Pay attention to the hours. And good luck if the river is too high. They will be closed.

This is a fun way for the family to experience transportation a hundred years ago. There is no bridge here, so naturally, you must have a little ferry. It saves you some miles as you head back to the Hwy 5 after a day of wine tasting in that region (there are lots of fine wineries nearby) and cheese sampling at the nearby Willamette Valley Creamery. It only takes a few minutes to cross, and costs $2 per car, $1 for a cyclist. It does not operate when the river is high and is also closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Very pretty, rural scenery, there are grassy areas on either side of the river for picnicking and frolicking by the water. But of course, always practice water safety because the river is deep and swift.

Historic historic! 9 cars loaded on at one time, guided by a motor and aerial cable to keep from drifting away. $2/car and takes about 2-3 min to cross!!!

My first time riding this on a Harley! Lol

I used to use it quite a bit with my Grandma so we can get produce from across the river to her near by farm.

Sometimes it quite difficult trying to figure out exactly what gifts to buy for your family members…read moreeach year so instead of buying each person a gift, I gifted my entire family this wonderful lunch cruise offered by Portland Spirit. Everyone in my family (wife and 3 adult kids) had a blast. Our server, Liliana, was quite accommodating and did a great job taking care of our food, drinks and deserts. The Manager, Cory, was welcoming as well. He brought us to our seats and also sang a song for someone who was celebrating birthday/anniversary along with our live piano player. Captain Cody did a great job navigating the boat up and down the river. The ride was smooth and enjoying. What a great experience! The food was delicious and generous portions. I had the marinated beef, while we tried the chicken and blackened steelhead. All delicious! The complimentary bread was the show stopper. It was a focaccia bread that had some thickness to the dough yet delicious and quite addicting. We had a chance to walk up to the top deck to get some fresh air. The forward part of the boat is covered which what we needed since it was sprinkling outside. The deck was wet but one of the crew members was quick to sweep the water away from the deck to avoid any accidents. We are looking forward to the cruise again but for dinner and probably not until end of spring or summer when the weather gets better. Parking garage is 1 block away. We went on a Saturday and the parking was flat rate $6 which was reasonable.

They were very friendly, made the experience very enjoyable. The bruch spread was great which are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian friendly. All the items were freshly made and they were amazing. We tried almost everything and loved it. Drinks can be ordered on the cruise. The live piano playing and singing added such a fun, lively atmosphere and it was easily one of my favorite parts of the cruise. You can go upstairs for the beautiful views of different bridges along the way with information about them being told by the crew. The time just flew by and we were able to experience Portland during the fall season in November. Overall, a must visit if you are visinting portland for the first time or been here for a while.

I followed up 1 week after the call and she let me know she would have something to me in a week. This was February 10th and the last I have heard since. Since February 10th, I have been unable to get a response from her or the company about the travel plan. I sent multiple kind emails asking for a timeline, left voicemails and spoke to the person who answered the main phone pleading for someone to call me back. Against my better judgement, I still stuck with it thinking they were helping me. A full month later, I have still not received an ounce of communication and we are having to move onto a different company. It is putting our family in a bad situation and now is a month of time wasted. I have no idea why this agent "ghosted me" and is refusing the event reply to an email or call me back. A simple, "I am still working on it" or "it turns out I don't have the bandwidth to handle your request" email would have sufficed, however I can't event get that from her or the company. It is really disappointing and very unprofessional. This is my first experience with a travel agent in over 20 years and it was disappointing to say the least. I'd caution you on using Willamette International Travel if this is the way they feel the need to treat their customers. I can't imagine this happening if a problem with a flight or hotel reservation would come up, you would be on your own to figure it out.
