I honestly don't understand the 3.2 rating--our experience at Milkweed Table & Market was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere stood out right away. It's warm, inviting, and has that perfect balance of cozy and thoughtfully curated. You can tell a lot of intention went into creating the space--it just feels good to be there. The food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and clearly made with quality ingredients. You can tell this isn't just thrown together--it's food made with care. What really made the experience, though, was the service. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. That kind of hospitality is hard to find and makes a huge difference. Overall, this place exceeded expectations in every category--food, service, and atmosphere. We will 100% be back and would absolutely recommend giving it a try. Definitely deserves a higher rating than what it currently has. read more

Lovely place to get brunch, with lots of great, unique menu items that are worth the cost. The interior seating is a little cramped but the ambience is excellent, especially on warm days when one can sit outside. The food is top-notch - I've loved every coffee and entree I've gotten here. It's worth bringing a friend or family member to grab some brunch here, milkweed epitomizes brunch in the local area. I've gone multiple times and each time, I'm looking forward to the next trip! We had gone by a couple of weeks ago at the craft fair and remembered we had always wanted to try this place! Today was the day! The outside seating area is very cute, and who doesn't love to sit outside? But the inside is perfect! Absolutely a vibe! Every employee we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Even realizing on their own that the air was blowing directly on us and taking it upon themselves to change the flow and make sure we were comfortable. Everything coordinates in a modern, farmhouse flair, down to the silverware and cloth napkins. Love the dish ware as well! I was the only one to have a beverage. I got a peach iced chai tea and it was sweet, but delicious. Perfect for a warm day! We then had breakfast, two blueberry pancakes that were so thick, they looked like a layer cake. They were topped with fresh blueberries, lemon zest, and lemon icing. Very good! My daughter had the peach, crème brûlée French toast. If you have a sweet tooth, you must try it! It was absurdly good! Soft. With a crispy creme brûlée crust. We also shared an order of potatoes that I'm unsure if they were actually made in house. But. They were very tasty all the same. As anticipated, this isn't priced at a diner budget. Our meal was $55 without tip. Just for 2 items, 1 side, and 1 drink. A little much. Such an aesthetically pleasing surprise! The interior has the cutest feminine flare, perfect for a girls brunch. The food was amazing, as well. We started with the crème brûlée donut-heaven sent. Would return for this donut alone. We tried the Iced Kylee drink and whipped fig ricotta crostini, as well. Both were delicious. Food was delicious. I was honestly concerned about food quality because of some reviews I have seen. It being a very insta worthy interior it could be a style over substance situation. It couldn't have been farther from that. This fried chicken was the best I have had in a while. It had a thick very well seasoned crust and the interior was beyond moist. I was truly impressed. Fries were good too. I ordered the mixed berry lemonade flight. Cutsie flights are not my thing but I was too curious. They didn't taste like lemonade with add ons to me. 4.5 Loved this place from the start. The have outdoor seating in the front, garden seating in the back and even rooftop seating. Such a cute open friendly atmosphere. The menu looked so interesting and unique. Due to the holiday I got the milkweed breakfast eggs any style, I picked scrambled with bacon and their truffle potatoes with a side of fruit. I asked for some hot sauce on the side. I enjoyed everything. My friend got the pulled pork with prosciutto, mozzarella and basil. For those who like coffee they have coffee flights. This place is a cozy brunch/lunch spot! Had the Milk-Fil-A chicken sandwich(like Chik-Fil-A) it was actually delicious. My friends had chicken and waffles, and also a BLT on avocado toast. We ALL enjoyed our meal. Our server was very sweet and attentive. One of my favorite things about this restaurant was how earth friendly it is. Ex:-Cloth hand towels in the bathroom, paper-free menus by just scanning the QR Code all reduces waste. The food is great but the experience is very aggressive. They are serious they will kick you out at exactly 90 minutes. There were probably 15 tables in the restaurant and there were only two tables seated and they literally were like all but handing us our bags asking us to leave. Our waitress came over three times asking if we needed anything else within the five minutes once we hit the 90 minute mark. After that the manager came over and was like I'm gonna take everything off your table so you girls can leave. We still had our lattes we had ordered 10 minutes prior but we had to leave them and go. We sat out in front of the restaurant in the cold for an hour talking. We had just ordered all new lattes but they didn't care because we hit the 90 minutes and they wanted us to leave. It was aggressive. HWe Mind you there was absolutely no one waiting to be seated and no one out front but they were ready for us to get out. The stress of having to be done in 90 minutes when you're there with six people was enough to make it nerve-racking. The place is really cute and the food is good but I we decided we won't be going back for our monthly brunches because it's just too aggressive. This was such a wonderful experience! I was worried it might be one of those trendy brunch spots where the aesthetic matters more than the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Salmon Benedict and it was phenomenal. Our waitress was not only attentive but also genuinely funny, and made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. I really appreciate it when a server takes the time to build rapport and truly cares about the guests. Having worked in the service industry myself, I know how draining the job can be, so I really respect and appreciate servers who are able to maintain much positivity and energy. We came in around 10am on a Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. it wasn't as busy as I would think but presume we got here early enough. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Because we were early, we were able to sit ourselves which was nice as we ended up switching tables 3 time lol. The coffee/espresso options are great. I had a Skinny Latte and "The Boss". I didn't order any food but my wife ordered a short rib cheddar omelet and truffle Parmesan potatoes which she said was fresh and yummy. Did not need any condiments she noted. We also ordered the Nutella Doughnut bites which were the perfect small treat. Horrible experience. We walked in and had a 45 min wait. Which was fine. When they sat us at 12:02, we were then told they only could seat us for an hour. Per the website your seats are reserved for 90 minutes. And then proceeded to bring us our wine after 20 minutes. Our food and appetizer came out together after 35 minutes. Leaving us a total of 25 minutes to eat and drink a bottle of wine. They had a party coming in which they started setting up around us. When I saw around us I mean every single table on the right and left of us was being prepared which just our little 2 person table in the middle of the set up. And proceeded to talk about us multiple times staring until at 12:55 I spoke to our server and stated we were still eating and have wine to drink and your website says we have an hour and a half please would they mind seating us somewhere else. They then talked about us in a meeting on the side with every single employee in the place. They moved us finally and brought our check immediately. I requested the cork for the wine we clearly didn't have time to finish. However, our cork was thrown out and they offered tin foil as an option for taking a bottle of wine home. I've never experienced that before. It was beyond rushed, I only ate half of my breakfast in the time I had. If they had a party booked they should have turned us away instead of rushing us through an entire 55 minutes of an experience, which should have been 90 minutes when it took 35 minutes to bring out our food. To start out on a positive note, the food was great & the staff was extremely friendly & attentive. That said, be cautious before booking a reservation in advance here. I booked a standard reservation for a bridal event three months in advance & left a $100 deposit to secure my date which I was told would be deducted from the final bill. I never signed anything nor was I notified of any policies before or during my reservation. My deposit was shoved back onto me in front of my guests even after I refused & I later realized my deposit was penalized for a guest arriving late. The same guest who paid for the entire bill & tipped over the 20% gratuity which was automatically added. I had to fight for a measly $10 back from the owner which was a more than unpleasant and combative experience that exposed the true values of this establishment. I was only bombarded with policies via email days after my reservation when I asked for my full deposit back which apparently included that we shouldn't have been seated without our full party present & that the reservation & deposit could be forfeited if a guest wasn't present. Be cautious of what type of business/values you are supporting when you choose an establishment to host an intimate event; there are plenty of other restaurants in South Jersey that are truly dedicated to hospitality & customer satisfaction. Ten satisfied & returning customers would have done more for this business than my penalized $10 ever could. Take initiative & ask for policies in writing before booking a reservation here or you'll be upheld by policies that were never disclosed to you. You know how they say don't believe everything you see on social media? Milkweed is a beautifully decorated trendy spot in a quaint NJ town. If you look it up on Instagram you will see tons of beautifully filtered images of people dining in among the carefully curated scenery. However, upon walking in the front door you will realize just how small and tight the dining space is compared to the photos. Since it was my third time here I wasn't in shock, but my husband was. I had warned him ahead of time but we were seated at a two top in between two other diners with perhaps 4 inches separating each of our tables. It made it difficult to converse and definitely was a bit uncomfortable, but I know you're seeing four stars and wondering how this is possible. Read on. The menu at Milkweed is unique. The array of syrup choices for coffee and lattes is plentiful, there is an entire breakfast appetizer section so you can start with donut bites ( we did). Tables are set as if you're going to an adorable, instagrammable event. A carafe of water is brought to the table and water glasses are ornate. I have tried several items here but on this trip I did the southern fried chicken Benedict sandwich. While I wish there was more hollandaise and I would have preferred home fries to French fries ( I didn't realize when I saw frites, dumb on my part, I know), I ate every bite. I also had a cookie butter latte which was perfection. Service is pretty fast because the space is small and they want to get you in and out. Used the bathroom, cute, door lock made me anxious someone might open! Service - slow. Got our coffees after our biscuits and main dishes arrived. Slow to get more syrup for my waffle. We shared the biscuits & pumpkin butter. We both ordered the chicken & waffles. The waffles were good, not too crispy. The chicken was crispy. I think it was a thigh, not breast. I needed more syrup, it was a little dry for my liking. They are cash only, but we saw on Venmo that was an option, and friends told us. So that's the way we planned to pay. The waitress wasn't firm with making us use an ATM. So we used Venmo, if you spent all that money to renovate and charge $15 for dishes, get with it, don't be cash only. That's fishy... Not in a hurry to go back. Wish them well, but get a square some other typical way to accept cards or pass the % the card companies would charge onto the customers. read more

I've been dying to go to Milkweed since before it opened! I remember seeing the butterfly logo *months* before opening day. That was enough to grab my attention. The restaurants has been POPPING and since they don't take reservations it's been tough to pay a visit without having the time to potentially wait. Amidst wedding planning, we finally found the time to go! CASH ONLY!!! The ATM was broken but luckily the restaurant was able to accommodate via venmo. We planned to go at 8:30a...we were exhausted (slept in a little) and ended up arriving around 9am. I feel like we got lucky, as we didn't have to wait for a table at all! It's gotta be the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant in all of the area, now. A boho-babes dream! All of the Instagram-able moments you can dream of from the interior decoration to the food and drinks. Kudos for having super cute chairs that are equally as comfy. I had previously read that the service is not great, but I'm thrilled to share we were in-and-out in shy of 30 minutes. Thick and creamy, just the way I prefer my lattes. The matte dusty rose mug was a nice touch. Not only is the selection of food superb, you can now opt for almost every item to be GF- beyond accommodating! While I like to stay Gluten Free, I splurged and got the truffle egg sandwich as is. The eggs were a little overdone but as a whole the sandwich was tasty. The truffle, bacon, and arugula combo gave the flavor a bit of a bite but not overpowering. I will say, for an aesthetically pleasing spot, it would make more sense to either include the potatoes in the price or put the sandwich on a smaller plate- it just looked unfinished, visually. We opted to try the potatoes anyway - they were decent. J got the gluten free cherry vanilla pancakes and they were AWESOME! The cherries were a jam consistency and sweet. The stack came with three and while they weren't i-hop size they were more than filling. He even brought one home. Many people have complained about the portion size and I'm here to say, they are comparable to any other farm-to-table brunch spot. If you're looking for oversized portions, go to your local diner. The sweet waffle compliments the flavorful, crispy fried chicken so well. I also got a side of maple syrup, but that's because I have a huge sweet tooth. The lime hollandaise also adds some nice acidity to cut through the heaviness of the dish. But let me tell you about the truffle parmesan potatoes omg.. they're so perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were also seasoned SO WELL. Coffee: Our drinks were super good as well!! I absolutely loved that they had these unique handcrafted lattes and coffee options. They have so many syrups to choose from. The short rib omelette was also really delicious with the carmelized onions and cheddar. (Though to be fair we were 1 out of 3 parties there at the time) There were also unfortunately a couple of flies, but they didn't bother us the entire time. I was really looking forward to it but the sandwich was lackluster. It was so dry and very skimpy. The fries were also dry. There wasn't that many dynamic flavors in the sandwich and tasted sort of one-note of jammy sweet and pure salt. I want to like this restaurant and come back to try other stuff but don't recommend the prosciutto, fig, and mozzarella sandwich. My friend and teacher enjoyed their food though, they got waffles. I haven't been to this restaurant, and probably never will. This review is based solely on their "customer service". Milkweed promoted a Galentines brunch for the month of Februrary. First off, what am I paying $20 for? A reservation, a DJ I didn't ask for, and a giveaway you could've done online? Secondly, I emailed them the day of asking for details. Their instructions on the email were to Venmo them with my name, # of guests, date, and time as the Venmo description. And they ended it with "I'll email you again once we receive your payment". Remember that part, it'll be important later. I paid them within 12 hours of receiving the email and waited for the confirmation. Three days later, no response, so I followed up. Clearly this person has no experience in email etiquette because it read like a text. They told me they sold out in 15 hours and weren't able to take my reservation and to request a refund on Venmo. Huh? I followed all their instructions and I got no response, not even to tell me that they have no more space! So I told them that is ridiculous that they didn't even follow up with me because that is THEIR JOB as a business and that is EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID in the email: "I'LL email you..." My sister, also in my party for this event, gave them 1-star on Google with no comment. They EMAILED ME BACK saying "You made a review based off your 3-day late response. Lol. Reservations don't wait on you! We will toast to your lateness on our sold out events." HOW RUDE CAN YOU BE? How is this an acceptable way to treat potential customers? I hope others see this and the other awful, honest reviews on here and don't waste their time on petty people running this poor excuse of a business. read more
