Went for a gel pedicure and acrylic removal on Thursday. By Saturday, my French tips on my feet had already chipped, and they sent me out with acrylic still on my hands. I went to another salon and they had to soak the leftover acrylic off 3 more times before it was fully removed. When I came back here for French tip repair & told the owner, she denied even after showing her the photos. She shook her head and said that she "removed all of the acrylic." She raised her voice. Very poor customer service and unprofessional. Won't be recommending this business or returning. read more

Costumer service was pleasant. What was not, was the quality of my nails. I'm highly dissatisfied with the quality and the length of time my nails lasted. While my service was taking place I vocalized on multiple occasions what I felt needed fixing. Although some of my concerns were taken care of. Some were not. The length of the location of the tip was far too high which caused multiple of my nails to fall off. Today when I went to get one fixed she continued to use the wrong color and stated that she was simply going to mix the colors until she found the correct color. I did however vocalize the exact color prior to her beginning to fix my nail and during. I would say I'm going to splurge on a more specialized nail salon. read more

This was the worst nail experience I've ever had and I'm 62 and I've been getting my nails done for 40 years. I had dipping powder on top of my real nails (picture with French manicure) and the woman at the front desk suggested I try bio gel instead because it's better for your nails. She proceeded to shove a plastic tip under the dipping powder and rip the nail off. She did it so quickly I didn't realize until she was on the third one that she was taking my whole nail and just leaving the short nail bed. I said "THOSE WERE MY REAL NAILS! I guess you should just file and paint them now. She tried to put tips on but I refused. Picture with pink nails is what I'm left with. Then the woman doing my pedicure cut my big toe, so bad that it bled for at least 15 minutes. You can see in the picture that there's caked on blood all next to the side of my toenail. And they charge me $88 for this. They should've paid me $88 for damages. I will never go back to this place and I would suggest that you never go there either. read more

A pretty standard nail salon. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for a mani & pedi & they took me right away. Depending on the available services, I got both done within 1-2 hours. Services I chose: - Mani - bio gel, square shaped, 1 solid color, no massage - Pedi - gel, after previous gel removal, standard massage & callus removal - Drinks - Mimosa of choice Mindy did my mani & she was sweet to offer me a drink. I'm usually picky with my selection, but I walked in knowing what I wanted already. No problem with my service. Please DO NOT go here. I am not one to leave one star reviews but my experience here was so terrible. I came in for a mani/pedi with my best friend. We came in on our appointment time and waited for an additional 20 minutes as they were busy. The pedicure I had was terrible. My skin was clipped multiple times, one time so much so that it would not stop bleeding and the man doing my pedicure aggressively rubbed white powder into the cut to make it stop bleeding. My manicure was the same thing. Four out of my ten fingers were clipped with one bleeding so much that it needed powder as well. The salon itself was incredibly dirty and I was very worried about infection. My finger nails were shaved down so much that once the gel polish was applied and sitting under the light, my fingers felt like they were on fire. My fingers and toes ached for days where the skin been clipped. Please save yourself the pain. read more

They did a great job with my full set of nails and pedicure. I got the deluxe pedi which comes with a scrub and hot towel treatment along with callous removal. I went with French tip gel. I was very happy with the results. I went in with a pic of how I wanted my nails to look and they matched it perfectly. I was extremely impressed with the results. My only critique would be that there are some sharp edges on some of the nails which I'll need to file down when I get home. read more

READ THE RECENT REVIEWS FIRST. In a post-COVID world, that's the best way to see what's really going on somewhere. I wish I would have before coming in. Like many others, the pedicure at this place left me gushing blood and nervous about infection. The woman tried to make it my fault and said she "had to do that to remove the ingrown." They had to keep adding bandages and hydrogen peroxide to make it stop bleeding. NO NAIL SALON SHOULD LEAVE YOU BLEEDING. The worst part is that they still charged me full price. I tried to push back but I was just so ready to leave. Except for the woman who did my hands, who was kind but not very skilled, the staff are only friendly to regulars. They were talking very loudly in another language and the woman who did my pedicure didn't even look at what she was doing most of the time (hence the injury). There is an atmosphere of apathy that is incongruent to a business providing a service. The facility is certainly not sanitary either. They don't ask that you wash your hands like most nail salons do nowadays. The nail files have buildup from OTHER PEOPLE'S NAILS, the towels looked gross and the tools were just thrown around. You can tell when a salon takes safety seriously and this place did not. I implore anyone reading this to please go somewhere else. This place is dangerous, overpriced, and will leave you filled with regret. read more

First of, I had an appointment @1030 am, they did not take me in not until 35 mins later. The daughter of the owner helped drill/clean my nails before my acrylic fills. Not sure if she was ever certified or licensed to do it? While she was drilling, I kept telling her that it hurts and it was burning, but she continues with drilling and doesn't have the etiquettes to apologize. It scraped my skin off. Very Rude ! I came in at opening and got in right away. Mindy put on a full set, I didn't like it---i want a coffin shape, but didn't know I had to ask for that shape at the beginning. The nail has to be a little bit longer for coffin to look good--- she still soaked it off and put on another set for me. I didn't want to be THAT person; to complain about nails is awkward at times, but she went above and beyond and re applied my entire full set . My daughter and I called beforehand to ask if they did nail designs. They allowed us to send the photos and confirmed they were 100% capable. This was NOT the case. Top it off, if you don't like your design, they'll get offended & begin speaking in their own language making you feel even more unwelcome. When I mentioned the design didn't look like the photo & requested to do a solid coat, the owner shoved her hand back at me. Mindy, owner, is very unprofessional and was the one who helped me in her Camarillo location. We assumed the ventura location was a different owner, but when we arrived, it was her. Same experience and left so annoyed. If I'm going to pay $60 for a set, you better not make me feel like you don't want my money! Never again. Find someone who respects you. Pro's: 1.Free beverage (water, soda, mimosa, etc.) 2.Sanitary *Pedicure bowl liners- my favorite *Sterilized tools *Nice Staff 3.Nice Décor and atmosphere 4.Nails came out looking really pretty and vibrant 5.Acrylics had exactly the shape and thickness I wanted 6.Pedicure massage was nice 7. Open later than most salons 8. MOST IMPORTANT-when the nail tech filed down my nails and took off the polish, he found a discoloration. He told me if it was green it was bad, if it was black or any other color it was okay. He continued to file it down and sanitize it and spray it with alcohol and then replace the nail and then paint it etc. Cool. (but see #4 below) Con's: 1.Small Salon 2.Forgot My drink (but they did ask what I want, ha ha) 3.My acrylics that had clear/silver glitter on them were very rough on top and I had to have them fix that before I leave and add another coat of glitter before I left because you could see through the nails and the layers of fill. 4. MOST IMPORTANT- I was super nervous about my nails now that I knew I had had a fungus. I knew nothing about it and had never expected that before. I don't blame anyone for the fungus as I know you can get it when moisture is trapped under the nail and if you go for a while with acrylics and get fill over fill and not new nails and if your nail lifts between fills etc. HOWEVER, while looking online, I stumbled upon the green fungus the nail tech was talking about "Green Nail Syndrome". I freaked out and popped my own acrylic nail off to make sure that my nail was fine...IT WAS NOT. It was in fact green. not black or any other color. IT WAS GREEN AND THE NAIL TECH HAD SIMPLY BUFFED IT OUT AND PUT ANOTHER NAIL ON TOP OF IT. Just to be on the safe side I took off all of my acrylics that I just paid for and treated the one nail with antibiotics and alcohol until it resolved. *To be clear, I did not get this fungus here, nor did I probably from anywhere else. I am just upset and disappointed and felt that they hid the actuality and importance of this fungus in order to put an acrylic on it and get the set done and get me out of there. I was relying on them for honest opinion and information as they are the experts, not me.* I am super bummed about this because could have been my new salon. I was super excited. I am giving two stars because there is obviously talented staff based on pictures here in Yelp, it is clean, pretty, and I really wanted to like the place. read more

Unfortunately I have to post this negative review... when I arrived I was promptly greeted and the service as a walk-in was fairly quick. The nail tech was very polite however after 2 days one finger started to chip so I touched up the edge with a different color and now today 3 days later, another finger is chipping. Don't get a manicure expecting it to last more than a few days. Don't waste your time and or money! Updated to include photos of more chips of polish gone on day 5 after manicure. Went back to the salon and received an apology that I was not told that a manicure would not last. I requested a gel polish and am now totally satisfied with my manicure. I was charged the additional fees for the gel $15. Hopeful that my manicure will now last 2 weeks. read more

Tracy did my pedicure and she was wonderful. (Which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of one.) Now, I have never left a bad review before, but the manicurist cut 4 of my cuticles until they bled. Even worse: he did not apologize or even acknowledge it. He applied styptic powder to stop the bleeding...which would have been fine...but he used the same tool he was just using to clean underneath my nails to scoop up the powder and pressed it into my bleeding cuticle with an ungloved hand. So unsanitary! I told him it hurt and he told me to relax. At the end of the manicure I showed my manicurist my cut cuticles. I asked him to be careful (due to high risk of staff infection). He laughed. The way he handled this situation from start to finish makes me think that this is a common occurrence. Proceed with caution. read more

Based off one visit- Gel Mani- I got them done 3 weeks ago and only the thumb chipped last week which is great since they were already growing out. Price- eh slightly higher than others i think I called for same day appointment and they were busy but had time to see me. Wait time was 40 mins later than expected, which could be a problem if i had a meeting or appointment after. I'll def go back- mainly interested in their removal process for Gels. read more

I had the most awkward, and somewhat rude experience here last weekend. 4 stars for the actual pedicure, but the rude manicurist brought it down to two stars. I came in for a spa pedicure and they sat me in a chair right away. I waited for about 15-20 minutes before someone came to start my pedicure. She walked up and did not say a word to me. Not even a "hello." She said something about me being on my phone to the other ladies. (I was texting my babysitter, btw.) Not really paying attention, then "BAM!!!" She flippin' slapped a fly into my shin. She whacked my leg so hard, it seriously took me by surprise. I'm not sure what was worse--getting roughed up or having fly guts all over my leg :-/ She never said one word to me. Not even an apology. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

The mom and daughter staff are wonderful people and make you feel comfortable. The place is pretty and clean and the customer service is fantastic. The one star is because the lady who did my pedicure dug out my toe nail, cut my skin too low and it caused an infection that lasted a week. It was super painful and it has taken the entire month of July for my big toe to heal. I didn't know how bad I was injured until after leaving. I had scabbing, throbbing and a lot of pain! I would have gone back a million times if not for this experience and now reading the other comments, I see I'm not the only one. I paid over $300 to get a horrible infection. Tyler and their other employees went above and beyond to make me satisfied before I left today. I almost started crying because I was so happy. I'd give them 10 stars if I could! On top of it all I was just a walk in and took me in right away. I walked in telling them that I haven't gotten my nails done in ten years because my old nail technician started using a product that would literally burn my nail beds which inturn distorted my nails for many years. Lucky I came to encore nails because they had figured out what they were doing wrong which was causing me so much pain. If it wasn't for encore figuring out the problem I don't think I would have ever been able to pamper myself by getting acrylics again. I think a 2.5/3 is a fair assessment of this place. I got a pedicure and I think she did good job. I'm pretty happy with how it they turned out. My manicure was a different story. The lady who did my nails seemed really nice but she accidentally over clipped my cuticles in multiple places and they couldn't get the bleeding to stop. She also cut them super short which I didn't love but it looked ok. After 4 days all the gel tips started chipping. I've never experienced that before so I'll never go back. We had the best experience at encore! They took such good care of us during our visit. We drove down to Ventura from Santa Barbara, and were mediately greeted with an icy cold grown-up beverage. I had a Stella and my friend had a Mimosa. They also had a nice assortment of snacks including many kinds of chips and chocolate bars. But, best of all... They had some of the most amazing nail colors that we had ever seen! It was hard to choose because there were so many beautiful colors. We were able to get a dip manicure and a spa pedicure at the same time. The chairs were some of the most high tech and most comfortable massage chairs that we had ever seen. Been going to Encore on and off for 5 years and it's gotten worse. First the Camarillo location and now the Ventura one after they moved. Mindy is the only one worth going to for dip nails. Each time I've gone to anyone else there, I end up with drilled-down raw nails to remove the dip, and uneven or chunky dip nails that are never the shape that I want. Ask for almond? You'll get oval. As for squoval? You'll get square. Even with photo references, they always look horrible, misshapen or chunky. They are polite, but also take almost everyone regardless of if they have time, so I've also had appointments where I've had to share a nail manicurist with other people at the same time. read more

I regularly visit Encore Nails and Spa and see Luan. I've been a loyal customer/client/friend of her for many, many years because she is the BEST. The staff at the salon are very friendly and always offer customers a complimentary beverage (champagne, wine, cold beer). You can receive a full service including, but not limited to, manicure, pedicure, waxing (including nose nostrils), in a relaxing and extremely clean setting and comfortable environment. When the manicurist works, they use new nail filing (never the same one on another customer!). I highly recommend Luan, Encore Nails and Spa. You won't be disappointed. Had a very disappointing experience here. They quickly had my daughter and I seated and proceeded to have us both put our feet into scalding water! After adjusting our water which ended being to0 cold, left us just sitting there for a half hour before starting on only one of us. We came into together and told them it was my birthday and asked if they had time to do us at the same time. They never came over and acknowledged us or apologized. I got what I thought was a gel manicure for my wedding. It turned out to be a powder manicure due to a miscommunication. This left my nails in shambles. Not to mention the nail artist buffed my nails too far down which resulted in very visible lines on my actual nails as they grow out. Please see the picture. My nails were also cut on the sides to fit the extensions instead of them fitting my nail properly. When I removed the nails, they were cut down very far on the sides, forcing me to trim my entire nail. My nails are brittle, fragile, and breaking as they grow out, which is not normal for me. My nails are normally very strong. Very very disappointed and quite frankly infuriated with my damaged nails. read more
