more

They take excellent ensuring you get brand new tools to prevent infection and they give them to you afterwards. Very disappointed.. went in to get 2 sets of acrylic with my friend, while mine turned out some what okay, but i still have some things that dont look great; my friend didnt even have the shape or length she wanted. She had asked for square nails and got them short and wide, almost like duck nails. Painting job was poorly done as well. After getting it re-shaped, it did not look any better. Also, both of us had cuts on our cuticles after having out nails filed extremely rough. The salon is expensive even if the job is done poorly. Do better. read more

I went in to get a new set just between work since I had time to spare before a meeting. I wanted black matte polish with 3 glitter accent nails. The next day I noticed in the shower that my nails started to bubble up and the polish fully peeled off of two of my nails. Upon further inspection I noticed that the nails already started to deform. I called back and the male owner picked up and was very rude about me wanting to come back and get my nails fixed. Upon going back the female owner (far back left corner) started yelling at me because I apparently didn't let my nails dry long enough under the lamp. From what I know, she's the nail tech and before she puts more coats on and tells me I'm good to go, she should make sure my nails are fully dry and ready to go. I proceeded to nicely but sternly tell her that this is unacceptable and that I paid $65 for great service which I did not at all receive. I left the shop after I got my nails redone to now glossy black with just a shimmery holographic polish on my three accent nails. She did not remove the bottom layers of polish. Today, 2 days after getting my nails fixed, at work I noticed my middle finger on my left hand started to bubble up and peel off. I work at a body store where I'm required to do demos in the sink with customers. Just after doing a demo the polish popped off. I went back in after my shift was over and fully went off on them. The owner was so rude and wouldn't even listen to me. A different lady in the far back right corner fixed the one nail for me. I told her to dry my nails between each coat and she began to argue with me on that. She told me her machine works better than the lady I previously went to. End of study, their customer service is horrible. Their quality is pathetic. They are rude. They over charge you and do not provide you the quality you deserve for your nails. If envy nails is the closest nail shop for you, or convenient as it was for me, please do yourself a favor and go to beauty nails. It's right across the street from London drugs. read more

By far the worst place to go for lash extensions!!!!... I asked the girl to give me volume lashes and to keep them longer in the middle shorter on the outside she said ok and I laid down. The whole time this lady was on her phone talking to someone or talking to the lady next to her who was also doing someone's lashes. My eye started to water and she told me it's fine dw... didn't stop to make sure the lashes weren't being damaged. At the end I saw she gave me exactly what I Didn't want !!! I got a cat eye look that made my eyes look so droopy and charged me 95$ and as she was taking off the tape from my eyes she ripped it off didn't even tell me she was about to do it or remove it slowly.!!!!! not worth it ladies!! Came here after desperately needing to get a mani/pedi & ended up walking out & getting nothing done due to terrible previous service, false price quotes, lack of respect by the receptionist. A friend of mine and I came here after all the salons I go to were closed so it was my last resort. Firstly, my friend & I were greeted by a stylist who was working on someone who asked us what we wanted done. My friend was asked to sit & To me she pointed at the pedi station & told me to sit anywhere. I walked to the station to be stopped by the receptionist who told me that I had to go back & wait. Confused I explained to her that I was directed by a stylist to go there & she just looked at me & told me go to wait. WARNING #1. When I got back my friend had been taken in. Being no space I stood by & watched her get her service done. While I waited I saw two other girls who were with me also were called & then be asked to sit I thought what is going on? The receptionist & the stylists have no communication going on at all. WARNING #2. 30 minutes later I decided to sit down due to a headache & my chest hurting which resulted in the harsh fumes from the chemicals they were using (ahem, MMA). More girls then came in. Already annoyed from the incident earlier the receptionist then at my direction & said "Okay, Pedicure" followed by "Go to any station". I got up because I was next in line, to find another girl (who came after me) had also gotten up & was already walking there and the sat. At that movement I realized that something was wrong. IF she was indeed talking to me which I was because I was next, she had just seen someone get up & allowed then to sit on the chair. Little yet start the service and not say or do anything about it. Not only had I now been sent somewhere & sent back to the waiting area, waited 45 minutes to get a pedi done.. but but now someone had just been let in before me. Not only did this make me feel SO invisible, but it also made me feel like my need & request for a service (which was desperately needed) had very little importance to them. WARNING #3!!!! Desperate times call for desperate measures, right? WRONG. I know that now. After what seemed like the longest time (like 10-15minutes later) I sat and watched the receptionist rinse a pedi station with water.. then say "okay your next" pointing at the lady sitting beside me followed by "go to any station". I got up once again & walked a few steps froze in shock of what had just happened. & walked towards the reception desk to ask the receptionist what had just happened twice. I explained both situations to the receptionist & she anxiously responded with "They had appointments". I could not believe the amount of disrespect & lack of customer service. I then find my friend paying because she had just finished getting her full set of nails, not just full set with regular polish.. it was shellac polish. I realized how long it had been and was furious. I then told my friend that I wasn't going to get my nails done anymore. I proceeded to tell her loud and clear that I was so insulted and the receptionists seemed unbothered by everything. At that point everyone had heard what I had said and they were looking at me and at the receptionist. I don't know maybe it's right what they say about 3 strikes and your out, LITERALLY. Let me tell you something I'm a very nice person, I've worked all my life in customer service and hospitality. Gym, salons, conventions Centers, Restaurants, retail, I was a supervisor believe me I know patience - I understand patience. I also understand customer service and the things that can happen so I am easy going when it comes to mishaps and situations. But, THIS... WAS. NOT. OKAY. This was horrible. Everything was horrible about it, the smell of chemical fumes, lack of sanitation, the fact that the pamphlet says one price and the receptionist says another, the miscommunication between the staff, the customer service. Their work is OK. I have been hurt before because the nail tech is trying to get me out ASAP and what ends up happening is that I walked out with uncured nails. Ladies, work on your craft, this is a craft and if you do it well we will come back. We appreciate it believe me, we go hard on our nails. But the biggest problem of all is the RUDE RECEPTIONIST. As a business customer service is KEY, it is essential and the foundation of a business. Change the receptionist or train her. Work on safe, clean and sterile environment as people's health are at risk. Because remember without customers you only have a business and a business doesn't do anything without customers. I've been here a couple times and overall my experiences has been pretty upsetting. I only come in when my nail lady isn't free and I'm desperate. There have been times I've come in for acrylic removal and each time they have managed to cut my real nails and I've left bleeding. The staff doesn't seem to care about quality nail service or cleanliness. The receptionist doesn't seem to have anything in order even if you make an appointment before hand they will still have you wait 10-20 mins past scheduled appt time. The prices of their services seem to always change and hasn't been consistent even for something as simple as nail removal. Terrible service, was told that full acrylic set with regular polish, square shape, medium-short length is $40. When it came time to pay, nail tech charged me $45 because I chose to get long nails (something I've never heard of). Nail tech explained that if my nails are longer than the width of 2 nail files its consider long, checked my nail length right in front of her and my nails were only half of the length. Never have had this issue at any nail salon, completely bizarre concept. Nail tech was also trying to upcharge throughout the process even after I had told her that I didn't want gel or designs. Lied about prices and didn't make any conversation other than trying to upcharge, nails came out subpar. Very unprofessional and not a fun or relaxing experience.
