We got there for the morning ride and the owner explained how our day's ride would look like and the story of the ranch, and then the two cowgirls leading our ride gave further instructions. They matched each rider with a horse that would fit their skill set and experience level. My horse was a slower horse (which I didn't mind so I could get the most out of the ride/horse/views) and liked to nip the butts of others. I loved my horse, very easy to guide, followed well, and was pretty. The two cowgirls were very friendly, chatted, made sure everyone was comfortable, and took photos of us whenever we got to certain viewpoints. The ride was nice and hilly so you got to see a lot and got to move around more with your horse which was fun. It was the best and I would do it again.

There were lots of families at the playground and everyone seemed very inclusive. This park is near the Don Harrington Discovery center and they had a fairly large tortoise living on the outside premises. It was neat. I would like to come back to visit that museum. All-in-all .... This park was the best part of Amarillo on this stop through.

i was visiting Amarillo for a week and needed to get my runs in while training for a marathon and…read moreone of the closest trails and parks was Medi Park on the north side of town in the medical district. There's a large playground, the Amarillo Botanical Garden next door and a 1 mile loop around the pond which made it easy to do my runs. I was warned about the geese infestation and the possibility of geese poop on the trail. I didn't see any while I was visiting, but I thought that was worth noting. There's an extended part of the trail but you have to cross traffic for it, so the one mile loop worked best for me. A lot of people were walking the trail through my three visits, a school bus was there with kids in the playground and on Saturday plenty of people were fishing in the pond. A really great and well maintained park!

Visiting Amarillo and realizing there's not a ton to do, so we figured--why not check out the zoo?…read more First off, the woman at the front desk was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell she cares, and that made a great first impression. The zoo itself is small and has a certain charm, especially with how close you can get to the animals. But as we walked through, it became hard to ignore some concerns. Several enclosures appeared to need immediate attention, and a number of animals seemed distressed--most noticeably the bears, who paced back and forth repeatedly. It left us with a heavy feeling. While the zoo has potential and some genuinely caring staff, it also feels like the animals deserve more space, better conditions, and a higher level of care. Hoping improvements are made, because these animals deserve environments where they can truly thrive.

We went earlier in the morning before it got too hot so the animals would be active. I would come back. It is not too long, and the walk is enjoyable. Watch the water around the monkey island and you will see bullfrogs and the occasional bull frog tad pole coming up for air. If you have never seen one they are quite large.

Tom kept two of the AR's and is going to fix them for us. I cannot recommend this group of guys and the shooting center more, frankly they need more than five stars. This is where we've been coming and we will always come to the shooting complex highly recommend

There is a splash pad (closed for the season) and a large playground. For me, the main thing I appreciated was the walking path that goes partially through the park.
