Billing went from $16 to $27???? Their response "things cost more these days". That's about a 40% increase; that's way more than cost of living. Avoid this company, they are no longer a value. I had a few times over the years that the alarm was tripped and never received a call. With the Ring and other options, companies that monitor private residences need to downsize their business footprint or they will price themselves out of business.
