    One queen bed

I absolutely love this place. I was somewhat hesitant about getting a room here, because I did not want it to be like a Motel 6 type of situation that has high traffic, and not much good cleaning by housekeeping. I was very pleasantly surprised. In fact, I extended my stay by one additional night (for a total of 3 nights). I work in healthcare, and there is a blizzard going on right now. The roads are treacherous, and I wanted to stay here in Amarillo where I work. After searching the typical travel sites for hotel reservations, I kept coming across MyPlace. I had seen it before down the road, but never gave it much thought. Hotels are hard to book right now because of the extensive out of town healthcare workers that are here to help out the community. The owner/manager Anna talked to me on the phone, and reserved a room for me at my request. She was kind, and did not even require a credit card number to hold my room which I thought was very considerate of her. When I arrived, the front desk lady was so very sweet and bubbly, had a wonderful personality. She was very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised that there were luggage valet carts that I could use to bring my belongings upstairs. The room is incredibly clean. It has no odor. This is my second night here, and I have one more. There is a wall unit for air conditioning and heating, and I have not been cold even one time, although it is anywhere from -11 to 12° outside in the blizzard. The restroom is impeccably clean, the bed is wonderfully comfortable, there is a nice TV, free Internet, and a two burner stove in my room with the full-size refrigerator. I even feel comfortable to walk barefoot on this carpet, because it does not make me feel dirty. The rate was very reasonable, and I could not have asked for a better room. I would not call it fancy by any means, but it is completely adequate for anyone's needs, who needs a place to stay that is clean, convenient, was superb customer service. Last night I had to call the front desk for a roll of toilet paper, and a nice gentleman was up at my door to deliver it in less than 90 seconds. When I was reading through the reviews, many people complained about the noise, and the walls being thin. I have not heard any other guests at this hotel at all. It has been incredibly quiet, and I have no complaints about anything whatsoever. The parking lot is full, so I know there are plenty of other guests. I suggest those people who complain about noise about people who actually work for a living having to get up at 6 AM to go to work, they need to bring a box fan or some sort of noisemaker like I do when I travel. It cuts down on every single little bump you might hear during the night. Thank you MyPlace for providing me a very nice place to stay while I am away from my home, so that I can get to my job during this blizzard. I will absolutely use your hotel again in the future and recommend it to others

Nailed it! Customer service via email was very responsive and helpful. Got to the hotel and was so pleasantly surprised. They even brewed me a fresh pot of decaf by request. The room was clean and sanitary feeling. Bed very comfortable. Full kitchen and my dog even loved the well groomed grass. I can't think of a nicer place to stay and the rates were quite reasonable too.

It's not a good picture but it's the only one I have haha

We stopped here on our road trip from Mississippi to the west coast and it exceeded our expectations. Through Expedia, it was around $75 a night but we just needed a bed. The room we were given was that of a high end hotel chain I've spent over $130 a night for. I am very pleased. It comes with nearly a full functioning kitchen and the staff was very helpful!

I have seen the "My Place" hotels around my area in Vegas but we were passing through Amarillo and needed to stop. After having some issues with some other places we decided to try them. So glad I did. I was actually shocked at the room. We had brought up extra pillows because normally a room will only give you 4 but was surprised to see they had a lot of pillows. 8 I believe. The beds had an extra blanket already on them at the bottom that was super soft. The beds were very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The bathroom had several towels and was super clean and the kitchen area even had a toaster. I was shocked to see a little Palmolive soap because that could come in so handy and I've never seen one at another hotel. The staff was super friendly. I actually had a small problem with a male guest who was staying there and because of it the lady working the desk at night actually watched over me to make sure I stayed safe. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going through this area and I will be looking for them next time I travel.

DISGUSTING!!! We are on a road trip, rented 2 different rooms. (I wish I would have taken photos of our other car group's room! They never even cleaned it, there was poop in the toilet!!, stove had food all over it, sink had cereal in it, smoke detector had a plastic shopping bag over it and it smelt of cigarettes before you even got in the door) Obviously they let the clerk know and she moved them to another room. We get to our room and it looks clean until we go to get into bed, these sheets and blankets are NOT washed! Absolutely disgusting!!! Someone else slept in thos bed and they didn't bother to change out the sheets! Stay FAR AWAY from this nasty MOTEL! Oh... and this place is supposed to be smoke free?? Yeah right.... the elevator smells of cigarette smoke and so does the lobby. Who is the only one around... the clerk. Put 2 and 2 together.... yeah so much for a non smoking hotel.

Starlight Canyon - Mesquite room hot tub (10/9/2022)

I am the single mom who brought her kids here to share the Mesquite room on October 9-10, 2022. This bed and breakfast is located in a somewhat remote area of Amarillo, Texas. The surrounding landscape is a bit reminiscent of Palo Duro Canyon - which is just a short drive away - but not in an extreme way that the Lone Star state park yields. The view from the hot tub at 7:30PM was amazing with a glorious display of sunset colors. Robes were provided behind the bathroom door. Near the pond on the old red, white, and blue amusement park ride chair, we found a walking stick. A friendly orange Tabby cat kept returning to our front door. My 8 and 9-year-old couldn't resist petting the stray feline. We weren't crazy about the continental breakfast which comprised of a cherry turnover, Yoplait yogurt, and Tropicana apple juice so we'll pass on that if we don't stay on a morning when they offer a hot meal. Just a couple of other cons: I leave to pick up pizza in town and someone takes my spot in front of our door. Lol. Also, my stupid Sprint/T-mobile coverage was terrible here. The other accomodations definitely overrode the somewhat lacking Monday morning breakfast: quiet neighborhood, calm weather, microwave, mini fridge, iron & board, lots of programs on the TV, free Wi-Fi, walk-in shower, and private gated area with code access.

We stayed in the Pinion. The positives. It's remote and really close to Palo Duro Canyon (18 minutes) That was nice. It's about 12 minutes from the Big Texan. It's in a pretty setting. The bed was comfy. We stay at B&B's because there is a level of expectation where hospitality takes over and you feel like you were being treated like royalty. This is not that place. It almost felt like our stay was a little bit of an inconvenience. The room is small and very dated, but covered in wood plank and not very clean. A lot of dust. This particular room did not have a shower and only a bath tub with the hot water trickles out. I'm not joking. It took about 30 minutes to fill the bathtub. Tip 1. Make sure to ask if the room you are booking has a shower if you're needing a shower for medical reasons or handicap accessibility. According to one of the reviews, and in their pictures, there appeared to be a nice shower in the mesquite, but we weren't given the chance to stay there. Once you get in the room, you're given two towels for the bath and two towels for the hot tub. I uncovered the hot tub to see that the water was very cloudy and it wasn't a result of the bubbles. So I put the cover right back on. They don't give you anything with respect to toiletries when it comes to soap or shampoo or lotions or bath bomb. So it really does feel like you're not being pampered. Bed And Breakfast should always feel like you're being pampered. And inside the room, you're not giving any type of bottled water, filtered water and so you rely on the bathroom sink in the bathroom tub. Which I thought was really bad. The outside of the room was covered in Pineneedles on the walkway, and so we tracked some into a room. When we were trying to get into the door, some even to get into the wheels of our suitcase. It was kind of annoying. The area is just really dated and not well kept. However, that does give it a very rustic feel and so if you're into that kind of thing that it may suit your fancy. It does have a really cute cat that keeps you company in the random deer that you will see from time to time. Overall, I'm sure it meets the needs of a specific clientele that would enjoy that atmosphere but when I go to a bed-and-breakfast, I consider myself to be high maintenance. So they certainly could meet the need a specific individuals however, it's not a place that I would really return to .

Really unfortunate. None of us slept well. When we woke and quickly left in the morning, the hallway was at least 10 degrees cooler than our room. Honestly, don't sell the room (or at least discount it) if it's that bad and you know it! No continental or provided breakfast either. You can buy breakfast from a "cafe". For over $200 for one night. We could have stayed anywhere else, we should have, but we didn't know the room condition until we had all our things in the room and it was 11:00 at night already.
