We are new to camping and our camp place didn't have a dump site, so we looked up where to dump, and came here to dump our tanks. We usually come here to dump. This particular day was HORRIBLE. I came into the office, paid to dump and the lady working in the office said "go all the way around" and pull into #___ - the spot was a pull through. I had never driven before, my husband had, I thought it would be good practice, I drove all the way around, like I was told. Then realized I went in the site backwards. Before I knew it, this lady was at my window, speaking to me like I was a complete idiot, in the 1st grade. First of all, people make mistakes. Second of all, the way that she spoke to me, was uncalled for and completely disrespectful. I didn't even have 30 seconds to correct my mistake, before I was being scolded like a child in a rude manner by another adult. She could've approach me in a completely different way and spoken to me in a far more polite tone. She then proceeded to tell me "I told you to go around the building." and come in this way--- No, you did not. You said go around, which I did and I made a mistake by pulling in the drive thru the wrong way....a HUMAN ERROR. But I guess she's perfect, from the way she reacted, spoke to me and treated me. She also yelled at me for driving over a 3 inch corner of grass. The grass is yellow ma'am....again, I made a mistake, it wasn't intentional. But I didn't get a word in before being spoken to disrespectful. Instead of arguing with her, and telling her you did not say that or explaining myself. I simply apologized, said it was a mistake and i was new to driving a trailer. She didn't care. She just wanted me to know how stupid i was. I wanted to de-escalate the situation because obviously she is extremely upset with her life, the world, her job, or just miserable in general and if I would've said anything else, it would've escalated the situation. So I apologized and corrected the mistake after being spoken to in the most rude and disrespectful manner. I will never be back to this RV park and I will continue to tell everyone that I know about my negative interaction. A grown adult should never speak to another grown adult in this way. Especially when we are paying for services and unintentionally drove into the site the wrong way. I mean come on, does that warrant this kind of treatment? I would hate to be an employee of this place or someone staying there and not doing everything perfect. I am sure I am not the first person that she has done this too, her reaction was completely unwarranted for the situation that happened. If she's an owner, I feel sorry for anyone that stays there or works there. If she's an employee, I would look at her actions and getting a replacement employee quickly. I can tell you, As a double business owner Myself, I would NEVER act like her. This person is making your place of business look so much worse than I'm sure it is. You can tell she's confrontational in life, if you're upset about someone pulling into a spot the wrong way, when you didn't give specifically clear instructions.

I used to swim in the river here as a child and have many great memories. It looks like things have changed, as the river has over time but not in a bad way. I am glad the ferry is still here and operational. I can remember many times when the ferry is closed because the river is too high due to high water. I would drive down to the fields just to see how high the water was down by the ferry. Often times the gate would be closed at the turn off road, so you could not go back there. It is not too badly priced to ride, but they do want cash, or check. No credit, or debit card is the only bummer. My room was far larger than expected, and was very well-equipped. In addition to all the standards (in-room refrigerator, microwave, etc.) was a white noise (and others) machine to assist with sleep (one minor gripe is that the sound isolation between rooms isn't terribly great), and a wall-mounted thermostat for the air conditioner and heat. One very thoughtful touch was two bottles of water, free of charge, already in my room upon arrival. Staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. My room was immaculate, and there were no signs of wear on anything nor neglected repairs. Complimentary breakfast was better than most. The mains also vary from day to day. There is a separate waffle station from the main hot dishes, and it features pastries that were far better than most, which was a really pleasant surprise. The covered parking garage is TIGHT, and is shared with the in-hotel restaurant (Bentley's), and the Salem Convention Center, so it can get crowded. There are two "Blink" EV charging stations, which is appreciated.

Then I retired and in September of 2024, I made it my full-time home base. Over the past summer, I traveled more than 12,000 miles, visiting 53 RV parks along the way. I can honestly say that Phoenix RV Park is the best park I stayed in all summer. The streets are paved, and the sites are concrete. There is a patch of green grass between the sites along with trees, shrubbery, and foliage. Although I was gone at the time, I understand there was a problem with the irrigation system this past summer. However, when I returned in October, the grass at my site was still green, and it was obvious, from the work I could see going on, that the park was putting a significant amount of money into getting the system upgraded and repaired. The grounds are well maintained. Phoenix RV Park has cleanest laundry facilities I used all summer, including many public laundromats. In addition, there are three small dog parks, restrooms with showers, a workout/meeting room, a small store with RV essentials, a huge DVD library and even a gathering room with a full kitchen that is available with prior arrangements. You can tell that a great deal of effort is put into providing a welcoming environment for the residents. I understand that there may be plans in the works to make it even more "homey" for those of us who call it home. Melanie (the manager) and Rob (all around maintenance guy) run the park well. Melanie has always been friendly, helpful, and cooperative, and has gone out of her way to provide me with reasonable requests. From the research I did, Phoenix RV Park is, at the very least, competitively priced, and is lower than many other RV Parks in the northern Willamette Valley. I've made some meaningful friendships in the time I've been here. Overall, I'd recommend Phoenix RV Park all day long. It's a place to put down some of your roots and stay a while.
