The pull through spots are spacious It would be a fantastic place to take littles! Tons of things for them to do! Playground, bounce pad & indoor pool! We stayed in our rv but you can rent cabins or even stay in a covered wagon! They had patios with seating & hammocks too! Very nearby is the "Bug Ranch" where you can spray paint VWs and a variety of other things. Across the street is another activity park. We did not go but looked fun. They also have 3 dog parks. It might've been a fluke but one had several messes that were not cleaned. Could've been a visitor but that's the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. Forgot to add...free shuttle to the Big Texas! We will stop again I'm sure!!

By far the worst RV park I have ever been to!…read more Our RV was overheating so we decided to park in the vacant lot across the street from the park to allow the engine/transmission to cool. (There was zero signage in the lot. Only exposed power wires). I was then subsequently illegally blocked into the parking lot by a gentleman who claimed to be the owner of "Big Texan RV Ranch" Andy. The individual refused to identify himself further and repeatedly demanded money from me in the form of cash. Andy then phoned for a worker from the park to block me into the spot. The worker from "Big Texan RV Ranch" then parked his truck on my front bumper damaging it. I had my wife and two kids in the RV at the time. The police were called and the individuals were told to leave by the police or face legal consequences. If I could give less than one star I would. Horrible place, nasty owner who likes to commit felonies. Stay far away from here! I am 100% DAV. Police incident # 26-052426 Texas Penal Code: 20.02 If you are a civil attorney in Texas I would like to speak with you about this matter. Thank you for your time.

It's just an empty lot. I was very excited to go here…read more Check in was easy in that you just call them when you get there then go hookup. Note: There is NO ACCESS to the canyon from here. You CANNOT walk into it from this campground. Everywhere you look are NO TRESSPASSING signs all along the thing, which is super annoying. I chose this place to take the dogs on a nice walk into the canyon but seeing these red NO TRESSPASSING signs everywhere killed it for me. We also hit a horrible snow and ice storm staying here. I had no idea it was going to get so cold. My water hose froze to the RV and the pump. I had to use a lighter and grit to get it unstuck. This was the first RV park I ever stayed at. The fact that we couldn't go into the canyon really killed it. The weather didn't help but I know it's not their fault.

Spots are large and easy to pull through if you come through the center and aim your rig to the outboard sides. Fenced in spots add to privacy as well. So it it just getting better.

It also had private little yard and picnic tables and flowers . Owner came to make sure everything was working perfectly and helped me with my water hose . I didn't care if it wasn't within walking distance to restaurants . I felt as if I was in my own place with my private fence and yard . My dog also loved having her own little space . I plan to go and do some trails at Palo Duro . I am short distance from what I love . You should come out and check it out for yourself . I will definitely come back .

We called at midnight last night and somebody answered and said they had vacancy. We did not have this experience in the other campgrounds in Amarillo. In fact this is the only campground the answer their phone at all hours of the night. Other campgrounds didn't even have anything listed On their office showing vacancy spots or even a map of what they have open. Will definitely be stopping here again! The spot was $26/ night. The campground isn't fancy, but it's got great pull through sites with 30/50 amp power. We parked on the far left corner & had the best clear view of an open field. Very pretty, small trees. We paid the discounted passport America price, you just find your spot first, park, then walk over to the front office. You fill out an envelope with cash or check & put it in the slot. We didn't see anyone at the front office either of the two times we have camped here & that's just our style. They do offer free WiFi which wasn't too bad, except for peak hours. We loved staying here! I don't know if there are showers or laundry, because we live in our Motorhome & didn't need that anyways.

If spaces were $40 a night I wouldn't be writing this review.

They have pull through and back in sites. The slabs are concrete but the road is gravel (we prefer paved roads). There's a communal sewer dump (not located in the RV Hookup area) that requires a lock code. Both codes are provided in the confirmation email once you book a site.

This place is one our kiddos would not stop talking about...especially because they have "tunnels" in almost every cabin! These tunnels are legit, too! They take you from the first floor to 2nd floor lofts, along a sturdy and architecturally sound structure that is well-built and carpeted for a clean path that leads to the 2nd floor and has lookout windows along the way. The tunnels are also lit. Wow, my kiddos were in for a big surprise when the owner said, "Enjoy it! Maybe you'll see a tunnel or two you can crawl through." We kind of thought he was joking in the beginning, and then we walked into the cabin. Wow! These are architecturally sound and so much fun for active kiddos! Aside from the tunnels, the granite kitchen counters and wood floors and nice amenities made this place somewhere we will stay again! Not shown is the bathroom with marble Shower in Juniper (that is handicap accessible), an upstairs loft with 2-double beds and downstairs bar eating area. It is absolutely lovely and clean! The Juniper and Mesquite cabins have a picturesque front porch that opens to the Canyon area and has views of aoudad sheep! Also, they have corn hole games and tic-tac-toe along with other fun games on property! Each unit comes with a grill or has access to one. I cannot recommend this location enough!

It's not much to look at and it took a long while for the tiny heater to make the room livable bit we survived the 19 degree night pretty well. The rooms are cheap and you get what you pay for. The place may seem a bit dicey, though it turned out to be safe enough and I'm glad we found it. All in all the place was better than a bigger chain we stayed with in Wichita Falls and was a lot lower in cost. Would we stay here again? Probably. That is if we ever had to come to Amarillo again, which I'd hope to never need to honestly. Last time I was through here I was 19 and it's not grown well in all those decades since.

The price was extremely affordable, clean rooms both smoking and non-smoking rooms available. Yes, it may be dated, but it offers a flat screen tv, microwave, minifridge, free WiFi and an extremely comfortable king size bed. Enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The ice machine and coffee were in the office, but very good coffee for sure. Will be staying again the next time we pass through.
