Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm smiles and my first name (I think they both had my voice committed to memory after not only emails but calls with questions), and the checkout process was speedy and efficient. The Suburban I had specifically requested was absolutely perfect and exactly what the four of us needed to travel in comfort to and from Chicago for my son's wedding week! I love the fact that National sent an email the day prior to pickup, informing me of the exact time our rental would be delivered to the airport (three hours prior to my scheduled pickup time)---that helped this mother-of-the-groom check one more item off of a very long list! Upon our return, check-in was even speedier than checkout which was a blessing because we were all exhausted and ready to return to our respective homes. After a fiasco of 4+ hours on hold with corporate Hertz, we were directed to exchange cars at no extra charge. I had been driving a 4x4 5-passenger rental car due to it being winter and looming snow on the forecast. I was originally given the choice of a minivan or medium car, which would neither fit a family+luggage/presents nor would they travel well in snow. Luckily, they rechecked for available cars and found we would only be able to take a compact car due to them being a licensee. We were unimpressed, and resigned to figure it out elsewhere. After another 2 hours on the phone with Roadside, we were left with hoping for a SUV or minivan to return. When we went in the next day, they didn't have any SUVs or minivans...but the manager (Mari?) was able to have a car driven down from NW Arkansas at no expense to us and we were luckily given an upgraded vehicle with satellite (for the wide expanses of Interstate 40 that didn't have radio) and other millennial gimmicks like remote start and climate control. We would rate our first trip in a 2 star, and our second trip in a definite 5 star. Your mileage may vary.

They didn't have the size car that was reserved and stated we would have to pay more for the next size up. I've personally never had to pay for the company not having the reserved vehicle. This Fort Smith location lied to my elderly disabled father and caused him $1200 for a rental car…read morefor only two days. Not only did the vehicle look bad at exterior and on the interior... The seats were literally so coded in dirt. They were supposed to be tan but they were brown. The smell in the vehicle was so bad I felt so bad for him, having to drive it for a long distance. They lied to him face-to-face at this Fort Smith Arkansas location saying he can pick it up at point A and drop it off at point B. But they made a mistake and it was supposed to be returned back to Fort Smith Arkansas, which was never disclosed. And he was informed that he can drive it to point B with no problem but that wasn't the case either and ended up costing a $1200 fee including taxes that he wasn't able to afford so I had to pay. Whether if it was an honest mistake from the Avis employee, or if it was just intentional, I will not ever let him rent with Avis car rental and I will defer anybody from doing so especially at this location

Spoke to Jason at Jody's on the phone on Friday morning around 10 a.m., just about getting my car…read moretowed to a dealer in town for a check engine light, and my car running rough. When I found out they also did repairs, he said they'd be able to get me in and get the diagnostic done on the day, which the dealer couldn't even touch it 'til Monday. So, I went with Jody's. They came and picked it up at my house, with a flatbed, within an hour, got it down there, did the diagnostic, did the fix, and were able to get the keys back in my hands by 4 p.m. The mouse-chewed wires unfortunately weren't covered under my platinum warranty, but they wouldn't have been covered at the dealers, either! I know I got my car back faster, and that the price was probably even a little lower, and I honestly couldn't be more pleased. Hopefully no more un-warrantied issues with my Nissan Kicks, but if I do, I'll have Jody's deal with them. Time to go get some mouse and rat repellent!
