I had to get a rental car after my car was wrecked. I was able to quickly reserve a car online. Unfortunately the next morning the car as not available so they offered me another vehicle. I really needed the full size car so they offered to let me take a pickup and then return it once my reserved car was available. I got a call several hours later and returned to get the car. It was in great shape and very clean. The process was very efficient and Tori and the other staff were very helpful. I will definitely rent from them again. read more

I booked a luxury car two and a half weeks ago through my corporate account. When I showed up today at the pick up time and location I was told they had no cars available at that level and never really do have luxury class cars!! They offered me a Nissan Sentra instead this is the third time I have had these issues with enterprise in the past few years they overbook online and almost never have what you selected and will not inform you until your arrival it is a joke I will never use enterprise again and will reach out to our rep who handles cooperate accounts/services and hopefully get enterprise off our list of users Edit this is a response to that automated reply from the business there is no one available to help me rite now plus closed weekends I leave for my trip Monday morning this does not help me none of your local area managers are answering or responding either it's extremely frustrating and again not the first time I have had a terrible experience with enterprise!! When my boyfriend and I booked our rental, we had a discount code. Turns out, we couldn't use it but the woman who checked us in (I wish I would have gotten her name but I could give more details) was extremely rude, not empathetic, and the complete opposite of what customer service should be. I almost booked an uber to take us to another local rental company because her attitude was insane and unprofessional. What a shame that Enterprise has such foul people working for them. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the young man who brought us to our car was extremely apologetic, kind, and empathetic towards our situation. read more

We chose to rent a smaller SUV than we orginally planned and we wound up with an excellent vehicle with the help of Brian Eggiman. The vehicle was clean, ran smoothly and had lots of features That we had not used or figured out before we had to return it. Cruise control would have been nice to use more, but our route and the weather did not end up allowing us to use it. We will rent from them again when the time come. read more

I rented a small SUV yesterday and noticed as I was driving down the road that there was a scraping noise when there was a dip in the road. When I was able to stop and look under the SUV I noticed that there was a cover under the car that had come partially unbolted. When I took the SUV back to enterprise I I explained to Shawn what I saw and heard when hitting uneven road. I expressed that I liked this SUV and would like to keep it if I could. Without hesitation he asked me to wait a few minutes and took the SUV to their mechanic. A few minutes went buy and Shawn returned with my SUV . I asked, " so they were able to fix it?" He replied that they were very busy and so he was able to fix it himself. I noticed at this time that his very nice slacks were very dirty and he was wiping his hands on a towel he was carrying. I was not expecting that and very grateful ! I thanked Shawn for his EXCELLENT customer service! I would highly recommend this company if you are ever needing to rent a vehicle. I chose enterprise through my insurance after a car accident. Everything went smoothly on Enterprise's end. My insurance ended up screwing me over. I was annoyed and irritable and stressed over the whole situation, and the manager and staff at this location didn't deserve my frustrations. Even so, they went above and beyond to help me keep my rental at a reasonable rate after my insurance cut me off. If I ever need another rental I'd definitely come back to this location. read more

I was recently in a car accident in which my car was more than likely a total loss. Others peoples insurance paid for a rental with enterprise. I made no mention of my car other than being in a accident. 2 days after I started getting sales calls. I don't take calls o don't know so they all went to voice mail... I a week period I got dozens of calls and a few emails unrequested by me. I got calls from 6 different sales people multiple times and i never returned one...... my mentality is if someone doesn't call you back they aren't interested, stop calling...... I finally called and said "stop calling me"" I was told I requested it and I told them I did not. The person was very rude when I spoke w them... their sales team hounding isn't even funny....... meanwhile car dealerships are playing it cool waiting to hear from me.... read more

I truly feel like this company business practices are shady as hell. My husband got in an accident in June. USAA sent us here to get a rental car. We drive a large vehicle and get stuck with a much smaller one that reeks of cigarette smoke. You get a whiff every time you get into car. Hubby just got rear ended and is shaken, so he takes them up on their recommendations for extra protection and extra insurance so we don't get screwed if something happens to said car. Extra insurance is $16.99 a freaking day- he thinks whatever - a week or two to fix said car. We get hit with more life shit and don't think about said insurance and find out last week they are charging our card over $900 for "insurance". I call to discuss the outrageous cost and they say if you cancel now and something happens, $ comes out of your pocket since you cancelled. We still don't have a pickup date for OUR car. What the fuck? Our car is taking forever...still paying that car payment by the way.. We've had the rental 57 days and it's like taking on a few more extra car payments in a two month period to cover this. I am freaking out! Called and they were so condescending. "You're husband signed the contract and it's been 57 days and it's $16.99 per day ...". Like no big deal. Why not a flat rate? Won't go over this $ much per month. Why not credit it back if nothing happens to the car? Or some percentage? This whole ordeal has been a horrible experience while having to already deal with a stressful situation of the car accident. This seems like price gouging! It's a freaking rental car ...that is literal shit...would never own this car and will NEVER go through Enterprise again. I am so pissed and disheartened by their business practices. Take advantage of people losing their vehicles in accidents for repairs or for the many other reasons people get rental cars. I wish I could say they were wonderful because last time I needed a car the woman working the front was phenomenal. However this time Auto (that is his name) was arrogant, rude, and wrote me off as an inconvenience. I have coverage for an SUV rental via insurance however they refused to provide an SUV and refused to get me a reservation 24 hours in advance. Apparently their policy is to give you what is on the lot like it or not. Which could work for some people but with a trip to the snow planned and they refuse to provide chains or even an SUV I'm not willing to risk it for their convenience. My husband picked up my rental for me after an auto accident. He said that 2 men were cleaning the heck out of it, which is great but, he then said they sprayed a lot of spray in the car. By the time I got off of work and first opened the car door, I immediately smelled a strong smell. The smell is from Marijuana! The smell has only gotten worse since yesterday! I even had my mom and my co-worker open the car door, they both said OMG I could get a contact high if I were riding in this car. I'm so disappointed that the car was allowed to be rented out like this. It was too late for me to call yesterday and they're closed today but, I will be calling in the morning. Rental Agent was absolutely CLOBBERED- we rented last minute after our car broke down and I had a job interview, which I only mention as I was in a HURRY- they had me in and out in a flash, no car in my budget so they matched a van for no up charge (reservation was for econo but they were out) - will rent here again (as an Audi driver god knows I'll need this service often) for sure. Made a reservation a week earlier, for a VW Jetta to pick up at 10 a.m. showed up early, and they had nothing like it on the lot. They offered to put us in a full sized Dodge Ram truck for our road trip. Apparently they think a full sized Dodge truck is "similar" to a European sedan... They "upgraded" us for free of course, to a Dodge charger... The bad review is to let people know that this location doesn't really care about your reservations, they got an extra star because they were friendly. read more

The car I rented did not have windshield washer fluid, so I bought some. Also, the inside of the windshield was so dirty I had to pull over on the side of the road to clean it due to being unable to see the road when the sun was shining. The car overheated leading me to hitch hike into town and back to purchase coolant. It turns out the car was given to me with no coolant and this caused close to a whole day of a 3 day trip to be wasted. Upon bringing this to the attention of two employees while returning the car, the response was "we don't check the fluids." I never was compensated for the coolant or windshield washer fluid despite giving them a receipt. I'd recommend going somewhere else that takes care of their vehicles and has decent customer service. I was dismissed as irrelavent, just another old lady. I needed a large car to drive my family up to Portland to attend my Dad's full military honor funeral. The rep didn't log all the damage, so i took a video on my phone, just in case. They got pissy when I didn't want to purchase the extra insurance. When I returned the car, again I was treated as if I was a nusance. I asked for a ride home, they said no. I asked for directions to the nearest bus stop..... "Oh, its a few blocks up that way, I think". No effort to drive me or look it up on google. Thank God I had a smart phone. It really wouldn't have been so bad, but I have arthritis in my feet. I've been a regular customer of Enterprise for over 20 years. I've learned to deal with the delays and pseudo cheerfulness of staff because I always got good deals and hassle free renting. But this last rental was the straw that broke the camel's back. Apparently the smaller cars do not come with a spare tire-just an inflate-a-kit. I found this out the hard way when I experienced a blow out in the middle of nowhere-miles from civilization and out of cell range. Long story short, after a few harrowing hours I was able to get towed into the nearest town where I had to rent a hotel room for the night until the tire could be replaced the next day. Enterprise did say I'd be reimbursed for the tire cost, so I paid and finished my trip. Upon return I asked to be reimbursed and they tried to credit the rental cost, which was less than the tire, to my credit card, but I'd paid with my debit for the tire. I asked if I could be reimbursed for the tow, but was told it was considered part of roadside assistance. What?? I was too tired to argue and just said to get my reimbursement done. I knew I'd have to take the issue up with corporate. Well, I've never received the reimbursement. Was offered again, to reverse the rental charge to my credit card (which has already been paid) and now told I can expect a check in about two weeks. The car rental, which was just over $100 cost me about $400 between the tow (I do have AAA but now out a tow credit), taxis, hotel and tire. Sorry Enterprise, I'm not gonna eat all those expenses now. I was willing to let it go, but I'm done with you. read more

I have rented vehicles from different agencies through the years in several different cities on either side of the coast. This is the first time I rented locally. I went to another Enterprise in town looking for a specific vehicle, but they said I would have to go to the Portland Airport location to get it. At that point I was thinking that the rental person didn't know what they were talking about, then it looked bad for Enterprise. On a whim, I visited the Mission Street location and found TWO of the vehicle I was looking for. BINGO!!! The personnel were awsome! I had to call the online reservation folks and found they were pretty much worthless. Stick with the local agents; they know what's going on. read more

Lydia immediately got on the phone and found me another comparable vehicle. Unfortunately it was in Corvalis. When I got to Corvalis, Bryan was super apologetic and got me in and out with no fuss. They are unorganized, and had a lot of difficulty with people returning cars in time. I reserved a car for 2:30 but was delayed by moving. When i got there at 4 not only was my car not available 1 hour and half later but i had to wait 30 or 35 minutes. They had no options available at all. However, they can't control when clients return cars and they were very apologetoc and nice. They took 10% off my bill, gave me an hour free and when I returned the car, they gave me a ride to my destination. I would use them again for sure. read more

Don't try to get a rental here on a Sunday. Their hours are super short and their selection is tiny.

We would like to express our frustration and concern with the lack of customer service we received when speaking with Matt the Region Manager of the Salem, OR location (located at the corner of Mission St. and 24th St. SE). We live in the neighborhood, and regularly have extra rental cars that don't fit in the lot and even customers who need long-term parking blocking the area in front of our home. This is the case with many of our neighbors as well. Today I counted 14 rental cars parked as "overflow" on our street alone, not including the side streets. That is unacceptable and an inconvenience to our neighborhood when many neighbors cannot park infront of their own home. We have spoken with the current location manager, Justin, who was very helpful and listened to our concerns and was open to speaking about alternatives that can be a win-win for both your business and our neighborhood. We would like to take this opportunity to compliment Justin on his ability to listen to us respectfully and being solution-oriented. When speaking with the region manager Matt, who is very difficult to contact by phone as we have tried in the past, he was dismissive and just kept telling us that to have cars parked on the street was "extremely rare" and that he didn't know what we wanted him to do about it. He told us how he had been with Enterprise for 15 years and he knows how they run. Well, he obviously is not as in-touch with his locations as he should be, because he was well off the mark with the situation in our community. We expect that a commercial business would want to make some sort of good-faith effort to be a "good neighbor" and work with the community to come to a solution. Matt asked us what our ideas were, and when we asked if he could have staff verbally remind customers to please be a good neighbor and not leave their car in the neighborhood (for two weeks...yes that has happened before) he said he can't control what people do. We weren't asking him to control what they do, we were asking for him to work with other local businesses who have ample parking (the K-Mart across the street has a very large lot) to suggest an alternative for people to park if they leave their car long term. This will also help customers as we can, and do, call the city to tow away cars that have been left in the neighborhood (ENTERPRISE CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED). We also suggested that they don't park the overflow Enterprise rental cars on our street and instead shuttle them to their designated overflow lot, he said that they are "too busy" to do that. That sounds like a staffing problem, not a neighborhood problem. We would suggest that some special public relations training be given to Matt, as he is sorely in need of a customer relations refresher. Also, please have someone above Matt look into the parking issue in our neighborhood. It is becoming a very serious problem and we will soon be forced to explore all avenues available to us to reclaim neighborhood parking for the neighbors. We too want to be good neighbors and find a way for both your business and our homes to exist in our little corner, but unless Enterprise can come to the table with more than eye-rolling and sarcasm we don't see that as a possibility. read more

The rental was easy to organize and the staff was attentive and helpful. There was a miscommunication between Enterprise and my insurance company (USAA) when I picked up the car saying that my insurance doesn't cover rentals, and I got charged for an extra couple of days of insurance unnecessarily. This confusion did upset me. But when we returned the truck and explained the situation to Justin (as well as some more confusion about limited mileage when renting trucks), he cleared it all up for us and had us on our way in less than 20 minutes. People like Justin, with their positive and friendly attitudes, calm demeanor, and great customer service, are why I continue to be an Enterprise customer.
