I know taxis feel like a thing of the past but believe it or not they are cheaper than Uber/Lyft in some cases. I worked with Billy to set up a van to and from Mt Angel Octoberfest this year from Salem. The Willamette Valley Cab Company is the worst taxi company I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. I just moved to Salem, OR in early May, 2022. I scheduled a pick up at the Amtrak station far in advance. My train was delayed. WVYC was unable to accommodate the change for a new pick up time. Rick, the supervisor, was very rude and and rigid and unaccommodating. They made me wait THREE HOURS at the Amtrak station in the evening all by myself in an unsafe situation. When I called Erin, the owner, the next day to discuss she became very rude, defensive and hysterical, banning me from WVYC. It seems to me that a change in pick up time should be routine for any taxi company. These people completely fell apart at something so routine. I do NOT recommend WVYC unless you want your taxi company to abandon you after 30 weary hours of travel time and then put your safety in jeopardy. Thumbs down to WVYC! read more

Picked us up, dropped us off in a timely manner. Cab was clean but not fancy. Driver was friendly.

Used them to get to and from the train station early in the morning and in the early evening. I had absolutely no problems. Cars were reasonably clean and odor free. Drivers were safe and courteous. Rates are about the same or a little cheaper than other area taxis but they are far more sophisticated and professional than the other options in the Salem area. The only downside is that they only take cash and don't tell you this up front . If they had a credit card machine in vehicles they would get 5 stars from me. Still, I'd use them again. read more

I needed a cab later in the day for an important appointment so they scheduled it in advance. I received text confirmation of my scheduled ride, I received text confirmation when it was in route and I received text notification as they were pulling up. The driver was a little aggressive on the road so I couldn't give them 5 stars but I arrived in plenty of time and it was really no more expensive than an Uber. read more

Had to call last minute when the "ride share" app finally said "no drivers in the area". We were under the gun to catch a shuttle. They were available, courteous, and after finding the street, prompt. This is why I like taxis. read more

Couple of weeks ago I called just after midnight to ask for a ride to go to the emergency room, gave them my address and was told it would be a little wile. One hour , no cab, I called again and was assures I was ' still of the list' .....they NEVER call or showed up. I will not be calling them anytime in the future read more

I called at about 7pm to set up a cab for my son, a freshman at Willamette University, at 11 pm. I was told to call back at 10 pm to set it up. I call back at 9:45 pm, spoke to the same dispatcher and was told that they were 3 hours out so the earliest they could get him was 1am. I told her that SHE had told me to call back at 10 to schedule the cab and she (very rudely) told me they were 3 hours out and if I had needed something sooner, I should have scheduled it before. I missed my appointment because the cab was 25 min late and of that 15 min they were telling the cab will be in a moment, it's there, just 30 seconds more etc. I don't recommend the service if you want to arrive to your appointment on time. read more

Took train to Oregon State Fair (freeway driving way too fast, crowded & crazy) and used Willamette Valley Yellow Cab to get from train station to hotel, from there to fair - they later picked us up at main gate to the fairgrounds and back to hotel. Next day they delivered us back to the station. Each time they were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Their cars were yellow which made them easily identifiable and they were very affordable. Would recommend their service to anyone!!! read more

scheduled a 5 PM taxi with yellow cab. Called 545 they promised to be there by six called 605 promised 615. Cab showed up at 6:45. The problem was they left a handicapped young man standing on the front porch of an office building from 5:30 to 6:45. Instead of being honest about the arrival time of the cab and letting us call somebody else They kept us as a customer by not being truthful. Terrible service. I've lived in larger cities (Seattle, Portland) and I have never waited this long for a cab. I looked up and it was 3:45 and I had called earlier. I waited...and waited...and the receptionist called and this dispatcher said, "first we have so and so, and then this one, and THEN we're coming to get you." WHAT?? Maybe this is a Salem thing, but I will never use them again if possible. It would be 10 minutes by car to go where I wanted and you want me to wait HOW LONG???? If I wasn't injured, I could have WALKED to where I was going. read more

Hi, So I have used Yellow Cab twice and the taxi drivers have been prompt and very friendly/kind. I have absolutely NO complaints about the drivers. HOWEVER, the dispatcher---John if I am correct---needs more than a few lessons in customer service. Not only is he hostile toward customers, he had the audacity to hang up on us when we were politely curious to know where a taxi was that we had asked for more than 40 min. ago. Yes, our train arrived late. Yes, sometimes it is tough to get a taxi out right away. But it doesn't take a class in Communication 101 to know that if you are running a business, you have to inform your customers that it might be longer than 20 min. WE HAD TO ASK, and he answered with "it should be 5 min, MAYBE" in a sarcastic, demeaning tone. Solution? A) Never use this taxi company again, 2) YOU should never use this company again, 3) They should rid themselves of this John character if they ever expect to be a professional service. Highly recommend!! My husband was having a hernia operation in Salem and since we live in Corvallis and had to be there early in the morning plus my husband was being put under with anesthesia, we felt it was better to take a cab. I called and pre-paid for the rides both ways. The drivers were both excellent, and even though we had to change the time we were leaving from Salem to return to Corvallis and the location (My husband ended up in the ER at Salem Hospital shortly after his surgery.), Willamette Valley Yellow Cab did a great job!! They arrived right on time and got us home safely. read more

Called for a ride and was told it was a 30 minute wait. An hour later I call back to ask where they are and am told they are on their way.After 1:20 they finally show up. Although the cab appeared to be clean, something in there was causing me to cough the whole ride. As soon as I get out of the cab, the coughing stops. I had used another cab company for a ride to the same place that morning and the total was $7. The yellow cab driver used an entirely different route which was intentionally longer.
