I have been doing Airbnb, but could not find a room on such a short notice. So, I always try to stay at a mom and pop type place. It was 11pm. I had been driving for 17 hours. Tired and just wanted a cheap place to sleep. Pulled into gas station and woman told me about this place. I rung the doorbell and was greeted by a tired guy who signed me in and gave me a bottle of water and...wait for it.... A KEY. YEA. A KEY. I was charged 50 bucks. Off season and I haggled a little and they came down to 45. 50 with tax. First impressions The bed is huge. Very nice firm bed. The decor. Well. Look at the pictures. Bathroom window no curtain and no privacy window. The one chair used was rickety. The couch, looked like it was missing legs on one end. But not sure. The desk was nice. TV, better than the one I am currently watching at a Comfort Inn. Bonanza has HBO if anyone cares. Wi-Fi. Did not use. Bathroom had plenty of hot water. The electric heater for the bathroom did not work though. 20 degrees out that night. But the heater for the room did work and worked well. Very quite place. Only six cars in the parking lot. The door to room did not close correctly. It locked but was not sealed against light. So was it worth the 50? Yes. Is it a five star?. Nope. I don't know if other rooms are like this one. But it did have a small refrig and microwave. The room was clean. I bring my own pillows because I don't trust hotels to change out linen. The sheets were clean but had yellow tint. Old sheets and pillow cases. The major problem I had was the smell. Whatever they clean with or spray the room with was strong. I had to grab my air purifier from truck. About 30 bucks cheaper than the two other places around. American Value wanted 100 bucks a night. Days Inn 80. So for 50 it was worth it. The photos were taken as I was leaving in the morning. Hope this helps.

Sir, I came to your motel after driving 11 plus hours to…read moreget from my home to Vega for a project I was to work on. Your prices are out of line, meaning too high, and I realize that you realize that. The part that really makes me upset is when I went to bed, that mattress was horrible. It felt like it had raised places in it and was very hard. I layed on it for about an hour, I found no comfortable position. I realized I could not, and would not be able to go to sleep on it. I challenge you to go to room 128 and lay in that bed like i did for an hour and you won't have any trouble understanding my feelings. $84 for that room, you got to be kidding me. You won't return any of my money. If you did I would be in shock. Far as I'm concerned you owe me something for that experience. Tired as I was from 11 hours of driving, and at 12:45am in the morning, I loaded my belongings and was going to try to go to Amarillo and find a room I could sleep in. I went by the Bonanza Motel and looked at a room and it stunk to high heaven. I thought there were only two motels in town, but as I was making my way to I-40 to head to Amarillo, God was watching out for me because there at the entrance to the highway was Days Inn. Thank you Lord because I really don't know what would have happened to me going on into Amarillo at that time of night. He answered my need, or i was just really lucky. I was beat, exhausted, felt horrible. They had sprayed something on the carpet in my room there and that was a negative, but the bed was sooo very comfortable and was a king size, not standard like yours. Even at that, with the smell and I-40 traffic, it took me a couple of hours to actually go to sleep. I just wanted you to know the hell I went thru because of a bed no one should sleep on. Thank you for listening. William A. Vincent WILLIAM VINCENT From: wmvincent6156@sbcglobal.net To: abvivega@gmail.com Sat, Aug 24 at 3:57 PM That was Wednesday evening of this week.
