Colene Clemens- Our third stop!
Kara A.

My husband and I took this tour as we wanted to tour wineries but didn't want to be in a tour van with other people due to COVID. Plus, who doesn't like the opportunity to burn off some of the calories you're drinking? Lisa took us to some great wineries- both for the experience / views as well as the wine itself. The biking was a bit more aggressive than we anticipated but definitely doable for 95% of people, and for anyone concerned- they do offer a car if it's too much at any point. We would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area and take it again in a heartbeat!

Wine de Roads was such a unique and amazing way to experience Oregon wine country. Phil and Lisa were great guides and so knowledgeable and informative about the wine and agriculture in the Willamette Valley. We got way more than we expected on this trip, including a small winery tour. The bikes were nicer than expected and the ride was very organized and followed bike safety guidelines. The route wasn't too easy or too strenuous for any ages/activity levels in our group. It was such a beautiful way to experience the valley and I love that they supported local smaller wineries. The meal spread at the second winery was just what we needed to refuel. The meal paired so nicely with the wine tastings! We will definitely be using Wine de Roads again for our next event.

The tasting room is filled with art created by the owner, James Frey and is featured not only on the walls but used for many of the bottle labels. Our server, Nick, was well educated on what he was pouring and made the whole tasting experience a great way to spend a dreary Friday afternoon. It was tough to limit my self to 2 bottles to take home and went with the nontraditional Oregon pinot selections even though those were good. I love me a good Pinot Blanc and anything, Walla, Walla. The 2 bottles, one, from their 1841 label, were added to my wine fridge. This stop is definitely worth it on a Ribbon Ridge Wine tour. I am anxious to go back for a Gin tasting from their newest venture, a distillery, called Brixeur Spirits. It sits on the property to left of the original tasting room where one can taste various Gins and maybe, a new specialty cocktail?

The wines are DELICIOUS (we did the red tasting), and if you're lucky enough to meet Alice or other family members who own and run the vineyard, your day will be complete! Such lovely, fun folks. As if the setting and people aren't enough, owner James Frey's paintings on display are stunning!! So much love poured into this place, from the vines to the tasting room to the art to the lovely outdoor deck seating with beautiful views of the vineyards. We can't wait to return!

The wines blew my mind the first time and I left with Relentless as well as Shameless with matching Tshirt. When I walked in for the second visit wearing my Shameless Tshirt I got hugs and a gracious welcome. This winery is doing exciting things beyond just wine! Their son is working on a sustainability non-profit project and their beautiful daughter is working with her dad to create an exclusive Hazelnut Liqueur. I was privileged to get a good whiff of it and I hope to be one of the first to taste and purchase their new product! I am a huge fan of their magnificent wines. I must say that the review left by Dr.X only leaves me to believe X must have burned his pallet prior to tasting these seductive wines. "Shameless" is truly that! - it overwhelms, not just your taste buds but your core - and for a second you doubt the sanctity if allowing yourself to indulge in more, yet you will (and should) with abandon. While I am usually a Red Wine Goddess... We are approaching Summer and my entire mission for this trip was to collect delicious, refreshing Summer Whites. The Styring Riesling completely met my needs. The name "Whimsy" couldn't be more perfect. Needless to say, this visit, I left with some whimsy shamelessness and a brand new "breathless" Tshirt. Glorious!
