Worst customer service I've ever encountered. I rented a car in December after an accident and the other driver's insurance was covering the whole cost. After I returned the car they charged me a hidden fee which apparently was the tax. I called the insurance and they said to not pay it because they paid for everything. I disputed the charge and got a refund after resolving the issue with an employee there. Three months later I'm charged again with the same fee without authorizing them to charge my credit card. Stay away from this place! read more

Worst car rental experience. I made a reservation with their location in Paramus and they quoted me $26 for everything, including taxes. Because the auto shop I went to was closer to this location, I asked to pickup from this location. They told me the rate was different over the phone, and quoted $28, which was acceptable. However, when I picked up the car, the total came out to $42 after taxes, which they said was not included in the quote and that every location is different in terms of what is included in the quote. I was surprised by the lack of consistency between different locations. They were able to change the pickup location of the reservation in their system but quoted rates that were inconsistent that I could not compare accurately. I had no choice but to accept the quote since my car was in repair. It ended up that the repair only took an hour. When I returned the car, I asked for a refund for the difference, but they refused, instead offering me a free upgrade, which I refused since I would not rent from this location again. The staff is really nice, but due to this incident I will not be a returning customer. My advice is to book your reservations online, on say Kayak, that offers lower rates, taxes included. read more

Went here because of the close proximity to my house. I had originally needed a car because of an accident I was in and was happy with selection. The employee I talked to told me that I would not have to pay anything and he would knock down the price of the car for me so that insurance would pay for it. That was a lie and I was left with a bill when I returned the car to them. I would NOT recommend going to such a dishonest place. read more

Worst place ever. I was here due to a no fault accident. The other driver was paying for the rental. I had to leave a deposit and signed papers, etc. When I got in the car, i was told I had to initial a few spots on a tablet before driving off with the vehicle. The worker (wyatt) was explaining the coverage options Enterprise offered and I said i didnt need anything. He continued to state all the addtional options. HE DID NOT VERBALLY ASK IF I WANTED TO ADD ON THOSE COVERGES (i already told him i didnt need anything) He decides to decline half and add on half. Noticed all these charges and called to have them removed immediately. I was told that the first few days would be my responsibility. Makes no sense because I never agreed to ANY of these coverages. Called the enterprise HQ a few times and then the charges disappeared. I thought everything was taken care of until they charged me AGAIN. I called and was told that it was a mistake and that their manager would be calling back to address this. No one calls..of course-.- so I call back just to be told that I am responsible again..WTF??? r u kidding me?! calling headquarters again cause clearly, the workers there have NO CLUE wth is going on. You don't make decisions for drivers accepting or declining offers you provide. Simply stating coverages options does NOT MEAN YES. In the beginning, the worker who had me initial is Wyatt. When I spoke to him he told me that when he stated the coverage options, I was saying ok. IT WAS VERY CLEAR IT WAS AN "OKAY" WHILE NODDING TO SHOW YOU THAT I UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU WERE SAYING BUT I SAID IDIDNT NEED ANYTHING FROM THE BEGINNING!! YOU NEVER ASKED "Would you like those coverages added? You just decided to add on whatever you wanted to. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. This place needs professional workers who know what they're doing. OH, and the rental cars smell here. Really bad. read more

I rented a car at this location via Priceline.com, so they got me a pretty good rate. Upon arriving at the dealership to pick up the car, they were unable to add my second driver because he didn't have a credit card. Apparently, additional drivers cannot use a debit card as validation, not even if they have the proper documentation for renting the car (which is an extensive amount of mail proving that your address is your proper address, a pay stub, and your first born child). However, since this policy is not listed on the website (it only states that one can add an additional driver for a fee, which is also not specified), we didn't have any of that documentation. Strike one. The attendant helping us out was polite enough, until I gave him my credit card to process the fee. I wanted to use an AmEx card because they provide rental insurance if you use their card to rent the car, but the card reader on the computer couldn't seem to read my card. Instead of volunteering to manually enter the information, he asked me if I could use another card. I told him no, because of the insurance policy I wanted to take advantage of. He sat behind the counter, swearing at my card, trying to make the card reader scan it, before finally going over to a manager and asking for a form to manually enter the data. My favorite part is that while reading the card to type the numbers into the computer, he mumbled something about 'Wow, I can barely read the numbers on this'. I'm sorry sweetheart, would you like me to read it to you? I'm the customer here. He spent the rest of the transaction not saying much of anything. He never asked us if we wanted to pay for a tank of gas at their rate so we wouldn't have to worry about filling it up, never said anything about the late night return policy (my return was scheduled for 9p on a Saturday, and they close at noon), never asked if we wanted any add-ons like a GPS or an EZpass. The kicker is that when were all set to go get the car, and he handed the paperwork to another employee, he came out from behind the counter, shook my partner's hand, and very nearly didn't shake mine, even though I was the one paying for the entire rental. All in all, I'm totally frustrated with the company and this particular location's employees. I will never personally rent from Enterprise again, because they were extremely unhelpful and rude, to boot. read more

So apparently the 1-800 number you book the car with doesn't communicate with the actual store. Ordered a car with a representative, was told it would be no problem. Get to the store and I wasn't able to rent it at all. Wasted time and money to get there, and then the manager told me the closest one they had was 50 minutes away ... ridiculous. Never again. read more

ZERO STARS!!! Cant post without adding a star!!!I wish I went to Teaneck or another branch instead!!! GO TO ANOTHER BRANCH!!! The manager was rude and a liar. I just had an accident and needed to switch to a SUV and a few were already there. While l was trying to exchange vehicles the manager told me to come back after he dealt with night rush. I was appalled and said NO, I'm in pain and not coming back when you have 4 SUVs here. You're getting good money from my insurance because its going to take more than a month to repair my car. He only changed his mind after I threatened to have it transferred to Teaneck. He was a jerk. He told me the transfer was the same price but when I got the bill it was a lie. I had the rental for almost 2 months and that's how poor he teated me. When I returned the car another manager was there and when i told him what problem I had he didn't care and told me to put all 5 star for a rating. These people here are liars, uncaring, and thieves. Poor customer service!!! Go somewhwre else. read more

Truly unprofessional customer service at this hackensack location. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location and frankly enterprise for your rentals. They ended up sending me to collection because of balance of $205 ( after already being charged on my card for about $1100 and getting an insurance payment of $1500- I had an insurance claim that lasted about 47days). I went into the location to get an invoice explanation of the $1100 charged on my card and determined they overcharged me with a rate over what was agreed. They didn't bother to send me an invoice and billed out my account to immediately send it to collection. I explained they overcharged me and the manager Sean agreed but stated they needed approval from district manager. Over a week passes by and I don't get a call. I call every few days to resolve the issue and they say the same thing about getting a call. I call corporate and they too say they escalated the case and I should get a call. I get no call back and I still don't know my account status. Sean threaten to call the cops on me when I came in to resolve the issue. They have no idea they are in the customer service business. Easy decision to never rent from enterprise again. read more

I got married back in June 2014. I wasn't into the whole showing up at the church in a rolls royce and what not, I preferred a Fiat! My parents are both straight off the both from Sicily, and my dads very first car was a Fiat, so I thought, it would be nice to keep to my roots and show up in a Fiat. I contacted Enterprise about two months prior, and explain the situation. I spoke to the Manager (I can't remember if her name was Michelle or Jennifer) and one of the member service reps. I stressed how important this was to me, and I am happy to report that they did a wonderful job! I spoke to them at least once a week, they got me the color I wanted, and of course by the weekend of my wedding! They were extremely helpful, kind, and professional throughout this whole process! I am so happy they were able to help! read more

Phenomenal service. Both the manager and the employee were friendly, accommodating and worked very quickly. Great service.

Adam is the man! I love that whenever I come into this location, everyone knows who I am, and I'm in and out in no time flat. Everyone I've dealt with is really delightful and great to chat with, which is always helpful when you're spending some time in the car with them either to or from your home or other destination. All in all, excellent. read more

Poor and unreliable service. No accommodation for bad service or misrepresented service. Their computer system is also antiquated and seems not to update information entered from past contracts which leads to long wait times when you show up. Overall disappointed. I went to rent a car for a three day weekend , got there and Adrian upgraded me from a Hyundai Elantra to a Chrysler 200 (Nice Vehicle) paid $5 more for the upgrade, he also recommended me the insurance just in case, glad I got it cause someone did scratch the car, what I wasn't aware of was the $200 deposit I had to put down aside from the renting fee. But after that everything was good. read more

I needed a car asap for a family emergency because my car was in the shop and the mechanic could not get it back on time. I called this location. Alexis picked me up within fifteen minutes after Kevin took care of the reservation in about five min. The deal was great the service was beyond my expectations. Alexis deserves a six stars. She represents the company better than any other employee i bet. Great service! Wonderful and super efficient staff read more

Enterprise representatives were very helpful from the moment I walked in the door they guided me to a car that would suit my needs being that I was in a hit-and-run accident. Great Enterprise office with very helpful and courteous staff. Smooth transition with picking up/dropping off car, but they do get really busy on the weekends. Overall, I would rent from here again without question. read more

I have never rented a car before, so this was totally new experience for me. And I have to say this was ABSOLUTELY stress free and pleasant experience!!! Raya explained me all the details about rental agreement and answered all the questions I had (I had 3000 :0) she also recommended a great car which I enjoyed driving for 12 days while my own car was getting fixed. I was picked up and taken back to my repair shop right on time, and representatives that gave me rides were very professional and super nice. Good job guys and thank you for all your work!!! I will definitely come back again!!! Highly recommend!!! read more

Horrible experience. This is the second time this happens to me at this location. The lady at the front desk was super rude and she got really upset i don`t have a secondary phone number, she told me she has four phone numbers and that i have an attitude, so she is going to pass me to her colleague, that made me wait 25 minutes in order to ask the same question, plus where i work and when i said i work for myself, he said he can`t help me and trow my DL and CC back. This happened after i had a confirmed booking online. read more

Was very happy with my rental experience. The guys were courteous and helpuf. I booked through my costco membership and saved alot. Ended up driving a brand new impala, pretty loaded for $165 for the week, including taxes. Crazy good deal. And when I returned it, they drove me back, as usual. I rented a car for the weekend from Enterprise in Hackensack... returned my car on time... my ride back home (5.5 miles away) didn't show up so I asked enterprise to give me a ride home ...and they told me it was too far away... so I told him that if my ride did happen to show up to tell him that I had to walk home... the guy's response was " you're walking?" I said yes because I have no other choice, that I just spent all my money on the car rental and had no cash for a cab... and his only response was "sorry"... a big thumbs down to Enterprise read more

This company has gone down in the customer service side of the business. When you can't ensure availability of your vehicles you shouldn't book the reservation but I suppose wasting my time doesn't cost them anything so why don't we have u come in only to be told that there aren't any more vehicles available. Never use Enterprise please do yourself a favor and go with another company for your business. read more

I love coming to this Enterprise! I rent here frequently for work and I have NEVER had any issues. Every time I come in I'm greeted with smiling faces. The managers and staff know their clients on a first name basis and make it a point to meet your needs. I have never had to wait. My cars are always clean and fresh smelling. Wonderful experience! My car had broken down near Hackensack while I was driving from CT to Washington, DC and the manager, Sean, was incredibly helpful in getting a rental car for me and even more generous in letting me leave my ailing car in the lot for a tow truck to pick up. All of this was taken care of within 30 minutes of closing time. I'm so grateful the office is open until 7 when the other Enterprise offices in the area close at 6. Initially, I did not realize that Sean was the manager as he was really hustling around the place getting things done! Very impressed and would rent from Enterprise again. The car was also in great shape and got my little dog and me safely to DC. read more

Had a pleasant experience at this Enterprise location. The rep was courteous and explained the rental terms in detail. This has been the worst place my husband and I have ever used to rent a car. First they will convince you to add their insurance, even if you have your own, which is what I did. Biggest scam ever!!!! I paid more for one week of insurance here than what I pay "full coverage" in my personal car in one month. Also, they took a certain amount from my credit card to hold until I returned the rental. They then told me I would get my deposit back, one week later I had never received it. I called and was told that it was added to the insurance of the car. That is ridiculous!!!!!! I suggest going elsewhere for a rental. Totally not worth it. In total I paid a little over $500.00 for a Ford Focus rented for 9 days. Yes, over $500!!! If I could give less than one star I would. Total rip off!!! They're inconsistency of pricing and dishonesty is unlike I have ever seen. I suggest using Hertz. Never have had this problem and when they speak pricing, everything is very clear. Worst service ever. read more

Terrible experience. Went to pick up a car that my husband needed for work next morning to leave at 6am. We reserved it online a day prior, the guy working there said he didn't have our reserved economy car and tried to give us a more expensive car that was out of our budget. He was not a bit accommodating for not having the right car for us and we simply couldn't take the more expensive one so we were left with no car. Went to Hertz down the street and got an economy car within 20 minutes. read more

Read the fine print on your contract. if you dont feel like reading the fine print you're better off going to a larger corporate rent a car place where if there is a disagreement or misunderstanding you may have more recourse via company headquarters. Also, stay on emails when dealing with these guys - they won't give it to you unless you ask. and its a complicated / strange number email - but dont relay on any phone conversations with them. read more

I found the staff at this location to be personable and trustworthy, although at a couple points when they were busy they seemed a little flustered -- not while helping me but just in talking with each other behind the counter, in coordinating who would do what as business picked up that Saturday morning. I rented a vehicle that I drove all over the place on a New England road trip, over 1500 miles in the course of 10 days. It was an economy car (Nissan Versa to be specific) that worked like a charm. I booked it months in advance online with a family member discount, which required me to use the Loss Damage Waiver. That ended up adding $75 to my total cost, but given how much I saved over renting a car in NY, it was well worth it, and I also got the roadside assistance for a reasonable price as well (and thankfully didn't end up needing to use it). Returning the car was a quick and easy process. I would rent from here again without hesitation. read more

avoid this place at all cost! they will rip you off and blame you for car damage.
