I'm assuming the company was contracted by Tri Pointe Homes do some surfacing work where I was parked. I would have gladly moved my vehicle, but there was no signage posted in advance. I was out of the country and unable to move my car out of the street. Initially, when I tried to figure out what happen, (while on vacation) I was told Asphalt Surfacing couldn't have moved my vehicle. They don't have the equipment to do so. A representative from Asphalt implied the City of Oakland must have dragged my vehicle from where it was legally parked on the street to the middle of the street. Asphalt Surfacing wouldn't even acknowledge leaving my vehicle in the street until I sent a video. This was on day 2 of the car being left in the street. When an employee from the their company told me it would be moved to a legal parking space, he lied. My vehicle was left for another night and broken into.

Also, we scheduled a set up with him even confirmed it before hand and due to rain we had to reschedule installation 1 day. Then the day before he says he doesn't have a signed contract and or insurance required. We had this quote for 4 months and the day before he now notices that he doesn't have the contract ? We asked him to be upfront with us if you feel you underbid and or can no longer do the work please let us know so we can get someone else. He said give him a day to get the insurance and then next day he says his broker said he needs a permit because of the height of the scaffold. Shouldn't he have known that already? It's a 4 story building. Then he said we have a lot of paperwork to do with getting permits, we're not going to be able to do it... my broker is not insuring me with permits. This was 2 days after he was originally supposed to have the scaffold already installed. He put us in a bind as this was an insurance claim project and we had to schedule in advance with the tenant when we would be there and we had to keep changing the date because he kept delaying the install of the scaffold.

What went well was that the work was done by an experienced and professional team. They covered the outdoor decks to collect debris, removed two layers of old roofing, replaced old plywood sheet where needed, laid the water barrier and new tiles, and did a fairly good job of cleanup. I worked with Rick Pisano as the project manager. He had decades of experience in the business and so was very knowledgeable. He met with me in person at my home to explain the proposal and also for the signing of the contract, unlike others who rely on electronic forms. He was accommodating with my questions and the few change requests. What could be improved is the communication. Rick was terse with words and sometimes this led to miscommunication in our text messages and emails. I would have liked to be better informed of when the work was to start and when the inspection would be scheduled. It took awhile before work started and for the city inspection and I had to made repeated inquiries to get the info. Rick was not physically able to go up to the roof to make quality checks so I had to rely on photographs to verify the work and materials. I was able to get a rebate on materials not used but I had to request for it. In the end, the contract was executed as signed and I got everything I asked for so that's why I can recommend the vendor.

He was curt and disinterested in his responses, offered no apology, and showed no consideration for the time and effort wasted on our end. When we asked for reassurance on the revised timeline and quote Geovanny simply told us that it was "not up for negotiation." It is doubtful that Q7 is interested in or values your business. With service this bad before they started work or got paid it is hard to imagine they would even pretend that you exist afterwards if an issue were to arise. I reached out to 4-5 companies on Yelp as I do for projects like this. Most wanted to clean my gutters or replace them entirely. Not DG, they were the only one who listened and understood how to fix the problem. Daniel came out to look at the project and was very capable of fixing it. He told me exactly what my problem was, what he would do to fix it and quoted me a fair price. None of the others even bothered to get on a ladder or measure anything before quoting me $800-$1000 just to clean my gutters. Daniel came out about a week later and did the work and was very professional, cleaned up after his work and made the gutter functional again, all in about two hours. He even went above and beyond by removing some old wood attached to the roof where a previous owner had put water solar on the roof. Definitely would hire him again for any roof repairs or gutter work I need. Highly recommend him for your home projects as well.
