Her response was NEVER, again friend asked will it ever open and her response was NOPE. I will never stay there again. Honestly, we went in and out a lot and not once did we see her smile in the 2 days of staying there. It would probably be in your best interest for your hotel by getting rid of her. I didn't catch her name because she didn't have a badge on. She was working the desk on Monday the 23rd of March at 4:00 in the afternoon. I could give a description of her but maybe you can figure out who she was by the date and time. Also, if you advertise a bar it should be open. Ridiculous!!!! There were 2 tour buses when we arrived and it looked like we just missed the crowd at check-in. The front desk folks were an epitome of Texas hospitality. Friendly, laid back and the ladies just made us feel so welcome. We were given 3 drink coupons each for kickback hour. Our 2 queen room on the 2nd floor didn't have much of a view but it was homey and quiet. Kickback hour was busy but staff were surprisingly very accommodating. Their margaritas will give you a buzz. They have hot food items, soup and a salad for the complimentary light dinner. For those that have not stayed at a Drury Inn before, the kickback hour is similar to Embassy Suites' evening reception, but WAY better. We slept surprisingly well, considering the hotel's proximity to the highway. We had no problems with the ac either. Breakfast was better than your typical hotel breakfast with a bunch of options. We did not get to use the other facilities because we had to head out early. This was our first time staying at a Drury property. I'm normally a Hilton and Marriott girl but I'll definitely choose Drury if there is one available in my future destinations. We also appreciate the military discount they offer. This…read moreproperty located in Amarillo has fallen way out of standard with what anyone would expect from Hilton. First was the room. It was in need of some renovation from someone who actually knows what they are doing. The bathroom was in need of repairs. The pillows on the bed were not standard size pillows... they were accent pillows, trying to sleep was difficult. I had inquired about regular pillows but was told they had none. The hotel has a coin laundry. We had laundry to do. We asked the front desk that evening for laundry soap. They stated that they had it with the other sundries. When I went to look, there was none. When I asked the front desk, they stated that if it was out that they did not have anymore for sale. The next day, I asked a different front desk staff about the laundry soap and they stated the same thing in regard to it being out with the other sundries. When I stated that there was none, they went to the back office and found some... Moral of story here was the initial staff member couldn't be bothered to look in the back after running out... poor customer service. The laundry room takes quarters. All I had was a $20 bill. The front desk told me that they could not break a $20 for change. They only had quarters in the drawer. I had a friend traveling with me who had a $5 and the desk was able to give me $5 in quarters since the machines take $1.25 for each load of wash or each dryer. Since when does a front desk not have change for a $20 bill? Went to the laundry room, ceiling lights had dead roaches in them.... The front entrance ceiling, ceiling lamps, air vents all had a large amount of dust on them. They had not been cleaned in years. The first indication of this was my allergies and nose. We went to the bar that evening. The entire staff was very pushy about going to the bar and having a drink. We would find out why.... Bartender asked each of us if we wanted a single or double shot, we both said single. The bartender proceeded to give us doubles without us being aware of it. Then proceeded to charge us for it. That's not how that works.... If I say single and you want to give me a double that's on you and you're not charging me... The food was ok, the breakfast was ok at best. Food was not hot and the cook did not seam to know what they were doing. I called Hilton about this property and filled a complaint... don't stay here...

No one was at the desk when we went to check out and we couldn't wait since we needed to get back on the road to our final destination- home. Imagine my surprise when I reviewed my credit card statement and there was a $300 charge on it. There were no calls or emails or any notification from the hotel. I called and was told that "housekeeping" said they found ashes and buds in the room- which is impossible. Either housekeeping got the wrong room or the hotel is scamming us with a charge. I've escalated this up through Booking and our credit card. We stay in hotels, for travel, almost 15 to 20 times a year. We've never had this kind of problem.

After a long day of hiking my partner and I returned to the hotel to find that our room had not been cleaned or addressed. When calling the front desk we spoke with "Wookie" (Not sure if this is his real name or some kind of a joke but that is what his nametag said). Mr. "Wookie" was an absolute jerk to speak to. He started by saying the cleaning people had all gone home and that he wasn't going to do anything about the room that "room cleaning isn't included in the room rate" (yes this is quoted). I asked to speak with his manager and he said his name was Kevin and hung up the phone on me. I went down to the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms, he said he wouldn't do that, he also said his manager was out sick (Kevin) and his other manager had worked in the morning and he wasn't going to bother her with something petty like a guest room not being cleaned. We asked him for clean linens so we could make our own bed he provided them by dropping them off and walking away. Never offering to help or be of assistance in any way.
