I'm only giving two stars because of the state of the room, unprofessional staff, and falsely charging my credit card for smoking when no one smoked in our room. We ended a 14 hour travel day and this was the 5th and last hotel on our trip. We were there less than 10 hours. It was noisy, the room was ok but the ice maker was the loaded I've ever heard plus the doors leading outside slammed shut so hard the room doors shook. No one was at the desk when we went to check out and we couldn't wait since we needed to get back on the road to our final destination- home. Imagine my surprise when I reviewed my credit card statement and there was a $300 charge on it. There were no calls or emails or any notification from the hotel. I called and was told that "housekeeping" said they found ashes and buds in the room- which is impossible. Either housekeeping got the wrong room or the hotel is scamming us with a charge. I've escalated this up through Booking and our credit card. We stay in hotels, for travel, almost 15 to 20 times a year. We've never had this kind of problem. read more

As we were driving back to California from Louisiana, I chose this place based on the reviews. Good choice! There's a lot of restaurants nearby and even a movie theater. If you're in need of a fridge, the room has a full size one and ice maker. No pots or pans or utensils, but there's a microwave, stove and coffee maker. Plenty of storage space and even a laundry basket if you need to use the guest laundromat downstairs. Overall very clean for a motel, and I prepaid my room and feel it's an excellent bargain. read more

Perfect location near, but not at the freeway. I've been staying in too many hotels the past few months and sometimes you just can't tell if you're going to hear Jake Brakes from the semis all night. This My Place was a bit from the freeway and was quiet. The room was simple, and just what we needed. It has a full kitchen, and while we didn't use it to its full abilities, we appreciated having the fridge for storing our stuff we'd brought in a cooler on our cross country trip. The beds were comfortable and we slept well after a marathon day of driving 16 hours. The front desk person was very nice and informative upon check in. Next time we get a chance we're staying at this property and hope to get to try some other My Place locations. My husband joined their frequent stay club in anticipation of future stays! read more

We stopped here on our road trip from Mississippi to the west coast and it exceeded our expectations. Through Expedia, it was around $75 a night but we just needed a bed. The room we were given was that of a high end hotel chain I've spent over $130 a night for. I am very pleased. I absolutely love this place. I was somewhat hesitant about getting a room here, because I did not want it to be like a Motel 6 type of situation that has high traffic, and not much good cleaning by housekeeping. I was very pleasantly surprised. In fact, I extended my stay by one additional night (for a total of 3 nights). I work in healthcare, and there is a blizzard going on right now. The roads are treacherous, and I wanted to stay here in Amarillo where I work. After searching the typical travel sites for hotel reservations, I kept coming across MyPlace. I had seen it before down the road, but never gave it much thought. Hotels are hard to book right now because of the extensive out of town healthcare workers that are here to help out the community. The owner/manager Anna talked to me on the phone, and reserved a room for me at my request. She was kind, and did not even require a credit card number to hold my room which I thought was very considerate of her. When I arrived, the front desk lady was so very sweet and bubbly, had a wonderful personality. She was very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised that there were luggage valet carts that I could use to bring my belongings upstairs. The room is incredibly clean. It has no odor. This is my second night here, and I have one more. There is a wall unit for air conditioning and heating, and I have not been cold even one time, although it is anywhere from -11 to 12° outside in the blizzard. The restroom is impeccably clean, the bed is wonderfully comfortable, there is a nice TV, free Internet, and a two burner stove in my room with the full-size refrigerator. I even feel comfortable to walk barefoot on this carpet, because it does not make me feel dirty. The rate was very reasonable, and I could not have asked for a better room. I would not call it fancy by any means, but it is completely adequate for anyone's needs, who needs a place to stay that is clean, convenient, was superb customer service. Last night I had to call the front desk for a roll of toilet paper, and a nice gentleman was up at my door to deliver it in less than 90 seconds. When I was reading through the reviews, many people complained about the noise, and the walls being thin. I have not heard any other guests at this hotel at all. It has been incredibly quiet, and I have no complaints about anything whatsoever. The parking lot is full, so I know there are plenty of other guests. I suggest those people who complain about noise about people who actually work for a living having to get up at 6 AM to go to work, they need to bring a box fan or some sort of noisemaker like I do when I travel. It cuts down on every single little bump you might hear during the night. Thank you MyPlace for providing me a very nice place to stay while I am away from my home, so that I can get to my job during this blizzard. Nailed it! Customer service via email was very responsive and helpful. Got to the hotel and was so pleasantly surprised. They even brewed me a fresh pot of decaf by request. The room was clean and sanitary feeling. Bed very comfortable. Full kitchen and my dog even loved the well groomed grass. I have seen the "My Place" hotels around my area in Vegas but we were passing through Amarillo and needed to stop. After having some issues with some other places we decided to try them. So glad I did. I was actually shocked at the room. We had brought up extra pillows because normally a room will only give you 4 but was surprised to see they had a lot of pillows. 8 I believe. The beds had an extra blanket already on them at the bottom that was super soft. The beds were very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The bathroom had several towels and was super clean and the kitchen area even had a toaster. I was shocked to see a little Palmolive soap because that could come in so handy and I've never seen one at another hotel. The staff was super friendly. I actually had a small problem with a male guest who was staying there and because of it the lady working the desk at night actually watched over me to make sure I stayed safe. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going through this area and I will be looking for them next time I travel. read more

DISGUSTING!!! We are on a road trip, rented 2 different rooms. (I wish I would have taken photos of our other car group's room! They never even cleaned it, there was poop in the toilet!!, stove had food all over it, sink had cereal in it, smoke detector had a plastic shopping bag over it and it smelt of cigarettes before you even got in the door) Obviously they let the clerk know and she moved them to another room. We get to our room and it looks clean until we go to get into bed, these sheets and blankets are NOT washed! Absolutely disgusting!!! Someone else slept in thos bed and they didn't bother to change out the sheets! Stay FAR AWAY from this nasty MOTEL! Oh... and this place is supposed to be smoke free?? Yeah right.... the elevator smells of cigarette smoke and so does the lobby. Who is the only one around... the clerk. Put 2 and 2 together.... yeah so much for a non smoking hotel. read more

I had basically been driving all night and after having had a terrible experience that had me leaving before I even unpacked I just wanted a place that was clean and off the highway so I could get some shut eye before heading back out on the road. Parked in the driveway and saw that there were a lot of cars which was a good sign. The grounds were so clean that it seemed brand new. Check-in was pretty easy and the clerk could tell I was pretty out of it so he let me get to the room real quick. The bed was a full, I think; honestly I was so tired I'm not sure but I do remember thinking the bed was small. I set my alarm for 5 hours and just crashed. The next morning I saw that they had a shower only set-up, never saw a hotel with a half-bathroom set up. Interesting, saves space I guess. A good place to stop in to get some winks if you're going down I-40. read more

Hotel staff: Very friendly, good sense of humor, just overall a pleasant experience with staff. Room: Very clean, ample room for us except the bed was a queen (which is the only size bed they have). Used to sleeping on a king size bed so it's just preference. I am a picky person when it comes to the cleanliness of tubs/showers in hotels, this one passed with flying colors. Area is good. It was nice that there were several choices on places to eat. Most within walking distance, again, nice. The only ding I would give is that the breakfast option they had was that you buy your breakfast rather than the usual free continental breakfast. But that may be a hold-over from Covid restrictions, who knows? read more

My husband and I have stayed here twice while going back and forth from Arlington Texas to California. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean and the bed is so comfortable! I have gotten the best night sleep both times we have stayed here! This second time around we had our dog and our cat and weren't sure if we could stay here with them, but the answer was yes! Your children stay for free!!! I will always stay here when traveling through! If you are traveling with trailers, there is a parking lot across the street. It's open and easy to maneuver around in. Checkin: Susan was so pleasant and professional. I'd previously spoken with her on the phone and she was equally impressive. She recommended the best steakhouse, and she was right! Parking: ample and easy parking. Room: we loved the room! Very clean, good air smell, comfy beds, and the big fridge was convenient in making our own ice. I do wish the air conditioner was able to keep us a bit cooler at night, but this reasonably quiet hotel allowed us all a good night's sleep. Pet friendly: our dog had an excellent experience here too! Great grassy areas to meander around and do business. We loved that we were allowed to leave her safely in her kennel in the room while we had an amazing meal next door. Checkout: quick and friendly checkout process. I did wish that the coffee had not ran out, as I'd love to have had a second cup and husband would have liked a first. Overall: we would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more

Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 34 years of life. The general manager Sherry is extremely unprofessional. I had such a bad experience that I was given half off 2 nights as an apology for their "bad behavior" I heard Sherry and another manager talking bad about my family in the back office while I was waiting for help at the front desk. They were saying I owed money even though I had all the transactions on my bank account and was also overcharged I showed them and said I was gonna have to dispute them and said I was not going to keep letting them charge my card. I ended up walking out and came back in to ask for the corporate number and heard them saying things like "they're probably living out of hotels" and what's she gonna dispute she owes us money. "She's just trying to get a free stay" All while spying on my mom and sisters through the window getting into their lyft. First of all even if we were "living out of hotels" what's it to you?! I am a PAYING customer. My family and I are traveling across the country from Las Vegas to Indiana where we bought a house and my moms car broke down while we were in Texas and one night turned into a week stay and it's been the worst experience. Sherry is extremely lucky I have class unlike her because she deserves a slap in the face for running her mouth so much. We checked out today and I heard her saying to someone on the phone once again, "They're probably gonna trash the room" when we have stayed in two rooms since we've been here and never left them a mess! Sherry needs to be fired. She should never be able to run a hotel or any place that requires having respect for paying customers. read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing a chain hotel in Amarillo of all places! But this place is super clean and the staff is overwhelmingly nice. The hot breakfast was the typical buffet fare but I was asked if I needed anything by a lady working there. The staff was very attentive. I stayed 2 nights and the breakfast buffet was just as hot and fresh at 9am as at 7am. My request for extra towels, phoned in to housekeeping was addressed immediately. Also, I was traveling with my adult daughter who was constantly working (cell,email) so I paid $20 more per night than the other chain hotels near by. I think this might be the reason there were only adult guests. I was in town for my brother's surgery at the nearby hospital so the calm, quiet atmosphere was really appreciated. I'm taking off a star because the shower leaked through an unsealed crack. read more

This hotel is great! Especially for the price and it's dog friendly! Very last minute my family decided to stop for the night on our road trip due to cranky kids. After our last hotel stay (not my place) I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised walking in. The room was spacious, clean and had a kitchenette! I had the best night sleep I've had in a hotel, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. I was going to have my husband run and grab eggs so I could make breakfast but we couldn't find any pans. Upon checking out I noticed some in the convenience store area that appeared to be for rent? I'm not sure, just something to note if you're planning on using the kitchenette, you may need to bring your own cookware. Other than that, everything was great, the staff and other guest were so friendly and the coffee in the room and lobby was very good! read more

I stayed here for two weeks when I was moving across the country, and was very impressed! From the outside appearance it looks like a budget brand hotel, but the experience inside is five star. The beds are just like the Westin Heavenly Bed when it comes to comfort, very comfortable pillow top providing a restful nights sleep. The kitchens are nice, rooms are new and very clean. The service is awesome. The only concern is late night food deliveries at 3 am to the steakhouse next door, so ask for a room facing the front. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and good selections. The prices are fair. They are equally fair when quoting weekly or monthly rates. Great stop in Amarillo. We stopped in with our 2 dogs coming back from the mountains. The staff was very friendly. The room was nice and cool. Foot kitchenette and ice maker. My stay was nice and the employees try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I really like the kitchenette in the room. It's convenient to make food vs eating out. Just bring some pots and pans with you or purchase what you need from the front desk. I'm unsure of the pricing but it's there if you need it. I usually stay at My Place when visiting Amarillo but after the 3RD TiME of dirty sheets, I will never book My Place again. The first problem started with the sheets smelled like perfume, I booked the two bed so at first I thought maybe it's the detergent they use but NO because only one bed smelled and the other didn't. A week and a half ago I found pubic hairs in the sheets! I spoke to the manager and they said it could be dog hair. Really?! Would that make it okay! A week later I thought I would give them one more chance... again pubic hairs. They said sometimes they get embedded. I have photos, they were not embedded the rooms are just not being cleaned properly. read more

I wanted to like this place because the prices for the rooms were reasonable and the location was great, however, our toilet wasn't working and the room had a vomit smell to it. I also did overhear someone say their room smelled like stinky feet. The employees really tried to help and we couldn't switch rooms since they were booked. I do appreciate the general manager calling and apologizing. I hope they can fix these issues and concerns. read more

We came across My Place through yelp and after reading reviews, we took a chance and booked a room. One reason- it was listed as pet friendly and we were traveling with our dog so we needed a pet friendly place. Upon our arrival, the outside of the hotel looked nice. Freshly painted and looked new and the area wasn't bad at all. When we walked into the lobby, it looked well kept and Abby who checked us in was wonderful. There is a little market area to shop for some necessities so the pictures that were posted to review are true. After we checked in, we gathered our things and went to see our room. Just like the pictures that were already posted, our room matched that. We were very pleased with the size of the room and the mini kitchen was a bonus. The room was clean and didn't smell. The bathroom looked clean as well. The beds were super comfy and so were the pillows. We were also able to open the window which was nice to get the cool fresh breeze! The hotel is close to I-40 but you couldn't hear it which made for a pleasant sleep. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again! read more

I love staying in this hotel! The room is always nice, clean, and quiet. The staff is wonderful to work with and always accommodates my requests. The Manager is wonderful and takes pride in this hotel to keep it very nice. I use to stay next door at the Springhill Suites, but I have completely converted all of my panhandle area stays to this hotel. They by far have the most comfortable bed I have ever found at a hotel! They are "Pet Friendly" and don't gouge you on pet fees. The room was clean and comfortable, (2) Queen beds that are VERY comfortable with plenty of pillows, kitchenette is more than adequate, good WiFi....when in this area again we will definitely be staying here again !!! read more

We enjoyed our recent stay at MyPlace. There was a little stove, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, a sink with garbage disposal, and a full-size refrigerator/freezer with an ice maker. I don't blame them for not furnishing pots, pans, plates, or utensils (washing all those everyday would be too much), so next time we visit, we'll bring our own. They did have a big roll of paper towels, though, and there was even a full-sized ironing board with an iron. There was also a hair dryer. We were only there for 2 nights, but I can see this as being a great place for an extended stay. It was pretty quiet, too. The only noises we heard were people talking right outside our door in the hall, and from the adjoining room. I'll ask for a room at the end of the hall, next time. read more

Do not hesitate to stay here! I had never heard of this chain and was nervous. It was SO CLEAN. The lady at the front desk was so nice and helpful. They have cameras in the parking lot so we felt better about having to leave all our camping supplies in the bed of the truck. My husband, my ESA dog, and I stayed at this hotel while on the long trek out from TN to CA. It was a great experience! Super friendly staff, fair price and easy booking, check-in, and check-out. We were honestly a little nervous because we had never heard of this hotel chain before finding it on a hotel booking site. The reviews were good, so we took a chance -- and we are glad we did! The room was comfortable and very clean. We used the microwave to heat up food from a local grocery store. It was nice to have a microwave/table in the room because we were able to save money and relax. Also, my husband needed to print off some documents, and the lady at the front desk (Carly?) was incredibly helpful in assisting my husband.
