ZERO accountability! Efficient sold us a new system 5 years ago and it's been nothing but problems! We pay for the 2x service plan and yet every year we need pipes blown out for extra. Last year replaced the motherboard. Just had pipes blown again. Service fees, trip charges, not fixing the problem and when David calls back, more fees. At what point does a business make the customer a priority? When telling efficient today we're going elsewhere, the answer was okay, good luck. HORRIBLE. Since we cannot reply to your response which is inaccurate, your reply does NOT include YOUR service tech pressure washing our outdoor system because it was dirty and should have been cleaned at install. Your reply does NOT include us not being able to heat the house because the dampers on the system you installed broke. Furthermore we have had to burn wood every winter because the system you sold us won't heat over 50 on many, not all, but many days in the winter. Lastly, why would we buy a new system and even THINK to replace a mother board. That's on the service and products we were sold, not the consumer. I was able to have a company come out today for $99 if they find the problem or when they find the problem we pay for the fix and they credit the $99 towards the parts and labor. We never asked for free, but we did not want to pay your service fees to come out when clearly your team could not diagnose the problem. When would that circus end? Thank you for calling so promptly. We wish you the best of luck. And your service fees should never outweigh doing the right thing or the value of having a good customer base. Losing customers is worse than losing a fee. read more

I used them for an insulation rennovation of my attic. This was the first company I called on a month-long journey of multiple company quotes, advice, concerns, and discussions. But when I spoke again with David of this company, he came out again to my house and spent an hour walking around my attic and property with me. He gave me his honest and professional opinions using his 20+ years of experience working in this field including his time as an energy auditor. They were patient and understanding through my constant concerns and questioning and for that they earned by business. Their pricing was on par with the other quotes I obtained, although now I'd say the value of the service was definitely great. They actually just completed the work a couple days ago, removing all my 41 year old insulation and replacing it with new (making my previous R-16 attic into a high standard R-60). The workers were diligent and polite, encouraging me to check their work as they completed each step. I'd use them again. read more

Can't recommend Efficient Home Solutions enough. They came out to fix a tricky clog in my drainage pipe the very next morning and the cost felt fairly priced compared to others. Can also say their staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. When I called them later for help in replacing my weirdly sized filter, David took the time to do a video call and help me figure out what I needed. And if you have an older furnace or you're just struggling to keep up with home improvement needs, I recommend doing a service agreement with them to have them do maintenance checks on your HVAC seasonally. When the service engineer arrived, we go into the home and discovered the unit was working as expected. Still, I got charged the $79 fee. They show up on time, and do not try to upsell or price gouge you on anything. They are also certified to sell and repair Lennox and Carrier units, and are very competitive with their pricing. I needed to get someone out ASAP to assess and after getting daunted by the sheer number of options for HVAC companies, I logged onto yelp and used their tool where they can have contractor reach out to set up a visit. Technician was on time, quoted $400 for blown capacitor replacement. I declined and paid the service call. Later found out that capacitor sticker that had the technical specifications was ripped off by the tech during the "troubleshooting". I find this unprofessional and bad business practice because it is just making the process complicated for the next person or company who would service the unit. read more

My AC went out on the 4th of July. Called Efficient Home solutions. The response was quick. I got charged $478 for a blown capacitor. The $189 trip fee which I was told upfront was fair for a Holiday weekend. However, the 289$ for a Capacitor that at most costs 20$ was not. read more

This was the first summer in our new house and we learned not only that the AC unit and furnace were too small but also that the original owners made a garage conversion that wasn't fully connected to the HVAC system! Our old air conditioner had been on its last leg for 3 summers. After fighting with our home warranty company for 3 weeks (where they kept "repairing" our unit only for it to break again a week later) we decided to get a new unit. We declined to go with the company who was sent to us by our home warranty because the business was terrible. We had remembered Rocky from Efficient Home Solutions, who'd come to us for a repair the year before and we remembered how helpful and trustworthy he was. They'd provided us a refrigerator magnet with conversion tables, and my husband said, "Who was the company with the conversion table magnet? They were fantastic!" So we called up Efficient Home Solutions and told them about our AC (which was completely kaput). Rocky and David set an appointment to come out with us THAT NIGHT to talk about units and see if we could get our clunker up and running. They provided us several options to choose from, and didn't try to upsell us into anything that didn't need to be done. They shared that we didn't have enough ducting for our square footage, and laid out the plan to help us get the most out of our AC. We actually decided to get a new unit AND a new furnace, so that we might avoid any trouble down the road. Rocky tried everything he could to get our unit running while we waited for installation, but that thing was gone. However, we appreciated his efforts in trying to help in any way he could. We set our installation date and were ready to go. Installation of our unit, ducting, and furnace took 1 day. 1 day! They were incredibly fast and did an amazing job getting everything installed and all the old stuff hauled away. David and Rocky made sure they were there on installation day to make sure everything went well- which is always such a nice experience to make you feel valued and cared for. Installation went great and the results have been awesome- our new unit is silent! It used to sound like something was about to explode when that old unit came on. Our house is so comfortable now- I didn't even know it could be this good! The new unit is great and David called to check on us the next day to make sure everything was working right, and they are scheduled to come out today to check again. I really felt like they cared about us and that they valued us as customers. There was a reason we remembered the company with the magnet- they were great then and they were amazing when we needed them. We had Efficient Home Solutions out to look at the interior and exterior units and the insulation on a new house we just purchased. It was totally a pleasant experience! From calling into the office to schedule the visit to the actual on-site walkthrough with the owner, David, it was a completely seamless process. We learned the difference in high efficiency units from a few years ago to today, and we got advice on which smart thermostat we should buy for our new house. I chose to try this company based on reviews and I'm glad I did. The person answering the phone was friendly and easy to understand. They followed up our conversation in writing with an email. They gave me a 2 hour arrival window (not an all day time frame like some others). The tech called me in advance and arrived on time. He evaluated my problem quickly and got my system working. This is a company with a focus on customer service and not high pressure sales. I will keep this company on speed dial and recommend them to my friends and neighbors. Update: 7/2016 - My air conditioner stopped working so I called EHS again to see if their good service was a fluke or if it is how they do business. I'm happy to report that they still provide great service. The repairman was polite and quickly diagnosed the issue. He gave me options on repairing the system. He took pride in his work and made sure the wiring was secured neatly in the panel. I also received a phone call from the owner of the company asking how my service call went. These folks were tremedous. I called for an appointment and they came over, diagnosed the issue, and were working to fix it that afternoon. The difference is 180 degrees. I now have a clean, quiet, comfortable system with every part of the facility evenly cooled. The people were so courteous and professional. I have been very happy with working with these guys. I called them out earlier in the summer when the system was operating at low efficiency. They took a look, gathered enough information to make a good diagnosis without doing tests that they'd have to charge me for, and made a recommendation. They weren't necessarily the cheapest bid (though everyone bids different products so you can never have an apples-to-apples comparison), but I felt that it was the best bid, based on the professionalism of the staff and the apparent quality of the system they suggested. There was no sales pressure at the time, just a recommendation to consider. Fast forward two months, and a different part of the system unexpectedly fails. They came back out promptly, took a look, and gave the honest diagnosis - the part is fixable, but it'd be $1200 and with a 12-year old system it just didn't seem like a logical step. They offered me a good price on the same system they had recommended before and we scheduled for the very next day. The install crew was also very professional and good. They worked quickly and were easy to work with, even being willing to let me go to work with the house locked up and give me a call when they were ready to come in and do the thermostat and testing (our attic access is in the garage). Efficient Home Solutions has a philosophy of replacing new virtually everything involved in the system, simply because it's better to replace it now, even if it's a few hundred extra dollars, than to run into continual challenges as little components fail every few years. They gave me good recommendations, even on things that fall outside their business model, and even on things that they could make money doing for me but that I could do for cheaper elsewhere. They offered me a wealth of financing options, and were honest that there's no such thing as zero interest financing, except that they as a company would be willing to eat the interest themselves if I paid a certain amount down, which we did. The financing process was quick and easy and will be very convenient for me. I recommend these guys for a quality job! read more

Paid the tech and then AC malfunctions at 9am next day 9:17am Call to get a tech to fix what was supposedly fixed less then 24 hours ago and are told tech can be here by 2pm or they can refund me Told them I'd call back after speaking to my husband. 9:29am call back to have a tech come and am told they can't be here until 3-5. As I'm talking to Mary I ask her to explain how a paid customer is not being put as an immediate need. She the explains how they were booking up appointments from the time we last spoke to the time I was then on the phone with her. I also asked her why I was being treated like I was a new customer who hadn't already paid for work done and all she could say was "sorry" and kept talking over me about how she can refund me. Best part? She told me as we were talking the time I could be seen had jumped to 8pm Great customer service. Sad to see a customer who paid for a service is not any type of priority and that you don't stand by your work We have a 3 month old. When they found out during the instillation day that the new thermostat did not work well with our system, they were willing to bring another back out to fix it. The unit that had been registered 5 different times went bad and had to be replaced. Supposedly it was a brand new unit? Rheem paid $300 and provided the new part. I wonder if the unit was used/problematic and was purchased on the cheap. How come it was registered 5 different times to 5 different people? The new HVAC contractor fixed another installation problem. EHS forgot to put the drip pan in under the coils and water leaked into my daughters room! Worse experience ever! Disclaimer: This review is for services from late 2018. Overall I am satisfied with Efficient Home Solutions, to the point I did purchase their maintenance plan, but there were a few bumps along the way. My heating system which is a few years old but not about to kneel over either had issues with the breaker tripping. It took multiple trips and component replacements before they sent out an electrical expert who re-wired the whole system to schematic for the issues to finally be resolved. The heater was heavily used in the winter after all the repairs and certainly held up, but it would have been nice if the suspect wiring was addressed earlier rather than as the last fixable item. That said, the last tech who came out though was very thorough with not only his electric work/wiring but overall inspection of the system, and leaves me confident to continue calling them for service. read more
