We had the most pleasant experience staying the night here at Walnut RV! We were exhausted from our road trip from California and was calling around trying to find a RV park to stay, it was already after hours so was worried we wouldn't find a place. Thankfully Misty answered my call and accommodated us for the last minute night's stay. She was really so sweet and very hospitable! First RV park we stayed at that offers complimentary breakfast! She also gave us some very delicious cowboy cookies! Will definitely come back on our next road trip!

Beware big dogs jumped fence after my dogs

Was probably nice in its day but seems pretty run down. Sites are pretty level dirt and gravel. Our View is of a ran down mobil home. No breakfast because someone had surgery but gave us two little personal pies. Wouldn't have stayed but made reservations 8 mo ago and paid upfront. Lady up front was very nice. The picnic table is wooden and seen their better days too but we had one almost no one else did. Only in public areas. If we had a camper by us their sewer hook up is right at our picnic table Didn't use the bathhouse so can't comment on it. It's an old block house building You do get 5 G here and there is a public laundry on site. Nothing to brag about accept nice person at office area. Beware of office steps (very unstable). No view almost no trees. I felt it was VERY overpriced for what it is but we are here and will try to make the best of it for one night. There was a Loves not too far away that would have been much nicer but probably louder. This place could be nice again with quite a bit of TLC and updates. Needed to come back on and add what happened last night. We were walking our two 9lb and 12lb dogs by our campsite and the trailer home across the street (see pictures) suddenly a very large black and white Great Dane looking dog jumped his fence and ran up on my husband and one of our dogs. My husband grabbed our dog and yelled loud and mean to get back. The dog did back off but it was a Very frightening situation. Dog owners beware. That house does have a beware of dogs sign on their front the home but their dog easily jumped the short broken down back yard fence. In picture I'm sitting in our truck. You can see how close it is to our campsite.

A day pass is $8.00 and is good till 10:00PM (you can leave and come back). They give you a map as well. You can drive the whole thing and see a lot from your car. There's also plenty of pull-offs for picture opportunities. For ones that like hiking, there's plenty of that there. I'm not big into hiking, and I also didn't pack to do so. Lol. There is cave you see from the road, and if you want you can do a short hike to it. I wasn't on planning really hiking anywhere but this was short enough. Easy to get up, going down you have to be a lil careful. Good place for pictures too. Camping ground are available too. Anyways, if you're in town visiting or never have been there, I definitely recommend it!

This is a beautiful state park and we're glad we seen it.

Our Cabin had a great view of the Slug Bug Ranch right outside our rear windows which was an added bonus. The staff was quite friendly & the manager even gave us a tour of one of the Chuckwagons for rent for our next stay. All in all we couldn't have been happier with our 2 night stay & I guarantee next time we find ourselves in Amarillo we will gladly book the Chuckwagon or the Cabins again!

(There was zero signage in the lot. Only exposed power wires). I was then subsequently illegally blocked into the parking lot by a gentleman who claimed to be the owner of "Big Texan RV Ranch" Andy. The individual refused to identify himself further and repeatedly demanded money from me in the form of cash. Andy then phoned for a worker from the park to block me into the spot. The worker from "Big Texan RV Ranch" then parked his truck on my front bumper damaging it. I had my wife and two kids in the RV at the time. The police were called and the individuals were told to leave by the police or face legal consequences. If I could give less than one star I would. Horrible place, nasty owner who likes to commit felonies. Stay far away from here! I am 100% DAV. The nice folks who checked us in and the spectacular location are worth much more than three stars. Additional pluses: the sites are mostly level and the grade is flatter than the state park. Negatives: we had to change sites to find working electricity and available water. Biggest issue: THERE CURRENTLY ARE NO BATHROOMS OR SHOWERS. The bathroom facility has burned to the ground, which I imagine has been awful for the owners. However, I wish this had been on their website and in the reservation confirmation when we booked our site a week ago. Our trailer does not have a bathroom or shower, so we likely would've changed travel plans if we had known. Overall, it's a fine campground (tents are here, too), feels remote but is near restaurants, and it's nice to be able to book online. I advise asking about facilities before booking, though.

Even with it being no frills, I really enjoyed this RV spot. It is right down the road from Palo Duro Entrance. Across the road is the Jeep Tours which was allowing hiking to get access to the canyon since the State Park was limiting visitors to Day passes due to COVID-19. In the evening at the RV park, we were able to walk down to the canyon area and had beautiful views. Absolutely gorgeous! All of the staff at the site was very nice. They kept the area clean and tidy and they are making many improvements to the site including mini-cabins which are really cute. I would stay again at this RV campsite.
