It was a great experience from start to finish, with no surprises or additional costs. I had a great conversation with Somer and she set up an appointment for Bradley to come to my home. He is a great consultant. We toured my home, I expressed my concerns, he explained my options, and we decided on a course of action. It was scheduled to be a two day project, but it was completed in one day, because Paco was able to get a second crew, due to another job being postponed. Paco is as good as advertised. He is extremely polite, a great technician, and treated my home like it was his own. His crew protected the flooring and cleaned up after the job was completed. They arrived at 8am, and left at 7pm. Since the project was completed, I've noticed that the temperature throughout the house appears to be constant, unlike before, when I had hot and cold areas. The project involved removal of the old insulation, install radiant barrier, apply 18" of new insulation, installation of two solar fans, an attic stairway tent, replace 9 soffits and install 11 new ones to increase ventilation. They also applied new insulation and a whirlybird to my detached garage. Again, this was supposed to be a two day project. Randy came to see how things were going, and I received a call from Gus (Operations Manager) as well. The attic looks awesome and feels cool. Bradley came the following day to ensure that everything went well and that I was satisfied. I appreciate the level of attention provided, and the care the crews took in cleaning up afterwards. I consider this project to be a great investment, which will provide many years of comfort, and increase my home's energy efficiency throughout the seasons. Overall it was a very good process working with this company. They returned phone calls, showed up when they said they would, had a competitive quote, and were easy to work with. We had 2 solar attic vents installed and I am sure they will be a great energy savings when the wonderful Texas heat rolls around this summer. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is that they didn't clean up the attic from where they cut holes in the roof for installation. Not a huge deal but a little annoying when all the stuff we have stored in the attic is covered in bits of shingles and dust. Otherwise I would highly recommend them. read more

I was looking for a company to install radiant barrier and check ventilation before we moved into our new 18 year old home. The inspection showed poor air flow. Ryan was prompt, had a fair bid, and made logical suggestions. We put a solar powered air fan in which significantly increased air flow, and Ryan put the old fan in a new location over attic storage which keeps that space at reasonable temperatures all year. We also installed radiant barrier and blew in additional insulation. And Ryan made sure I not only had the paperwork for the tax deduction, but reminded me at tax time!! I really love supporting local businesses and especially ones who deserve the praise. Energy Attic recently installed new insulation and a radiant barrier in my friend's attic. Let me just say, wow, I am impressed. I have been up in his attic before for hours in the grueling Texas summer. The temperature difference on either side of the barrier is insane. It has to be about 20 degrees which almost makes the space tolerable. The new insulation has also made my friend's electric bill drop significantly. All of this and they had the project completed in 1 day. My friend didn't even have to take off work! My friend also got some solar panels, new windows and a new AC unit but those were installed from a few other sub contractors. I will definitely be using Energy Attic when I make these upgrades to my own home (A++ installers). read more

I would not recommend using Energy Attic for any AC needs. I did, and they sent over a nice young man who did not know how to work on my AC unit. He was at my house for about 2 hours, on the phone with other technicians most of the time. He fiddled with a lot of things, and when he left he told me that my compressor was bad. Energy Attic then sent me an estimate for $7200 for a new 14 seer unit, or $8000 for a 16 seer unit. I called another company to look at it, and the guy that came over found the issue in 5 minutes, and had everything working perfectly when he left, about 10 minutes in all. Energy Attic then billed me for $150 for the technician coming over. I called and asked why it was $150, when they had told me it was $130 initially, and also explained that the other company fixed the issue, and that I didn't need a new AC. They changed the bill to $130, and said that they didn't know why they charged $150. I really don't think they should have charged me anything. Also, after their technician left my AC was very low on coolant, and I know he was messing with that. A little coolant screw plug was also missing. So I had to pay for those, which was another $100 plus. And when I asked the other guy how much for a new AC unit, he quoted me $4500, which is around what I have seen advertised by others. So maybe these guys are good with attics, but not with AC. read more

Very impressed with Ryan and his team. We recently bought a six-year-old Darling Home. Sadly, between installing the cheapest possible insulation and equipment (they don't call it builder grade for nothin'), and foreign-owned manufacturers' planned obsolescence (I grew up in the hometown of Carrier Corp., once the gold standard in American-made systems; bought out by a Japanese holding company who promptly cut thousands of jobs along with an impressive array of corners...), that's right around the age you can start scoping out landfills for your unit's final resting place. Since we had a lot of remodeling to do, we hoped we could hang on to the old battle-axe at least a couple more years if possible. We contacted Energy Attic and see if they could make modest improvements to help us in that quest. My late husband and I had an energy audit done of my former home years ago, and a small investment ended up saving substantially both in energy consumption and on monthly bills. I hoped we might enjoy similar results again. It was a pleasant surprise when I was greeted by live human upon calling for an appointment. Kristina set a date for us, and Ryan showed up precisely on time. He did a thorough evaluation of our insulation (spotty), ventilation (almost none) and duct work (let's just say, much more efficient for Darling than us). Ryan gave us a range of options, we ultimately decided to increase our insulation both an amount and quality, add solar vents and have one of his partners who is an expert in ducting make adjustments to achieve more even airflow within the confines of the current structure. He was no-pressure and very professional, returning about a week later. The team worked quickly, neatly and professionally. We did notice most of the improvements right away, but had them come back after a month to make a few additional tweaks to the ductwork. He couldn't have been more accommodating in making his return visit a priority instead of a grudge, as is common with so many service providers these days. As you see by the excellent reviews, this is a quality, family-owned company run by people who still take pride in their work. Now there's a change most of us can actually appreciate. read more

They did an amazing thorough job. I was very impressed and I can already tell the difference, my upstairs is so much cooler and the air conditioner runs so much less now. I wish I had done this when I moved in to the home!! Only had one issue, the team's vacuum that supplies the insulation must have had some grease or something on the bottom of it and it left a smudge on my new carpet. I wasn't too happy about it so I called and talked with their Operation Manager and he almost immediately came over and started cleaning the spot with dawn soap and water. He told me to let him know if the spot wasn't completely gone after it dried and he'd have a professional cleaner come and remove the mark which we ended up needing. They were so professional, friendly, and fast about removing the spot to my carpet and this is why I didn't knock off a star for having to deal with the situation. Several years ago (2009) we had Energy Attic come out and do our home with the works; radiant barrier, blown insulation, fans and this company exceeded all expectations. From management, the owner and down to the workers/crew were very professional, attention down to the last detail. This was one of the best investments I could have done! My electric bills were at least 100 dollars less in the summer, not to mention the savings on wear and tear on the Air Conditioning Unit. Just recently, I had the unfortunate luck of having Opossums taking residency in my Attic. We discovered that they had gained access from the side trees/bushes, climbing down on our sun room and then making a hole in the soffit vent area and had completely wrecked the attic's radiant barrier and entire insulation. I decided to look around just to see what was out there in 2015. I decided to go with a KNOWN PROFESSIONAL COMPANY, which was back with Energy Attic. Not only did they have THE best prices for removal of the old destroyed insulation and radiant barrier, but because I was a former client, they went above and beyond what I would have expected from even the best company. I have to say further than my previous expectations in all aspects. Both Ryan and Guy are top notch men, have a top notch company and crew. I would HIGHLY recommend their services to my family, friends or anyone that wants a professional job done that doesn't just give you what's required but what you would expect if you were doing it! Right down to a blowing piece of insulation the size of a dime in your driveway, street or garage is collected and I have to say my attic looks like a new product when it was done back in 2009 the first time; not patch work stuff. The photos Guy showed me after the insulation and radiant barrier were removed had the attic looking like it was a newly constructed attic. Not a spot of trash, dirt could be seen and my friends and neighbors just said, "WOW" when I showed the photos of post removal and the end product when it was restored back to new! We had Energy Attic blow in attic insulation, install a radiant barrier, and increase the number of soffit vents. They were professional in every step of the process. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I had lots of doubts about a radiant barrier. After a full year, I can say that the energy bills have been less, but the biggest difference I notice personally is that the house feels warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer. Our upstairs never seemed to heat or cool well, no matter what the HAVC was set on. Immediately, Energy Attic finished the job, we could feel a difference. Although we have decided we're too aged to make a big commitment on solar, we are really impressed with the approach, knowledge, explanations, and installation/ownership plan by Energy Attic. I think the ownership model would be better, rather than a long-term lease arrangement. We have confidence that the warranties and reputation of this company would more than offset the theoretical "worry-free" approach of leasing. I feel like I was nickled a dimed over the number of bags that was used. Why because the contract said that Energy Attic will apply 6 inches of insulation on top of what I already had which was 10 inches. 10+6 = 16 inches. It was clealry showing 14 inches in some areas. So when the work was done I mentioned it to the person in charge who was on site, but he brushed it off with conversation with R value. The whole conversation about R value is a subjective one because it is dependent on many factors. But the actual amount of insulation applied is not a subjective matter. I reached out to the company via email and sent pictures of the areas where it clearly shows 14 inches. What gets me the most is fact that everyone in this business agrees that the cost is actually in labor and not in material. Unfortunately the person on site who was feeding the contents of the bags was too worried about the number of bags used as he kept counting them. The right practice would be to make sure that the tech in attic applies the amount promised. read more

We recently had Energy Attic remove all our existing insulation and sanitize the attic space because we had squirrels in our attic. They also built a walk path for us so that we could get to the other end of our attic without the danger of falling through the ceiling. They also installed new insulation. We had a few issues, but Guy, Ryan and Randy were very responsive to our concerns and personally came to our house to make sure all issues were address to our satisfaction. The company did good work, but the most important thing to me was that when I had a concern/issue they addressed it head on and didn't try to explain it away or pressure me to accept things as is. Called Energy Attic for an overall assessment of our home efficiency. The main theme was the importance of maximizing airflow. Our home had eight meager outside soffit vents. EA not only replaced the eight with much larger, more effective coverings but also added an additional 20 vents along various points of the house. The airflow from above the garage to throughout the attic is much more noticeable. The summer months will be the true test. read more

Overall, the quality of the work was good, but I would NOT recommend Energy Attic to anyone. I was very disatisfied with the pricing after learning from my insurance agent that we were significantly overcharged. The representative from Energy Attic stated that they would speak with my insurance agent and discuss the details of the quote. Energy Attic quoted $500 as a minimum just to do the job, which was basically a 6 ft by 4 ft section of ceiling that fell. As a resident of Wylie TX where many many homes were damaged by the storms, we thought we could trust the representative to give us a fair quote. After speaking with my insurance agent, who told me that Energy Attic basically stated that they could quote whatever they wanted because it was their company and that's how they make their money, I know now that we did not receive a fair price. We were charged 3 times the fair value for the repair. I would NOT recommend Energy Attic to anyone who desires a company that will offer a fair price, especially in the wake of having to do so many repairs to our house from the hail. We are hard working individuals who have had to pay out of pocket on top of what insurance gave us, all because the company was just trying to make money. read more
