The outside of the building is very run down. Curtains from the outside are stained and not adhered to the curtain rod and hooks, so dirty curtains that didn't close all the way. Our room faced the street, so street noise and light was very prevalent, which affected the sleep of the children. The AC unit was dirty and not working properly. The bathroom was peeling and had mold in the cracks. Carpet was cut in different places. The smoke detector was handing from the ceiling, outlets hanging from the walls. All of this for the same price as a regular priced hotel that is clean and well maintained. It was better than sleeping in our car, but if you have it in you, hold out and go a bit further into Amarillo.

(It's the first door on your right, from the back entry door) The smell of just PURE URINE in that HOT room as soon as you walked through that door! It's like no one ever even tried to make effort to cover the smell it was so bad! An actual kennel filled with dog sh*t doesn't even compare! Huge Stains everywhere through out the carpet, big yellow stains on the white bed sheets! We tried so hard to just cover our noses with our shirts and sleep without part of the sheets to make due, & we decided let's just try and get a few hours sleep and be on our way. Saw no point in calling them to complain in this issue so late at night knowing full and well they already KNOW this room is like this but charge and book people in it anyways! It's so absolutely disgusting, There is no way in hell they don't know about this. The hotel isn't big at all, I'd say there's 50 rooms here total for them to keep up with, how do you not fix this disgusting issue?? In fact there's already a review I just noticed on here about room 119 from the year 2016!!! It's 2019!!! Let's just be honest, based on that.. they're clearly never going to resolve this so if you're going to stay here for this price and convenience off the hwy, my suggestion to you is: you've been warned, DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 119!!! The rooms are the standard Hampton Inn rooms that are well-maintained and kept clean. I checked in quickly, got my digital key, and was in my room in no time. I was trying to get on the road early and it was nice that the breakfast was up and open a few minutes before the 6:00 start time that they had announced. The breakfast was fresh, hot, and tasty. Located on the south side of town access to the hotel has also improved lately as the construction in the area is now completed. Further development of the area now has an Arbys and a Taco Bueno available with a quick walk across the parking lot. I definitely recommend staying here if you are going through the area.

And the lobby lounge area is inviting. Compared the Hilton Garden Inn, the room was roomier and more comfortable. The digital key worked great. And allowed us to bypass the check in line and get to our rooms and rest. The TV was a good sized 40 inch that could be easily viewed - unlike the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield. The only con was the dank smell when we first entered the room. That was mostly resolved with the dry feature of the HVAC unit. Then there is the HVAC unit. It was quieter than most. But do not beat the mini-spilts that tend to be in the retro fitted old motels and hotels. Parking is free. Note that Spark does provide all day coffee tea and a continental breakfast.

The happy hour lady is very sweet, the general manager is genuine and truly cares about his hotel and customers experience. The indoor pool is HUGE and heated! The billiards table is a fabulous touch. Beds and pillows are so comfy. And the entire hotel is clean clean clean. Clean rooms, clean pool, clean breakfast area. I love this hotel enough that my kids and I will be coming back just to stay at this hotel as a mini-vacation with more family. I just can't say enough good things about how impressed I am.

Someone's car alarmed to go off in the middle of the night, but that was not the hotel's fault. Lots of pillows, clean sheets, our cat was right at home. only $20 for a pet and the room was clean. It didn't smell or seem like there were dogs in it previously. When we go through Clovis, we usually need to crash and get up early and now I've got a new favorite spot.
