Immediately faced an extremely unfriendly barista/cashier who clearly didn't want to answer any questions, which really set the tone for the rest of our visit. My latte was so ridiculously strong and barely any oat milk was added even though I paid extra for nondairy. This would have been fine if the espresso was good, but it was not. Very bitter and grisly. The iced coffee/cold brew was just as much of a disappointment, and also did not have an adequate amount of nondairy milk added. Would've been willing to overlook some of these issues if they weren't so expensive. It was about $9-$10 just for these 2 drinks. read more

I've never been here before it's a small little store. I got a green tea latte and a coffee (I'm a fiend) and they were both really good. Ended up talking to the owner he said they're moving to a bigger store. He's a sweet guy! The place is tiny but they utilized the space very well you have enough room to sit down even bring your laptop or a book while drinking your coffee. I'm excited to see the new space! I sit here staring out the window into the sunny town of Pitman, sipping a delicious Ethiopian single-origin cold brew through a red and white barber-shop striped straw, as presented to me by Joe himself. Joe is the owner. This particular option was recommended to me based on my obscure, specific, and frankly ridiculous dietary needs: low acidity, low caffeine, and free of dairy. I'm no coffee expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. In all seriousness, I appreciate a good cup of coffee and Endgrain makes a mighty fine cup of it. I tried it out this past Sunday based on all of the positive Yelp reviews and as usual my fellow Yelpers did not let me down. The place is small and bright but I believe that is what lends to the overall vibe of Endgrain. As soon as you walk in the vibe is laid back and relaxing. The barista that was working during my visit made me feel very welcome and there was a turntable spinning some mellow tunes that contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. The barista took the time to explain to me what I didn't know (which turns out to be quite a lot) and helped me to understand the extensive menu the coffee brands he serves. There aren't many variations offered (only latte, americana, pour over and regular brew, at least on the day I visited), but I was glad not to be overwhelmed by the menu. This was the first time I ever saw "pour over" coffee offered and I thoroughly enjoyed two cups of it. He convinced me that good coffee doesn't need cream and sugar and it is amazing how much flavor is in a good cup of joe. It was clear to me that this guy was very knowledgable and passionate about coffee. I really enjoyed this visit and the coffee. So happy to see a place like this in my area. I would drive five extra minutes to Endgrain any day of the week rather than overpay at Starbucks. I'll definitely be stopping here several times a week. If you appreciate a really good cup of coffee, do yourself a favor and try Endgrain. You will not be disappointed. read more

Such a cute little addition to downtown Pitman! I am so happy to see places like this pop up here! This is an adorable little European style coffee house also selling a small assortment of pastry. There are a few tables with chairs and some seats at a window facing bar. I could totally see this place in some small side street in Rome. But, most importantly, amazing coffee! Pick from drip, pour over, nitro and coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino etc). The pasty is good. They also have a small assortment of cold drinks in a small fridge. A tiny Euro cafe on a side street off Pitman's main broadway...what an exciting new addition to this area. I enjoyed my pumpkin affogato and all the while wondered why more cafes don't offer such (ice cream + espresso). The espresso was very good--smooth, not acidic, with none of that burnt bitterness that some espresso can have. The barista was nice and helpful. The only downside here is the shop is very small, and to me felt a little awkward to stick around in. But nonetheless, it's clean, cozy, and cute with a minimalist style. Very cute and very small coffee shop in Pitman New Jersey. I tried their regular coffee and their Americano. They use the same beans for the regular coffee as they do for the espresso. It's a nice homegrown shop. I nearby ice cream business uses their coffee to make coffee ice cream and a brewery uses it for a coffee Porter. This place is literally the bee's knees. If it were possible for an establishment to hold pollen underneath it to later be used to produce a pleasant, sweet nectar, it would be this one. However, instead of using pollen to generate honey, it was a personal decision of the owner to blend high quality beans to concoct a beautiful mixture of exquisitely bitter and lusciously sweet coffee. As someone who is ferociously and violently particular about the conduit of their caffeine intake, I can say without hesitation that the product of this institution is that of the highest caliber. Upon entering the store front, your nostrils will be smashed with the palpable aroma only comparable to that of a chocolate freight train screeching through two miniature train stations. While initially jarring, I managed to leave entirely unscathed with a delectable cup of nitrogen infused, cold brewed coffee. I would recommend it. read more

There's not a lot of coffee shops in the area so when I stumbled upon this on Yelp I knew I had to try it out! It's a cute little shop on a side street. The decor is European-esque and minimalistic. This place is great. The owner is a fantastic guy trying to revitalize Pitman and I think he's right on track. His shop is cool, hip, and hospitable, and he's a knowledgeable guy who's excited to serve you a pretty decent cup of coffee. There aren't any specialty coffee shops anywhere worth going to nearby other than Philly, so this place really is a gem. It's a very small shop, but they've got wifi, AMAZING pastries, and good coffee. I drove 25 minutes out of the way to study for a bit and I'd do it again.
