Should be zero stars. On Nov 17th I got a quote and subsequent reservation for a 1/2 ton pickup rental to use while my truck is in the shop for body work. It was an insurance company claim.They quoted me $47 a day. I called to verify it was ready to pickup and was told they didn't do business with The Hartford insurance and my rate was $75 a day and I had to pay by credit card. When getting ready to provide my card info the agent told me the rate would be $125. This is an illegal bait and switch ploy. They are crooked don't do business with them read more

I should have reviewed this location a long time ago. I have been renting Enterprise cars in Amarillo ever since I started coming here years ago. I started dealing with the 26th Street location and then transferred to this one when the employees I liked were moved over here. I have been consistently extremely happy with the customer service and with the cars. I have dealt with many different employees and they have all been helpful but my two favorites have always been what I call the two Chris's. A couple times I got a new person and there were bookkeeping errors because of my payment method, but considering all the rentals I have had in the past two and a half to three years, I have been very satisfied overall. I would absolutely not hesitate to rent from them whenever I need a rental car in the future and can highly recommend them to others. read more

I usually use Hertz and decided to give enterprise a try, worst decision ever. Arrived at the rental location and had to wait a bit. Online I selected a Ford Edge. At location they had a Toyota Rav or Hyundai. Toyota had a bad tire and Hyundai needed an oil change. Then they offered a Jeep that was getting repairs so I would have to come back. Ended up cancelling all together and left in a bad spot without a rental. Will never use enterprise again. read more

This location will leave you hanging! I made a reservation a month in advance and they did not have a vehicle for me. Then I had to reschedule my auto body shop appointment for the next week. The business manager made me another reservation for the following Monday and promised me he would have a rental vehicle. That date rolled around and no vehicle to rent on a insurance claim. They told me they do not take reservations at this location and it is first come first served. It means nothing that you have a reservation. So I called corporate and they assured me they do take reservations. So they made another reservation for today. Naturally no vehicle was there for me. I will never use this company again. They need to change the jingle of we pick you up to WE LEAVE YOU HANGING AND STRANDED AND WE DONT CARE! This location is horrific! read more

I am a frequent local renter and today decided to book to drive to see my family as I always do and thankfully due to my FREQUENT renting I was able to obtain over 1,000 points and earn a free day, but when I showed up a young lady who was in fact new states she needed a pay stub as well as a utility bill to rent out to me. I explain to her that unfortunately I am an entertainer I don't have that, but the manager has always allowed me to rent with no problems. A lady then comes to assist and tells the young girl "you know if someone gets in trouble over this it will be you!" Long story short : they refused to rent to me and YES I did get very irate because of this and although I might have been extreme, I was so upset that I rent from them beyond often and was treated like crap and told I could just come back tomorrow with complete disregard to what I had planned or any inconvenience it might have caused as a FREQUENT and LOYAL customer for the past TWO years!!!! read more

My husband has been to this location twice. The insurance for the person that hit us was supposed to pay for the rental car. On his second trip to this location, he was told a car would be available for him on May 26, 2022. I called today to see about the time we could get the car. They said we never contacted them back. Told the manager to ask her coworker. Oh, suddenly we did contact them but we never finalized the reservation? Ridiculous story change. Asked for her supervisor and she refused to provide me his email or phone number. She said she would pass my message on to "Tim." Now, we might get a car by June 1st? Sure sounds like they don't want to rent to an insurance claim when they can charge more for a holiday weekend. read more

My wife needed a car to drive while her's was being repaired at the body shop. We had reservations to pick up the car and it was ready when we arrived. The entire process took 15 minutes or less. Returning the car was just as easy. The manager personally took care of my wife's return and everything was handled quickly and professionally. Where to start.... this location does not deserve a star whatsoever. I drove 9 hours to Amarillo to get to this enterprise. I rode with my sister as she was staying up here for the week. I was going to take a trip to Colorado with my fiancé. I have many issues with my service- let me lay them out for you. Firstly- this is the FIRST negative review I have ever posted for anything. So here it is- they called me ahead of time, took all my information INCLUDING my address and the fact that I had a debit card that can run as credit. We arrived at the location as another customer was leaving- the workers were SO nice to him.... while we were greeted with side glances and rude tones. My fiancé said "hi how are you" upon arrival and was greeted with no response. We were the ONLY customers in the location. I gave them my DL and card- even though my card could be run as a credit- they told me that they would not do it since I was not from this area. They would not consult the area manager even after I told them that I had traveled so far and told my card would work. I understand not taking a debit card- BUT they should have told me that on my call when I told them my address and my card.... BEFORE I drove 9 hours. They blamed it on "new hires".... but if that is a major policy, then they wouldn't have messed that up. Next thing that happened: they told me if I had a friend that lived in the area that I could use their credit card and put their name on the rental. They told me that if she payed and I payed her back with cash that they could do that. Luckily, I have friend who lives in the area and she said it was fine that I used her credit card. I called them again and they changed their story.... they said that what they told me was not true anymore and that there was no way I could get a car. I have rented with Enterprise many times before this as well as my family renting with them- this is the first time I have ever come across this behavior. Lastly: When we were talking to the workers, they picked up the phone without the phone even ringing, pretended to talk on the phone and completely ignored me. They ignored me for so long that we eventually just had to walk out. I have never ever been treated with so much disrespect and inhumanity in my life. There was absolutely no reason to be so incredibly rude to us the second we walked in. I am a pre-K teacher and my fiancé is black. He was with me when I checked in. The people were not decent to him at all. They did not respond to anything he said at all. I felt as though I was judged the second I walked in as someone untrustworthy just because I am marrying a black man. I never thought I would ever leave a review like this, but here I am. I am also reporting them to the Enterprise Headquarters. The way they treated me and my fiancé needs to end. Racism should not be a factor in any part of life- especially when two perfectly decent and trustworthy people just want to rent a car for 3 days. I am throughly disappointed and hurt by this locations actions. I will NEVER recommend. Avoid this place at all costs. Humanity and help will not be found here. read more

The car itself - an Altima - was fine. A good ride and easy to drive. I guess kudos to Nissan for that! Here were the problems and, before I go into them, I should emphasize that none of them were big deal-breaker problems. Just irritations. I would probably rent from Enterprise again. 1) the car's registration was expired. Only by a few days but still... 2) the "needs oil change" warning light was on when I picked it up. When I pointed this out, I was assured by the worker that the car was fine. However I was renting the car for a long drive through a rural area and wasn't too keen on even the idea of breaking down. That's why I rent cars for drives like this - peace of mind. 3) I was called by Enterprise shortly after picking up the car. Apparently they gave me the wrong car (which might explain problems 1 and 2?) and needed to know which Altima they sent me away with. 4. I had to wait a very long time - 40 minutes - to actually pick up the car. This would have been fine, but it got aggravating watching other customers come in after me and leave before me. Like I said, I would rent from Enterprise again. However, next time I'll probably check Avis or Hertz first. This Enterprise office just seemed pretty disorganized. read more

My first bad experience with this particular location started off when the original location where the vehicle was rented for me reported the vehicle as stolen. I went in to the location to make my weekly payment as I normally did and I was informed about the issue and naturally I got upset. I got on the phone and called the original location and starting telling them off and the manager then begins to yell at me and hands up my phone. telling me I will not talk like that about the company that he work for. Instead of calming me down and apologizing for the miscommunication the Idiot yelled at me and had the nerve to hand up my phone. If it was not for sure desperation and need of the vehicle I would of walked out. I only continued extending my contract because of the pandemic some rental facilities are not open on the weekend when I would be able to returned the vehicle and switched company. I'm not from Amarillo but I am out here temporary working in the city helping out with the pandemic. I needed a vehicle to be able to get around and go home on the weekends (6 hrs away). Today I had the misfortune forgetting my wallet in home city with my new credit card. The one this location had on file was deactivated due to some fraudulent charges. Despite my renting the vehicle with them for over two months they were not flexible or willing to work with me and accept a cash payment for this week until. The girl was rude. The manager could have made an exception and but dint because of our first run in. Their customer service sucks and the when the vehicle needs servicing you have to drive it to Auto Zone and sit there and wait for it. If I can avoid them Enterprise will not ever have my business again. I was humiliated and stereo types my money will be better spent elsewhere. Good by pathetic customer service. read more

TERRIBLE Enterprise Location. Worst customer service ever upon arrival. The lady picked up the phone WHILE I was speaking to her. Until here, I had never been dealt this level of disrespect. Furthermore any card linked to a debit card is not accepted. They should have said BEFORE on the phone as I had stated my address. They were also unable to even tell you what vehicle you've paid for. Horrible customer service! I have rented from many different locations and this is by far the worst customer service that I have experienced. The staff could use better training, I always have reservations and expect to pick up my car in a timely manner. I have used this place twice just because it's in a convenient location but from now on I'll be looking to take my business other places. I have rented a car twice in a row at that location and a new employer did the following 2 things: - Downgraded me the first time (with a corporate reservation) when I was doing a long trip whereas they had some other vehicles in the class above my request. - Rented me a car (again with corporate reservation) with gum and some black matter on the back seat telling me just that it is a "little dirty" but otherwise it is just fine... Needless to say that I have never been so poorly attended by this location. This is the first 2 times that this location has done such a bad job and every time it is the same employee... I have three dealings with this location and all have been very bad. The first time we got a rental to drive while our car was in the shop. We ended up having to exchange for another car while we were in Colorado Springs, because the car we had received had a new windshield that was never recalibrated. The next time the manager was very rude when I went to get my kid's Air Pod out of a car that had been returned. He very rudely he had cleaned the car himself and there was no Air Pod. When I went to look for it, I found the Air Pod and three French fries! Nice job cleaning! The last happened yesterday when we made arrangements with them to pick us up at the shop at 3:00. The shop kept calling with no answer, so we drove over to Enterprise. There was a sign up on the door saying they closed at 3:00!! They made plans to pick us up and never showed!!!!!! Customer service here was terrible. We've had bad experiences with enterprise in the past but decided to give it a try again when my daughter wrecked her car and it went for repair. First they called the wrong number trying to get us a car. Though they'd been talking to my husband before. We had it a very short time and didn't drive it hardly at all. Maybe 50 miles at most. Went to return it which I'd have thought would take 5 min. The girl at the desk took the keys and said she'd be right back with a receipt. 10 min later she returned saying that we got a rock chip in the windshield but that because it was below the size they will charge for ..they wouldn't be charging me this time. That it took her some time to measure. Then she said they are going to need to charge us to fill the gas, unless we want to go fill it. I literally just filled the tank on the way to turn in the car!!!! To full- and even over. She said it doesn't show full so we'd still need to charge for it So I took the car again around the block (and it did move to full on the way) and bought 1 more gallon or less of gas. The gas guy even commented about our tiny charge. I returned again to find a line of people waiting. So waiting 10 min longer. Finally I'm back at the front and the exact same girl acts like we've never seen each other asking me " what can I do for you". So I'm angry now but she finally gets me the receipt after I remind her I got gas.... again. It took almost an hour to do my return My husband said when he picked up the car the first day he pointed out the chip and they told him it's too small to worry with... but now I'm thinking what if it grew while we had it. They guilted me for a chip that was there when we got it! I'm positive they would've charged had it grown. I ask for a card to complain which they gave. I emailed out this story to two people at enterprise and never heard a word back. Nothing!!! Horribly run. read more

I live outside of Amarillo and work for a large company within Amarillo... in fact right across the street. They have always accepted my debit card and proof of address and income and they have always sent me on my way. The lady was very very rude from the beginning. Told me they will not accept my debit card or anything because I live out side of town (on the Carson co line). When I finally was able to produce a cc of which I don't believe in using, I received a low quality vehicle which smelled of weed and the tire light was on. It was also on E. The car smelled so bad and was so dirty and didn't have cruise control so my trip was disastrous and uncomfortable to say the LEAST. Taking my business elsewhere. Unimpressed read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS ENTERPRISE! I brought the car back in mint condition at 12:00 on Sunday and they opened at 1:00. I found out later that they had charged my credit card $527 for damage! We called them and they said they had called both our cells to tell us, but they hadn't. We asked for a picture and didn't get one. I disputed the charge on my credit card pending an investigation and nobody ever called me for my side of the story. Then the corporate office Kansas City called me and said that I didn't owe anything and I would get my refund check in the mail. Then they sent a letter saying I owed $239 and sent a picture of the damage. I had parked the car in the front by the door and in the picture it was parked in a parking lot - NOT where I left it. They said that 6 out of 10 cars are returned damaged and have to be repaired by the body shop right next door! Smells like a scam to me! Now I get a letter saying the $529 was received from my credit card! I've called and left messages to Terri Cartwright and she has not returned my calls. I had a very good experience with renting a vehicle while my car was being repaired, but I noticed I had left some keys in the door pocket . I called Enterprise immediately and was told I would have to file a " lost and found. " Really..... could an employee not go to the car I rented and retrieve the keys and I come pick them up. Very poor customer service....I had to actually pay a locksmith to make me new keys as I didn't have the time for all the red tape on a " lost and found" report. read more
