I have a Jacks Open pinball game from the 70's that has been in my family for over 40 years. About 15 years ago it stopped advancing the ball when you turned it on. I found a home pinball repair technician who spent a few hours and was unable to figure out what was going wrong. He wasn't sure if they could fix it in their shop but said I could bring it in and they could try. Feeling defeated I put it off and put it off...for 15 years! Then I finally decided I needed to deal with it or create a closet in the nook that it lived in. Just when I was beginning to think customer service was dead, along comes Pat with Endless Pinball. What can I say, amazing customer service. I had already called two other repair places, none returned my calls. I called Endless Pinball on Saturday expecting to leave a VM because they were closed, but lo and behold, Pat, the owner, picks up, answers my questions, quotes me a price and later that evening when he returned home, texted me a couple of appointment dates and times to choose from. Pat showed up spot on time Monday, sent text message updates prior to his arrival, was very polite, explained things as he went along, made suggestions about what needed to be done and what could wait, simply amazing. This guy is passionate about pinball and it shows. My machine is up and running again. Not only did he replace my MPU board damaged by leaking batteries, he was able to upgrade it to a newer model that doesn't require back up batteries. He also replaced and adjusted a couple of other small things that another shop had tried to repair years ago, but hadn't been done correctly. Bought my very first machine earlier this month and Pat made the whole process about as painless as possible. I had lots of questions, understandably, and Pat was always quick to get back to me to explain what was what. Once I picked the machine I wanted (BoP), I threw him a bunch of curve-balls by wanting some things changed/upgraded but none of it seemed to be an issue. We exchanged emails throughout the entire upgrade process with him keeping me up to date on what was going on, parts that were being shipped, etc. When it came to delivery, I had the pleasure of meeting his assistant Edric (I hope I'm spelling that right) who was a breeze to work with. He was able to get the machine through some rather tight corners, leveled it perfectly, showed me where everything was and made sure that everything was working right before signing off. He even helped me put my fridge doors back on as they had to come off briefly to navigate the narrow kitchen. One of the main reasons I chose Endless for my first machine was the support. Pat said from Day 1 that if I had any issues I could call him and discuss it any time (even beyond the warranty). And with his service area being LA to San Diego, it was good peace of mind to have someone local in case I ran into issues. In fact, about a week after delivery I had a minor issue with a switch/relay that was behaving strangely but Pat knew exactly what it was. As willing as he was to come out and fix it under warranty, I'm pretty handy with tools and electronics and wanted to learn about my machine. So he gave me the option to fix it myself, making sure I was comfortable with what I was doing and explaining he could come out if I hit any snags. He made sure to check on my progress and answer any questions I had (some of them pretty late one night!) and by the next day I was back in business, hitting jackpots and setting high scores. There's nothing Pat doesn't know about pinball. In 2000, I bought a very beat up Whitewater machine that spent it's first seven years at arcades in France. The playfield was worn with bald spots and many of the ramps were cracked. Pat was experienced with this machine and even showed me his restored model at his house. He then restored my machine to its original luster and even added some nice mods. My only regret is that I didn't opt to have him put new decals on the cabinet; it would have made it look brand new. Two years ago, he fixed the bigfoot assembly board which are impossible to get. Bigfoot happily spins his head ever since!!! I dropped off my Indiana Jones pinball early this year. Pat did a full restoration on the exterior graphics, LED light upgrade, color DMD upgrade, all new bumpers, and replaced damaged boards. While it took a while Pat was excellent about keeping me up to date with the progress including pictures. There were a few issues upon delivery which could have been caused due to transportation but Pat stepped up and spent as much time needed to talk me through some simple troubleshooting to get the few issues resolved. This ended up being a great thing because I can now do some basic troubleshooting for simple fixes without having to do a service call.
