Small campground next to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, and right on the canyon rim. Same location as the Palo Duro zip line.
The nice folks who checked us in and the spectacular location are worth much more than three stars. Additional pluses: the sites are mostly level and the grade is flatter than the state park. Negatives: we had to change sites to find working electricity and available water.
Biggest issue: THERE CURRENTLY ARE NO BATHROOMS OR SHOWERS. The bathroom facility has burned to the ground, which I imagine has been awful for the owners. However, I wish this had been on their website and in the reservation confirmation when we booked our site a week ago. Our trailer does not have a bathroom or shower, so we likely would've changed travel plans if we had known.
Overall, it's a fine campground (tents are here, too), feels remote but is near restaurants, and it's nice to be able to book online. I advise asking about facilities before booking, though. read more
