We stayed for 2 nights in Cabin #C4 & we fell in love with the place immediately. The cabins i believe are relatively new & they have full kitchens, full size refrigerators, 2 TV's, a small loft for the kids, large decks & a pull out sofa sleeper as well as a free shuttle service to the Big Texan Steakhouse on the hour starting at 4pm. Our Cabin had a great view of the Slug Bug Ranch right outside our rear windows which was an added bonus. The staff was quite friendly & the manager even gave us a tour of one of the Chuckwagons for rent for our next stay. All in all we couldn't have been happier with our 2 night stay & I guarantee next time we find ourselves in Amarillo we will gladly book the Chuckwagon or the Cabins again! read more

By far the worst RV park I have ever been to! Our RV was overheating so we decided to park in the vacant lot across the street from the park to allow the engine/transmission to cool. (There was zero signage in the lot. Only exposed power wires). I was then subsequently illegally blocked into the parking lot by a gentleman who claimed to be the owner of "Big Texan RV Ranch" Andy. The individual refused to identify himself further and repeatedly demanded money from me in the form of cash. Andy then phoned for a worker from the park to block me into the spot. The worker from "Big Texan RV Ranch" then parked his truck on my front bumper damaging it. I had my wife and two kids in the RV at the time. The police were called and the individuals were told to leave by the police or face legal consequences. If I could give less than one star I would. Horrible place, nasty owner who likes to commit felonies. Stay far away from here! I am 100% DAV. This RV park is full of gravel and a pool half full. When the winds kick up, so does the dirt. We stayed in space 205 which was on cement. It's also in the "newer" section which has no cable. All advertisements say this park has CABLE. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they said they would notify the manager because we were not the first to bring this up because their website was old and needed to be updated. We paid $75 per night which was a hefty sum for the accommodations at this RV park. We returned a short time later that day and asked to be credited the additional $10 per day. The lady at the desk said she would take it up with the manager. As you can probably guess, no credit was issued and no follow-up response even though they had our phone number and email. As you know most RV parks' WiFi can be spotty and it makes streaming movies difficult, so the idea of cable was a big selling point. read more

We stayed two nights here as we are on our way back to Arizona and this was a convenient stop in Amarillo. We paid $57 a night with a good Sam discount. It's a fun place, very western themed and of course the restaurant is right down the road, so you have to take the time to go there. They do have a free shuttle starting at 4 PM that goes back-and-forth to the restaurant, but we ended up doing a late lunch and just drove ourselves down there. All of the utilities were great, we were on a paved concrete pad, surrounded by gravel, nice level sites and good water pressure. There is an indoor pool as well as an outside patio alongside it. Plenty of stuff for the kids to do, including a playground for the smaller ones. They also had cabins and tiny homes you could rent as well that looked very well kept. They do have some longer-term sites that are covered and I believe she said those were $800 a month with paying utilities separately. They do have bagels and coffee every morning in the gift shop and that seem to be a popular place! They do sell propane as well and we were able to fill up on our way out If you know that you are going to be staying here, they had a mobile wash service that we used. I did a separate review for him.L and M mobile services- he is allowed to wash your rig in the park and you can text him to set up a time to get it done. He charges five dollars a linear foot. He did a great job. Also, one of the campers near to us told us about an RV museum that's maybe 15 minutes away if you're interested in something like that I also did a separate review for that. It's called Sisemore RV museum. All the staff members we interacted with were very friendly, the place kept super clean, and it was fairly quiet at night read more

I made reservation at a specified cabin, twice. Got there and they gave us a different #cabin with an excuse why one reservation didn't notate the correct #. When we got in the cabin, the door handle was about to fall off, and the door chain was broken, really for $295 per night? That's as far as I know now, tomorrow could be a different outcome. They gave is a discount nevertheless. After barging in on the guy in the original cabin, not sure I want to reserve it on our return visit....sigh. read more

We bit the hype. The staff was friendly. Site was ok but close to each other. The sewer outlet too high. We were across from a nice strip of grass for the dogs. They shove the dog rules down your throat. One rule is no dog pens. I saw at least 5 dog pens at sites. If your gonna have rules for force them. Stayed 3 nights which was 2 nights too long. Definitely good for a one night stay which there was a lot doing that. read more

I've stopped here a few times when driving by, and it's hard not to stop in for a good meal. Service is always great--friendly and helpful staff every time. They've got a nice variety of steaks, and my personal favorite is the ribeye, which is just perfect. The sides are amazing too, definitely worth trying. Really cool tiny cabins that accommodate up to 6 people. They have covered wagons to rent as well. They have an indoor pool that is 9' deep and a large inflatable blob outside that the kids spent hours of their day jumping on. Close proximity to the highway and local attractions. There are comfortable common areas, some with large oak trees, really comfortable rocking chairs and hammocks. We will definitely visit again if passing through town. read more

We stayed at a cabin in June, 2024 and it was wonderful. Clean and well maintained. The grounds and pool were nice. This year we stayed again and were disappointed. The cabins were clean but you can tell they aren't getting the maintenance they need. Our pull out sofa was partially broken and the linens provided were not very nice. The pool was okay but apparently it was a groping location for any teens staying at the location. I don't think making out, groping and vaping in the pool area is necessary and should be discouraged. Overall not a good stay this time. We probably won't be back. read more

I am writing my review based on our experiences from tent camping. AMAZING! Each time we've stayed here, we've utilized the tent spaces and have not been disappointed. The restrooms are clean, the pool and hot tub are fun (you need wrist bands for them and check the times on when they're opened), and plenty of shade under the tree! Our only problem with tent camping is the wind! Be prepared for some windy and rainy evenings sometimes, it can get a little rough in the tent. But if you can sleep through that, you're golden! Also, as you can imagine in Texas it's get HOT! That's when the pool really helps in cooling off and relaxing. We've taken the free limo ride to the Big Texan Steakhouse, enjoyed a meal together. Side note: The fudge there is fantastic! It does take a while to receive your food, just a word to the wise if you're in a hurry. But it really is so much fun to get the limo rides. This is always our stopping point for our trips to Colorado and will continue to be! read more

We stayed here on the first night of our road trip and last night on our way home. The front staff were very friendly and the guys that helped us to our spot were as well. We had a little issue with our water hose and they helped us get it fixed. The pool area was also nice and the kids enjoyed it. They also have a gift shop in the front lobby as well. We had dinner delivered from Big Texan Steakhouse for free on our first night. The food was good. They even offer a free limo ride to the restaurant if you wanted. The cabin itself is 5 stars. Sleeps 6 comfortably, full size kitchen appliances, water pressure is great and good running hot water. Was cute, relaxing, and clean. The reason I knocked off a star was due to the check in process. We arrived after the office closed and there was nobody to help or no number to call. We used a third party for our reservation so we didn't know what cabin we were in, code to get in. Everything is through an automated service by text and it has serious flaws. It took us 30 mins to find help and finally get our codes, but later realized no WiFi or pool code was sent or instructions for check out. I think this is a new service and they're working on it so it should improve. Other than these technicalities the place was great. Would highly recommend, just make sure you get your codes . read more

In the time of Covid, it's hard to give a place a solid review, especially when you can't experience it all. We were in a tight spot coming back on our trip. I had a reservation here for a night and needed it bumped up an extra day. Melody at the main desk hooked us up and for that I am very grateful. They do after-hours check in via a card left for you at the front door. The RV lot is a lot like many others around here. Just a big lot with hookups for your RV. I can't say it was any better or worse than any other. The big thing I enjoyed was that we got steak delivered to our RV from the Big Texan Ranch. It was wicked cheap and very good! Is Texas hospitality nickle and diming you? We were on a cross country road trip with a small travel trailer and wanted to splurge and get a cabin. There was an issue with the code sent in the email, which took about 30 minutes to resolve. They have coffee makers in the room but don't provide any coffee. Even your generic hotel rooms provide coffee! Check out is 11am but they stop serving coffee in the main office at 9:30am. Lol. What a joke. Three well lit dog parks to choose from and an awesome little store. We called for a limo ride to the Big Texan Steak House and we're immediately taken by a nice black limo to dinner. Staying here right now. The accommodations are fairly nice, but we have the last cabin by the road and the RV signal doesn't reach us. It makes it difficult to, you know, use your laptop to plan things. I spoke to the office and asked for a different unit, but they didn't have any more available. They also refused to give us any kind of a discount. They basically said, "Too bad, so sad." I would have left to go somewhere else, but it was too much of a hassle to repack everything and find another place late in the afternoon after a long drive. I realize that this is hardly the biggest problem in the world, but I feel like they should at least give us what they advertise and what I paid for. Very, very disappointing. We stayed at the Big Texan RV Ranch in site P14. It was a nice place that was very spread out and kinda felt like it was it's own neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. I gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1 is that it seems to not be in the best neighborhood. 2 is that they have a playground that looks very big and sturdy, yet kids can only play on it if they're less than 48 inches tall and 60 pounds. I have a kindergartner who is 49 inches so it was a bummer for him even he couldn't play on it. read more

We are on a cross country trip from California to Arkansas. We boondocked three nights and picked this place for the 4th night to hook up, dump tanks and refill water. This place was amazing. They called us the day of check in to find out arrival time and told us what exit to take, not the GPS directions. When we pulled in we were met by a nice gentleman showing us where to check in and then he had us follow his golf cart to our location. The park was immaculate. Sites were wide giving space between rigs. They told us of all their amenities but we didn't have time to enjoy them. We loved that the park was large enough each street had what I would call an alley allowing it to be a pull thru location. The price was incredible. We've paid nearly that just to dump in some cities. We want to return someday and just stay for awhile. read more

Tourist trap at its best! All the reviews, go to go....great service, great steak! Guess I went to the wrong place! No wait, but lines when we left, got there 5:45, left about an hour later. We were sat right away, in the middle of a table for 20 that was almost empty. Husband had to squeeze behind 12 people at the next table to get to his seat. Those people were constantly getting drink refills, extra rolls... there was a server in that little space all the time! Anything he got was handed to me to pass! We took the limo from the RV Ranch. And the driver explained what to expect and how the restaurant was laid out, nice touch. He has me looking forward to a 3 piece country band ...nope, nowhere to be seen? Then the food. Rolls and butter yummy, but I had been saving up mentally for this great steak.... ordered the Caesar salad, not sure what the dressing was, maybe a poetic justice form of Caesar, but way too much, swimming in it! Nowhere did it say, nor did the waitress tell us that the steaks were heavily, heavily pepper coated! I ordered a small sirloin, medium rare, closer to rare than medium.... and a baked potato. Potato was good, there were chives in the sour cream, again no warning, I was fine with it but my daughter would have broken out in hives had she eaten it(no she was not with us..) steak was dry, there was no nice meat juice anywhere, tasted like black pepper, the searing was closer to burnt than seared.... husband will have it for lunch! His prime rib was reportedly good, he had the Caesar also, felt the same way. The waitress, was inattentive,uninterested and not about to share any info if there was any she knew. I asked about some of the beers, she couldn't steer me towards one and hand no suggestions. I got the feeling they go extra pay to get you out of there ASAP. The park is a mix of long term residents and a section of sites for the short term RVers. Our site was pull through, gravel and just long enough for our rig and tow vehicle. The park is an easy on and off of I-40 and good for visiting the area or for an overnight stop. We did not check out the amenities, but can confirm that the wifi worked reasonably well. We stayed here for 1 night, arriving about 8pm, and left at 8 the next morning My wife and I are retirees, and have a small teardrop trailer. At night, we set up a small 3'x 3' potty room with a porta potti in it, next to our trailer, for convenience in the middle of the night. As soon as we set this up, a very rude couple who are apparently employees pulled up in a golf cart to inform us "tents" are not allowed on our spot. I explained this is not a tent, just a privacy potti room. They gave us the choice to take it down, or leave, with no refund. What fantastic hospitality! And their restroom was disgusting! A toilet stall had an out of order sign, but had obviously overflowed, and the floor was disgusting, in the whole bathroom from this. They just hung up a sign, and did not clean the floor!! And the only urinal was out of order. Yet we were not allowed to use our own, CLEAN potti room. Because of these two employees, we will never stay here again, and would not recommend this park to anyone. I will be reviewing this dump on YouTube and other social media. read more

This is home to many full-time RVers. The facility is well maintained. The staff is helpful and polite. There are free shuttles to a famous local restaurant. It proudly presents what outsiders think of when they think "Texas." They honor Good Sam and military discounts. It's close to I-40 and numerous places for truck and auto services. On the other hand, its over-the-air TV and WIFI-less except for the main office. Frankly, working cable and available WIFI is a nicety in most RV parks today. It's interesting we've given up on these things we'd expect in any home today. They are in close proximity to an airport, train tracks and Interstate 40. For some reason, I never really noticed how noisy the place is. It was just background. I slept well there. read more
