I made an appointment to bring my father-in-laws Honda Accord in to change out the headlight lenses. They had fogged up. Yes I know there is a chemical you can use to un-fog them but it really doesn't last. So anyway this was his Christmas gift. I already had the parts since I got them on-line, and they didn't give me a hard time about it. So, I was just charged for labor. So, I pick up the car in Bothell and drive it to Fast Eddies in Everett. "Why did you take it to a place so far away Tony B?" Well believe me, I called around. But several places did not follow up with me, or said they would not install parts that I provided myself. Fast Eddie's was easy to deal with. And we made an appointment for 10AM today. They were ready for me at 10, just as they said. I was told it would take 2 or three hours, and they were done around 1:30. So, that's pretty close. Oh, and When I checked in on Yelp, I got a pop-up with a 10% discount on labor! Fast, honest, they keep their word, and for those reasons I am awarding 5 stars. Thanks Fast Eddie! Yesterday my car battery died, so I had a new one delivered and installed. Because it's a…read moreVolkswagen, the system needed to be reset so the car would recognize the new battery. The technician didn't have the correct scanner and told me to drive to the shop. My car was running perfectly on the way there. I parked, went inside to pay, and while I was in there the mechanic tried to clear the codes. When I came back out, I was told none of their scanners would work, so they didn't charge me for that part. However, when I got back in my car, there were no codes showing--meaning something had been cleared. As soon as I started driving, my exhaust was pouring smoke and the car was making clicking noises when I accelerated. I pulled into a gas station across the street and called them. They told me it wasn't their problem. I attempted to drive home slowly since I was only five minutes away, but my check engine light came on and the car started shaking. I had to get it towed home. This "service" cost me $500 for the battery and an additional $189 for the tow, and I'm now left with a car that is worse than it was before I brought it in.

I called ahead to ask if they could press a wheel bearing if I brought in just the hub, and the woman on the phone (Mel, Stef, something like that) told me yes, no problem, and that it could be done by the end of the next day. I made it clear it was urgent. I drop it off and suddenly she's not sure if they can do it, because she doesn't know enough about the process and people who know weren't there since it was late? I don't hear back the next day, so I call them around 4PM, only to find out they hadn't even touched it yet. Then she hits me with a $250 quote to press in a bearing on a loose hub. I'm a former master-certified mechanic with 8 years in dealership service. That job is a $40-50 job max. There's no excuse for that number except price-gouging someone who doesn't know better. I immediately picked it up and took it to B-Line Automotive, two minutes away. They did the job same day, on time, and charged me THIRTY DOLLARS. No stress, no confusion. The woman at Firestone seemed totally overwhelmed every time I spoke with her. This location clearly lacks competent staffing. Either you have a press or you don't--there's no mystery here. I'll never bring anything back to this Firestone again. Total waste of time and trust. Pictures showing me going to firestone, then B-Line. And my receipt from B-Line for $30.
