I can't say enough good things about this place. I went wine tasting with my toddler and we shared the cupcake flight and I had a glass of wine and we were both happy as can be. Yes, they have easy seating and the best cupcakes. We even tried their mini flights at a wedding and can't stop talking about it. I always bring friends here when we are wine tasting in the Valley because the wine pairs well with the cupcakes. The syrah chocolate with the blackberry seems to be the winner, but I easily think the other special options are my fav. They are about as pricey as Sprinkles (which I still have to try) but they have a "flight" of cupcakes that you can try. all 6 flavors for $10. What a deal! On the way home, we couldn't help but try one and our original plan was to eat them all when we got there. As we were salivating with the remnants of the cupcake in our moth, we thought, "OH CRAP!!! We were happy to have tried Enjoy Cupcakes at Saarloos, on a Monday which apparently isn't a day for cupcakes. We were told they are only served Thurs-Sunday. While they weren't my favorite cupcakes ever, they were moist and weren't bad, which is better than dry and bad any day. They were sold out of the "Ridiculous" but we did try the 5 others and doubled up on the three remaining flavors in the flight we purchased to-go. Blueberry Lime Chardonnay and Chocolate Blackberry Syrah are the two I remember standing out to me. I'm a berry lover so this makes perfect sense :) These were surely the highlight of our tasting at Saarloos although they were merely an addition and I was unsure to if the flavors paired specifically to our wine tasting, I don't think they do. If you have a sweet tooth I definitely wouldn't rule out swinging by to purchase a flight. The price seems is completely reasonable $10 for 6. They are mini size and most full size cupcakes will run you on average $3.25. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely check out what flavors they have. read more

It's amazing how they've made so many different flavors to date, including wine-flavored ones. I bought a flight of mini-cupcakes for $10. They change their menu weekly. My flight consisted of Chocolate Blackberry Syrah, Lavendar Lime Chardonnay, Salted Maple Dark Chocolate Pecan, Peanut Butter Banana Toffee, Triple Vanilla, and Raspberry Creme Brulee. I enjoyed all of them, especially the Lavendar Lime Chardonnay one because it had such a delicious and unique flavor. Each mini-cupcake could be paired with wine at Saarloos + Sons (same location) for an additional price, but we opted out of this since we just had a day of wine tasting. I tried the following 6 cupcakes in the $10 mini cupcake sampler: chocolate peanut butter, chocolate cookie dough with caramel drizzle, watermelon, raspberry watermelon, Chardonnay with lime frosting and sea salt, and a churro with cinnamon one. Apparently my memory was a bit fuzzy because here are the official descriptions from the Enjoy Cupcake website: Chocolate Blackberry Syrah (Signature Treat - Always here): Chocolate syrah cake, filled with dark chocolate fudge, topped with blackberry frosting and a syrah soaked blackberry that's rolled in sugar crystals Cadillac: Chardonnay cake, filled with lemon lime curd, topped with grand marnier frosting and sweet & salty lime zest Strawberry Churro: Vanilla cake, filled with strawberries & cream, topped with cinnamon frosting & a churro disc Chocolate Peanut Cobbler: Chocolate, peanut cobbler cake, filled with peanut butter mousse, topped with chocolate glaze Raspberry Watermelon: Vanilla cake, filled with raspberry watermelon curd, topped with raspberry frosting Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough: Chocolate cake, filled with chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with vanilla frosting, chocolate chunks and brown sugar toffee sauce My favorite was definitely the Cadillac, which the shop owner said was made special for Cinco de Mayo. But at $10 for 6 mini cupcakes, or $2.50 for a single mini cupcake or $3.50 for a whole cupcake, the sampler is quite the steal. Actually, the more that I think about it, the more I am amazed at the skill of the baker who concocts these amazing little delights. The amount of detail that goes into putting fillings in the cupcake itself, piping the frosting, and then topping the whole thing off with little decorations shows a very delicate and artistic touch. My hat is off to the pastry artist! There's no way you can eat the whole thing by yourself. Or at least I don't recommend it. But it's great for sharing. Also, the egg cartons work surprisingly well at keeping the treats upright and from getting smushed. We didn't have a single mishap in transporting them from bag to Jeep to winery for our dessert after lunch. I would definitely recommend a stop at Enjoy Cupcakes. It's located inside and to the right in the Saarloos & Sons tasting "house" which I also recommend visiting. Saarloos has a really fun automatic picture-taking stand that is a lot of fun. When my GPS Bing took us the looong way through Solvang and Los Olivios to Andersen's Pea Soup, I thought of one person and thing only as soon as I saw the Solvang sign. After the initial response of him hating me bc of jealousy for going there he handed over all the necessary info on how to get there. The original shop that he went has since closed but thank goodness for their second location just around the bend. We arrived, parked and started following the blue dot on google maps leading us to cupcakes. We passed the blue dot with no cupcake shop insight. And then we looked and saw children eating cupcakes so we walked into Saarloos & Sons and so a tiny cupcake case to the right with a single chalkboard menu on the wall and a single gent passing out cupcake treats. The Cupcake Flight seemed to be the choice of the day. This gave you all 6 flavors in mini versions for $10.00. I will not go into detail on the cupcakes we enjoyed as they do change. Tucked inside Saarloos & Sons is a vintage mirrored table filled with cupcakes. The place was packed with holiday wine tasters and cupcake eaters alike. We purchased the last flight of minis ($10) - our first of many flights on this trip. All were enjoyable, and I really savored the spiced pomegranate and peppermint cookies n cream. Flight: Lemon Marshmallow Chardonnay, Spiced Pomagranate, Cinnamon Caramel Cheesecake, Chocolate Blackberry Syrah, Peanut Butter Pecan, Peppermint Cookies N Cream. Hidden away inside Saarloos & Sons (wine tasting), it's easy to miss this little gem. But when Ciara G, Amy B and I were in the area and CG remembered this was Craig R's FAVE cupcake place, we were relentless! We parked down the road, next to a grassy field, and walked on the sidewalk-less street in search of the address. Luckily there was a sign with pictures of their Chocolate Blackberry Syrah cupcakes out front - because otherwise we wouldn't have known they were inside! Through the cute outside patio with painted wood chairs, and just inside the front door, we saw a crowd of people wine tasting near the fireplace, and more waiting to purchase cupcakes on the other side of this redone house. We scored the last flight of 6 minis, ($10) to share, woohoo! We tasted them like we would wine - lightest to heaviest: Lemon Marshmallow Chardonnay - light sweet lemony icing, filled into a light cake. I didn't detect chardonnay, it tasted like a great lemon mini - and is one of my faves! Spiced Pomagranate - pomagranate airils on top of pink icing and lightly spiced cake - and a surprise filling of more airils! The airils in the center were stuffed in after baking, too - NOT baked in, so they were still fresh and juicy! I enjoyed this one more than I expected! Cinnamon Caramel Cheesecake - a drizzle of caramel, cream cheese icing, soft cake, and a caramel cheesecake center! Yum! Ever so mildly cinnamony, this was one of my faves! Chocolate Blackberry Syrah - a sugared blackberry topped a berry icing, a syrah-flavored mild chocolate cake, and a center of chocolate ganache. This was tasty, but not one of my faves. Peanut Butter Pecan - peanut butter frosting, pecan crumbles and a caramel drizzle top a pecan praline-caramel-y filling, in a lightly chocolate cake. The frosting was the best part on this cupcake - it unfortunately had a slightly bitter and astringent aftertaste from the pecan skins. Peppermint Cookies N Cream - light chocolate cake with a very mild peppermint chocolate ganache center, oreo frosting, and peppermint candy crumbs on top. Really good! The real deal 'gourmet' cupcake. Thanks to Craig R. and cupcake list, I knew I had to come to Enjoy Cupcakes on our trip up to Solvang. Los Olivos is only a few minutes north of Solvang, still in the Santa Ynez valley, and I daresay my favorite town we visited while on our trip. It's cute, tiny, and if you like wine, a wine lovers paradise. Now I don't really care about wine that much, so I felt kinda dorky walking up and down the main street, which is filled to the brim with wine room tastings. But I was here for a reason. So we headed over to Sarloos and Son's, where Enjoy Cupcakes are housed. Cute and simple, there is one glass case with all the cupcakes on the menu for the week, and a friendly guy there to tell you every single thing you want to know about each cupcake. (I think he was the owner). After explaining everything about them, he suggested we get the Flight for $10.00. One of each of the cupcakes, in mini size. This we did. AMAZING. My absolute favorite was the lemon drop. Perfect. Vanilla cake, filled with fresh lemon curd, topped with lemon frosting and dusted with fine sugar. I also liked the Berry Chardonnay chardonnay cake, filled with raspberries & cream, topped with strawberry frosting, & berries. I think I'm a fruity kind of cupcake person, although the chocolate cupcakes were awesome, I find I always like fruity cupcakes the best. I think what I like the most about enjoy is that they aren't over powering. Most gourmet cupcakes are soooooo sugary. I can never finish a whole one. These were well made, very unique and fresh, and the frosting just flat out kicked asssssss. Their weekly menu offerings rotate and consist of six different cupcakes, always including their signature treat (chocolate blackberry syrah), at least one new cupcake flavor that's being debuted that week, and a fun cupcake with flavors that appeal to the youngsters (and the young at heart!). And if that's not enough to rock your world, they've dreamed up over 200 sensational flavor creations! The cupcakes are available in regular or mini size, and if you plan on wine tasting, the minis are served in a "flight" to be paired with the wines. My two favorites of the trip were the chocolate blackberry syrah (signature treat) and the ginger lime chardonnay (most requested). The chocolate blackberry syrah is a sultry combination of dark chocolate and blackberry, topped with a wine soaked blackberry rolled in sugar crystals. The ginger lime chardonnay is light, refreshing and a perfect articulation of summertime. The cupcakes are melt-in-your-mouth brilliant. Each bite is a playful balance of taste and texture. Most of the cupcakes are filled with a pastry cream that really encompasses the overall flavor profile, making each bite the perfect ratio of decadent creamy goodness to fluffy cake undertones. The cake itself is airy and moist, and not overwhelming sweet, allowing the delightfully complex flavors to stand out. Saarloos & Sons and Enjoy cupcakes have created an amazing atmosphere built around the familiar idea of a "house". It's not just a bakery inside a winery. It's an old friend welcoming you into their home. I had an unforgettable experience here - sharing moments with good company, friends and strangers alike. I was charmed by a certain indescribable dimension of Enjoy cupcakes and taken aback by their fan base. During my brief stay, one customer returned 3 times to buy cupcakes. Cupcakes and wine!!!! These are two of my favorite things. How could I go wrong? I didnt. It was awesome coming to this winery and being able to order a wine and cupcake flight. I thought most of the wine was okay but the cupcakes were definitely paired appropriately to each wine. They complemented them nicely. The cupcakes were moist and flavorful and the frosting was not overpowering like most frostings can be. The flavors were vey unique as well. They had... - Mandarin Orange Ginger Chardonnay - very tasty. i loved the orange and ginger flavor - chocolate blackberry syrah - this the cupcake that they're famous for and it's there every week. it was delicious. i was sad that i had to share this with my bf. sharing a mini cupcake is hard you get about one bite and this one left me craving more. - Dream Bar - tasty chocolate hazelnut. always a great combo - Chocolate PB Pretzel - an interesting combination. could have used a little more PB. - Rizagalo - this one i was a little cautious about, but it ended up being surprisingly tasty. the cinnamon makes this one awesome - triple vanilla - i wasn't that impressed with this one, but then again i find vanilla kind of plain. We came during the week of 12/30/12 and tried the flight of 6 mini cupcakes for $10. The flavors we tried in the order that we liked are as follows: Chocolate Coffee Toffee (Chocolate cake, filled with toffee sauce, topped with espresso frosting & toffee coffee sauce): absolutely my favorite. This was so yummy. Mango Chardonnay (Chardonnay cake, filled with mango curd, topped with sweet cream cheese frosting): nice and light and not too sweet. Banana Salted Butterscotch (Vanilla cake, filled with fried bananas, topped with butterscotch frosting & sea salt): I might not be a fan of sea salt items. This was good but the saltiness was weird to me. Cinnamon Roll (Vanilla cinnamon sugar cake, filled with vanilla bean cinnamon pastry cream, topped with vanilla frosting): I ate this one in the store and it tasted a little stale to me. Perhaps I got one from an old batch. Chocolate Blackberry Syrah (Chocolate syrah cake, filled with dark chocolate fudge, topped with blackberry frosting and a syrah soaked blackberry that's rolled in sugar crystals): I think the syrah made the overall treat a little bitter and that overpowered the chocolate and all of the other things. I know this is the signature item but I didn't like it very much. Peanut Butter Cup (Chocolate cake, filled with peanut butter mousse, topped with chocolate ganache, a mini peanut butter cup and peanut butter glaze): I love peanut butter but didn't care for this cupcake. Maybe it was because it was the last one I tried? I am not a cupcake connoisseur but really enjoyed the treats here.
