I had the worst stay of my whole trip here. The walls are so paper thin I got zero sleep. I heard someone in the room next to mine all night long. Before that it was howling like coyotes or something. Why are the walls so thin!! I have went to hotels going from Al to Las Vegas to Mississippi to Florida and in between never have I had a worst stay . This is truly a half way point to most places though. I'm writing this review at 1:26 am in the morn cause I got no sleep. Hopefully my husband got some. He's snoring away and could sleep through almost anything. Guess I get to sleep in the car. We have stayed here twice and it will always be on the list if we have to come through Texas on the road again. Staff is friendly - and yes- pets are allowed with an additional fee. The breakfast in the morning used to be free , but the second time we came it was $8. Well worth it ! As it is delicious and consistent. Clean rooms , a beautiful shower and in a safe location. No microwave in rooms or on floor- need to go to front desk. No hot water for tea, yet there were lots of teabags to choose from. Have to ask for a cup of hot water at the front desk!! Again, no towels.. need to go down to front desk. Advertise they are pet friendly but charge $75 per pet and a cleaning fee too. This place is a joke!!! Advertise breakfast- but charge $8 per person. Nice 2019 hotel with an indoor pool, fitness center, bar, and two computers in the lobby area. The elevators are large and have grab bars on either side for the elderly. I'm with my older godparents so I could appreciate these features. The parking lot was also spacious which is good because we are driving an RV. The hotel staff were really friendly and nice at check in and also when I called to ask about a sewing kit and went down to get it. Thank you! read more

Change is good. Which is why we decided to give Hyatt a chance this time. We normally stay at the Drury across the street when we're passing through; however, we were curious! This hotel is newer and smells fresh when you walk in, not old like the other surrounding hotels. The entrance is inviting and the receptionist is friendly. Our room was clean and so spacious! I checked the beds for bugs or anything of the sort and didn't find anything except a stray hair in the mattress. There was also a hair on the floor in the bathroom. Perhaps a hair net/ponytail should be worn when the staff is refreshing the room. The bathroom shower was hot and so refreshing, perfect for winding down for the night. The vent above the toilet was dirty though, probably gets overlooked in the day-to-day cleanings. Parking is plenty. The pool is open 6-10pm and the gym is 24 hours. Both looked clean from a glance or two, I didn't get the time to use either amenity though. Breakfast was hot, delicious and had plenty of choices. Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, muffins, potatoes, salsa, jams, bagels, a waffle maker, cereal, fruit, etc. There was coffee makers and tea bags galore! I was concerned if I would be able to eat anything since I can't have dairy/soy, but I found something! This hotel costed about $40 more than the Comfort Inn and about $10 less than Drury. However, it really depends on what date you book as to pricing. If you are looking for a new, updated hotel in this area Hyatt is a good contender. read more

Was very thankful room was clean and spacious all I wanted was to sleep. We brought our baggage up after checking in and I went strait to shower to soak. There was no soaking for me tonight water pressure was horrible. So just went to bed and thankfully bed was comfortable. The tv was great size even though we didn't use it. Beside the water pressure room was nice. We count on decent breakfast so we only buy one meal out when traveling so long. This breakfast was our least favorite. The waffle machine was broken, the oatmeal wasn't good I barely ate any. The guys had biscuits and gravy with sausage that also wasn't good. So I think we will be having a decent meal somewhere else. If passing through again I think we would pick a different hotel. read more

Great place to stay! We need an overnight place to stay on our way back home from Colorado. Uber clean. Looks fairly new. Hospitable staff. Free breakfast that was grab and go packaged due to COVID. Contents included a warm breakfast sandwich, one piece of fruit and juice. They also have a Starbucks (hotel version) and you could buy other breakfast foods (cereal) and snacks (chips and candies). Our expectations were kind of low given the price point but we were truly blown away. The amenities and style of the room were great. There is also a bar in the lobby that served beer and wine only. If you need a great place to stay for the price, the Hyatt Place Amarillo is highly recommended! read more

This is the perfect place to stay on a road trip. It is right off the freeway, but you can't hear the freeway! Our room was modern, clean, and smelled good. The bed was good and pillows soft. Easy access to Route 66 and that was the main reason my family and I stayed at this hotel on our way to and from Tulsa, Oklahoma, we made this hotel our pit stop. The hotel was relatively new, check-in at the front desk was a breeze even when it was close to midnight. The breakfast buffet is truly something to write home about. Fresh hot biscuit, bacon, and breakfast sausages. DIY waffle station with all the fixings! I dare say it's far better than IHOP. There's an on-site full bar that also has Starbucks items. We stayed in a room with two queen beds and it was spacious, the bathroom was spotless. Another night, we got a room with two queen beds plus a sofa bed, it was only three of us so we didn't really need the additional sleeping area but I can see this being useful for a family with two or three kids. During a morning elevator ride, we briefly chatted up with some of the house staff, they are so welcoming to a flip flop wearing family, a sure sign that we are either from California or Florida. There's also a fairly large indoor pool and a gym which I didn't get to check out since we were literally staying overnight. As a quick stop, the hotel checked all the boxes for me, the price, location, free parking and free hot breakfast. read more

Traveled from CA and ended up in Amarillo, It was my very first time in Texas along with my family and we drove for 15 hours and arrived very very tired early morning and check in wasn't until 3 pm, however we were accommodated and checked in early for some very much needed rest. It is very clean, very aesthetic and comfortable here. It seems the rooms are sound proofed since we did not hear a thing from the freeway nearby. Pool was heated which was very nice. Any and every question asked through text was answered very promptly and professionally. Breakfast was free and very very delicious, better than Dennys if I'm being honest. We traveled with our kids and they were very happy to see they had Disney channel so they did not feel far from home at all. There was a lot of kindness from all staff here, even if we kept asking for either extra pillows or other things they helped us and never made us feel unwelcome. Being a mother I have to make sure wherever I stay that my kids are safe and that the place is clean enough for my kids to be in and sleep in. I can definitely say this place is kid friendly and they loved it too. They can't wait to go back! Thank you so much to all staff! We had a great stay at Hyatt Amarillo! The checkin process was seamless. Our room was very clean and it was HUGE. The bed + pillows were comfy as heck. The breakfast was excellent. And the Starbucks offering was a great perk! The only thing we didn't like was how hot it got at night. Shew, turn down the heat, Hyatt! Stayed here in April 2023, and we got 2 rooms. This place is just off I-40, but far enough away so you don't hear the Highway noise. The front desk staff was nice and attentive, and our rooms were next to each other. The beds were comfortable, nice to have after a long drive from Norman! Breakfast was also good with good enough options. The only real knock was that there was some pet hair in one of the rooms. But I'd say the pros outweigh this one thing. read more

And it easily runs out of ice. and it's just every other floor! Had to get ice from the bar. * Water tastes funny * Ran out of eggs, water, coffee at breakfast - how does a hotel run out of these things? Overall, probably won't stay here again, unless we really need to use Hyatt points. read more

Wow!! We booked this room while driving west and we have stayed at many Hyatt Places across the country. This hotel was clean & all the staff was very friendly & helpful. Our room was nice & quiet. I will say the pillows were to big to my liking and I woke up with a neck ache but lesson learned; bring my own pillow for optimal rest. The breakfast was great!! Waffle maker, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, potatoes and biscuits & gravy. The breakfast area was very busy but the staff was constantly refilled and cleaning. It was a very pleasant free breakfast. Everything was individually wrapped due to these new precautions which also made it feel even nicer. Hot coffee & a big selection of tea with individual honeys. Overall we enjoyed this stop and left refreshed & rested ready to keep on moving down the road!! read more

We stay at a lot of Hyatt properties each year. This is a fairly new property but our room was already showing some wear and tear. There were someone's cut fingernails on the nightstand by the bed which grossed us out. And then the shower drips right onto a metal drain which made a loud annoying noise for awhile. Called this hotel late at night to see if they had vacant rooms. Lee "helped" me- said she could accommodate my family with two rooms. When she proceeded ask for my credit card number, I told her that I could not give it to her because it was dark outside 11:30pm), and I was in the middle of driving to Amarillo from Arizona. Then she told me it was their last room and if I didn't hold it with a card, it may not be available when we arrived. So then I asked her if they had two rooms to accommodate us like she had previously said, and she begins stuttering because she was stuck in a lie of telling me that that was their last available room. I'm pretty sure this is not Hyatt's policy to lie to their customers - I've stayed at many Hyatt across the United States and this is disappointing. read more

Horrible customer service. Dante at the front desk replied with a snarky comment when asked whether he could take care of a noise complaint. "I can't tell people to go to sleep or to be quiet. I have stayed here in the past and loved everything about it. Checked in today from a long travel the person checking us in (heavier blonde gentleman) had no personality not welcoming at all. I get to my room and my kids say there's fries under the couch (wow ok). Go to use the bathroom and damm, not cleaned toilet had poop stains and pubic hair from previous person. I go back to front desk to let them know and I'm told they can put me in a smaller room (even though I paid for the larger room) I told him I wanted the same room (just clean the toilet) I said is there anything else you can do for me. Well, at first we were EXTREMELY IMPRESSED! Very very clean and well appointed. Much attention to detail. Rooms Uber clean and new. Looks like it opened last week! Next morning breakfast was served, hot scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes. Then the standard fruit, yogurt and juices. Coffee is Starbucks and is self serve from urns. Went back down after breakfast hours and no coffee? Asked where's the coffee? It's put away after breakfast service! What? Who doesn't provide coffee at all times? I'll start off with this hotel seems to be fairly new. The Good: the front clerk was exceptional The bad: Room was dirty, especially behind each bed. Old Cheetos, hair ties and fuzz. My son spilled a little bit of water on the tile and we cleaned it up with a bathroom towel. The towel was black from all the dirt on the floor. Also, Air conditioner in our room did not function properly and we were hot and miserable all night. Family that is local to the area recommended this hotel and it did not disappoint. We are pulling a moving truck and two vehicles loaded down with stuff for a cross country move. Parked them in the well lit parking area, and had no issues with theft. Friendly staff greeted us upon arrival, clean room, comfy bed, good selection of food for breakfast. Was impressed they had staff cleaning and refilling food during breakfast hours. Nice selection of hot teas, and coffee, as well as FREE speciality Starbucks drinks they will make for you at the bar.
