Due to our late arrival on a Friday and departure on a Sunday, there were few car rental companies that were even open / willing to work with this schedule. Luckily, Hertz was one of those that was available... I booked online and followed up with a phone call as our trip approached. Originally, no mini vans were available, so I booked a sedan, but was worried it would not be big enough to accommodate me, my husband, my brother, my two kids, and all of our luggage. Luckily, when I called, Dawn was able to find us a mini-van! Dawn could not have been friendlier or more attentive to our needs. We were also able to secure two car seats and were pleased all around with the rental from Hertz. We did pay a lot of $$ for it, but it was worth it. I'd definitely recommend going through this Hertz location if you find yourself in need of a rental anywhere near Pellston!

Every…read moretime I typically try to rent a car, it's not the most pleasant due to not having consistent good service at different rental car companies. I notice most staff at rental car companies seem annoyed and not as helpful. I noticed this location was different when I called them to ask questions and the person that answered was extremely nice and very helpful with giving me clarity. I believe her name was something like Vickie. I had a good feeling of giving them a chance after my conversation with her because I originally considered using Enterprise. In addition, I received a reminder call from the manager which was a touch of detail I didn't expect. I verbally said to myself, "Wow. They even care enough to give reminder calls?" No other company has ever done that. When I got to the location, I was greeted by Vickie and Ms. Angelia. They were so calm and welcoming, which is something I rarely see at rental companies. My process of getting my rental was TOO EASY. I was able to drive a nice brand new Toyota 4 Runner with 8 miles on it and the price was great along with the car's performance. I returned my car to Ms. Angelia and that was an easy process as well. My entire experience with them was super pleasant. I HIGHLY recommend this location. I can't wait to use their services again in the future.

I was running late to a business meeting so I took the upgrade. There was also a lack of clear communication about insurance options. I would strongly recommend being cautious before adding any extra coverage. Overall, I had to call afterward to get charges corrected, which was frustrating and time-consuming. I left feeling very dissatisfied with the entire experience and will not be renting through this company again Also, wanted to add I was not the only one waiting. When I left there was over 5 people also waiting that long for a vehicle. We make reservation, please honor them or don't take them.

Once I got to the location. After I've given my identification and credit card. I'm then told they don't have a pick up for me to rent! REALLY? The associate helping me had the attitude of it is what it is...take it or leave it.. After complaining that I booked a pick up. There was no apology. I was only told that I could upgrade to a minivan. Oh yeah, I was assured that a minivan is an upgrade from a pick up. That made me feel so much better.(NOT!) The associate saw the frustration on my face! YET she tried nothing to make me feel better about the experience! I asked about my AAA discount. I was told that I had to book it online or book it through AAA! WOW!!! I can't forget the "wumdinger" of them all. I asked the associate when is there a pickup scheduled to come back in? She told me there was one scheduled to show back up at 5pm! BUT... there would be NO ONE available to clean it! WOW!!! So why in did you tell me about it then? The minivan had damage to the fender. I had to point this out to the associate. She wouldn't walk out to the vehicle. I had to drive it to her. It was just a bad experience people. After I returned the vehicle they still didn't give me my AAA discount. I know they can do it manually. Because they've done it for other renters I know! I should've been compensated just for the foolishness I had to endure. Needless to say.. I WILL NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION AGAIN! Unless.. I absolutely have no choice but to rent from this location! I don't have to beg any business to take my money especially this one! The customer experience with this one particular associate was bad!!! I don't usually call names... So I'll leave her initials. I was assured that they had one available, so I went ahead and made my purchase. About 15 minutes later, the location called me back and said they actually did not have a truck. When I explained that I had called specifically to verify availability before making the purchase, the person I spoke with was extremely rude and tried to make it seem like it was my fault. She then put me on hold for about 20 minutes. I hung up and tried calling back, only to be put right back on hold again. I then contacted Enterprise customer service and was told a district manager would call me to help get the situation resolved. Two hours later, I still had not received a call, and the location was about to close. This caused a major inconvenience and could have been avoided if I had been given accurate information or treated with basic customer service once the mistake happened. I understand inventory can change, but I do not understand confirming a truck, having me act on that information, then being rude when Enterprise's information turned out to be wrong. Very disappointing experience.
